This guitar is not a custom shop and only inspirired by. No part of this guitar was made by the custom shop.

There's no difference other than the location it was manufactured. Same materials, same design, the Epiphone is only cheaper because a bunch of Chinese in a sweat shop made it as opposed to rednecks in Tennessee. Let's seriously stop the bs elitism with guitars, to anyone half-educated it's all marketing gimmicks.

Glad you said that. So right. No triple A either. You can hardly see it.

Your comment on soft strings is interesting. Epiphone Les Paul and Gibson Les Paul guitars both come with the same 010-046 diameter strings. What do you mean by soft?? Are you talking about your ability to bend the strings?? If so, smaller diameter strings offer less resistance and bends are easier. If you want "harder" strings, go up a string size to 011's or even 12's. You'll get plenty of resistance!! FYI, that Epiphone isn't a clone of a CS R-9. There are several key differences between the two guitars. 1, Epi is a figured veneer over a maple cap while the R-9 is a full thickness maple cap. 2. The body of a R-9 is a single piece of mahogany, the Epi is a two piece, at least they stopped putting a veneer on the back to make it look nicer. 3, the R-9 is nitrocellulose finished while the Epi is a cheaper satin finish and lastly, all custom shop Les Paul guitars go through Gibson's PLEK machine which levels all the frets for a very playable guitar. For the money, both editions of the Inspired by Gibson Custom Shop 59 Les Pauls are great guitars. But the Custom Shop Reissue Les Paul be it a R6,R7,R8,R9 or R 0 are a superior guitar in every way but price.

Its a shame you guys cant buy Chinese made Burny or Tokai Les Paul's from retailers in the States. Similar quality to this Epiphone but significantly cheaper. The Gibson R9 has a solid top the Epiphone here has a veneer. The other thing to note is that like most Epiphone's the guitar is likely to tank by around 30% as soon as it goes on the used market. And finally you might have liked the feedback I certainly didnt appreciate it

Also the tailpiece and bridge is an abr 1 inspired. The guitar is a good guitar (two piece body one piece neck) finish is not the same as a true r9. (Poly vs nitro) red dye on the r9.
