We are starting our road trip today in Bulgaria and I have not done this since my Pakistan visit few years back. We start our journey in a historic Bulgarian town called: Koprivshtitsa. 🇧🇬 One of the most captivating aspects of Koprivshtitsa is its resilience, having been burned down three times and yet rising from the ashes each time. The spirit of the town and its inhabitants is truly inspiring, and it added a profound depth to my experience. Please let me know what do you think? ❤🙏🏽

You are a great man and a great explorer, Davud! I'm a Bulgarian and your subscriber since your adventure in Isfahan. Your attitude and respect towards different culture are amazing! Be welcome, bro!
My grandmother's aunt was Dobrinka Oslekova, she used to be a teacher and in the early 90s we used to visit her in the same old house that you showed- the Oslekov House, as it was early into the political reforms the house was returned to the heirs of the family and it wasn't a museum (aunt Dobrinka always claimed that her father insisted on giving the house back into posession of the state, the other heirs didn't agree and now Oslekov's house is one of those for which you pay extra ticket as it's a private estate) so when we visited we were invited to sleep in the old house, my grandmother's aunt, Dobrinka, slept in the tiny house in the garden, only guests slept in the main house. It was quite uncomfortable to sleep on the old furniture even as a child I found it narrow and small - I've tried sleeping in both the big dark red room and the brighter orange room. There were no ghosts! hahaha
Здравейте! Флагът 31:39 - 32:45 от видеото е Самарското знаме. Самарското знаме е български боен флаг, национална светиня, един от най-важните военни символи на Българската армия.
Truly Davud, this decrepit little town is brimming with a positive vibe, no matter how it's past has been. Truly enjoyed it. The people there are lovely.
I may have erred in calling it decrepit, but as you said, a town that was burned down thrice may have prompted me to do so. However Bulgaria is one of the Balkan country I love most.
Kableshkov was assigned the head of the local revolutionary committee in Koprishtitsa and deputy-apostle of the Panagyurishte revolutionary district. He was the first to proclaim the April Uprising on 20 April 1876 and is the author of the famous Bloody Letter to the Panagyurishte revolutionary district. Kableshkov was the head of the military council in Koprivshtitsa and led a cheta (band, detachment) together with Panayot Volov, with which he went round the nearby villages.
Koprivshtica is protected architecture reserve and if you want to build smth you have to do it in the same style, next time i recomend you to visit other architecture reserves like ...etara ,shiroka laka, leshten, bojenci, kovachevica, zlatograd, jeravna, bansko, triavna, rila monastery, bachkovo monastery and troyan monastery, this are all authentic bulgarian places with bulgarian revival,or renesance architecture from the late 1700s and the 1800s
I think that the car reaches special and interesting places with magical and wonderful beauty, beyond the normal and quite familiar city life. This time I especially enjoyed it.
37:08 Бакшиш/Bakshish is indeed Iranian/Persian word. But it does not come from Ottoman times. We used to have common boarders with Persia and Bulgaria is very mixed with Iran. We even have Nastradin as Character ;P And more then few hundreds of words that are Iranian, but many people think they are ,,Turkish" .
32:39 That is called the Samara flag. It was made by Russian nuns in the city of Samara, it was like a holy flag that reached Bulgaria in 1876 where it was carried in many of the liberation battles against the Ottomans.
You didn't pay attention to the ceilings, as there was too much to show I guess in Koprivshtica. The ceilings of each room were with different woodwork style. Actually the wood craftsmen of Bulgarian at that time were highly valued in the Otoman empire. Actually the Sultan's chief woodcrafts master was Bulgarian almost all of the time after the Otomans conquered Bulgaria till its liberation.ALso Todor Kableshkov was a revolutionary who died for Bulgarian liberty.
The kids were giggling because probably the have never seen a foreigner and this was their way of exploring the interaction with you. "My name is Mangal" - mangal is a semi offensive word to describe gypsy - and the kid was joking with you by offensive himself that his name (the kid) is a gypsy. (which is nonsense - even the joke has no meaning) The kids were laughing because they were saying this thing and you cannot understood it and it was probably the first time they interact with a foreigner and don't know what to do in this social situation.
I find azerbaijan different than other muslim countries,it is not that religious and the people, like you are more open for the new and modern things,i like your president,(he is very liberal and democratic person)the guy with the mustage,he was in bulgaria many times and even one time his wife and daughter came and was threated with very big attention by our pm boiko borisov,i can compare azerbaijan with states like lebanon or albania, where islam is not that hard like taliban and saudi arabia and iran
I notice that You, Davud are a little impatient. And You sound like You are trying to hurry the conversation to go on Your way. But the guy keeps going on on points of interest.
All ok but the videos should be real flow without revealing before and I believe this comment hit you then think about the next level of adventure for your viewers what expecting more interesting
The boy named Mangal says, "My God, he doesn't know how to eat a pancake!" The girl named Krasimira says: "I bet he'll be covered in chocolate all over!"
😂 Our village on the other side of the country's been burned 6 times over the last 200-300 yrs. 3 times, pfff, bih please!🤣 I even found a copper Ottoman coin from 1575 while digging in the garden. Probably from the dudes who burned the village back then. Bcz maaaan, did those SOBs liked to burn down our villages.😅
in your videos you dont tell about violence rate. you tell sri lanka is free country. but every month some one is murdered by armed gangs. but you show sri lanka as good social background. im sri lankan
So many years of course that they leave their mark. BUT, it was from this small town that the beginning of the April uprising against the Ottoman power was set, as a result of which the Russian-Turkish war of 1877 was declared. The statue of the man in the video is of the one who proclaimed the uprising with the Bloody Letter written in the blood of the local müdür.
@@altunaze6127 I dont see how you decided this only by watching, when Turks didnt had any architecture of their own ,this architecture you see is Bulgarian revival and is continuation of the Roman byzantene one wich in the Bulgarian empire was also used, true ottoman soul means uncivilised, ignorant and uneducated, also hungry for plunder and if possible not to work but to rob and pillage (the dream of every uncivilised people) you see if not the byzantene element in Istanbul still present ,Turkey is a third world country, spiritually and culturally, smth Bulgaria never had been and never will be....and if bulgarians had true ottoman soul they would never be accepted in the EU and to have one of the most powerfull passports in the world allowing Visa free travel to 180 states,Turkey will never have this privilage
