On his 2nd shot attempt, the hunter short-stroked the bolt on his rifle! It's a rookie mistake inexperienced hunters make among a litany of clumsy errors I've often seen. However, the gentleman made up for his shortcomings by having good guides whose obvious organizational strategies make for resounding success with a great bull moose..!!!

It looked like he short stroked it to me (didn’t pull the bolt back enough for the extractor to grab the next round). Happens in the heat of the moment.
