Just discovered you and im really happy to for it. You are so kind to people. Good comminucation. I have been living in Sofia for 3 years and it was really good to travel this city with your videos. Keep going like that brother.
I live in Edinburgh Scotland , In the New Town area of the city …1960 yrs old …. the metal foot scrapers still exist outside the house doors . They were put there to remove the dirt from your shoes , before entering the houses , not just for snow .
Just across the street from the mosque you have a sofia sinagogue third biggest in europe(behind the market hall) and close to it there is a catolic church a very big one, this is called the square of tolerance in sofia, cause in 100 meters from one another there are sinagogue, mosque, catolic church and ortodox church(infront of your hotel, the sveta nedelya church in translation means holly sunday)
Sveta Nedelya is translated Saint Nedelya. She was a Christian martyr. Lived and executed in 3rd century AD, when Christianity was illegal and prosecuted in the Roman empire. Do not confuse Nedelya with the Bulgarian word for Sunday.
I love your travel videos Davud. Yes, we also have those boot scrapers outside the more grand, Victorian era houses here too. Some of them are actually built into a small recess in the brickwork of the house. InWales they're generally for scraping footwear to remove anything that you don't want brought into your home, mud, snow etc etc. Love from Wales.
@Davud_Akh 44:15 These metal things are there for you to scrub the dirt and mud off your shoes before entering the building. Actually in the country side of Bulgaria these things still exist and are in use. :) Greetings from Bulgaria!
In these days 140 euros are not that much money, may be if the price was 250-300 euros you can be really dissapointed about the drawings on the curtons, next time when in sofia visit hotel marinela,or hilton sofia and there are probably tens of hotels with 5 star service but the price is over 300-400 euros...close to the mountain you will find the real high end places thats where the rich people live ,politicians, industrials, bankers, lawyers etc
140€ is absolutely nothing for a good hotel in Bulgaria, that's true. Sheraton Sofia Balkan (the hotel where the guy was staying) was more luxurious in the past, it's not seen as much luxurious anymore. Also he was saying it's 50 year old, when the hotel is around 70 years old. There are way better and more luxurious hotels in Sofia, but price won't be 140€ that's for sure haha. Hilton and Marinela are also so-so. I suggest Millenium hotel, has amazing rooms with a crazy view, especially the ones on the higher floors.
Very interesting. To say no by moving the face up and down and to say yes by moving the face left and right is a completely different tradition in Bulgaria. I saw a unique way of removing snow from shoes for the first time in your video. Thank you.

Bulgaria isn't the oldest country in Europe, the neighboring Greece is older, also most of the countries in this part of Europe share some common ancestors, so all of them have about the same age. The cave-man populated both Bulgaria - Kozarnic Cave - and Romania - Muyeryi Cave - about one million years ago. Also the Cucuteni-Trypillia culture from Romania, Rep. Moldova and Ukraine is about the same age as the Gumelnița-Karakovo cultures from Bulgaria. Also Thracian and Dacians were the previous inhabitants of the Balkan peninsula and are the ancestors of most of the present day inhabitants, including Serbians, Bulgarians and Romanians.
