I like bugmans, the building requirement is honestly the only reason not to take them, really feel like if that buildings was better rangers would be in every dwarf army
I can absolutely see that perspective, and from what I understand Dwarfs are very hungry for economy buildings... that and Quarrelers are pretty good. Not as good as Bugman's Rangers, though!
Petition to change the name of their regen to "Too Drunk to Die." I actually preferred bugmen over thunderers once they became available. The fire arc of crossbows makes it easier to position them safely, and in focused volleys the damage they put out against even armored targets is still damn good. My memory is a little fuzzy but I believe there's a landmark in the mountains just south of where the vampire counts start that gives bonuses to all rangers as well. As you mentioned, they're also good for taking out artillery crews if they can stay hidden, which is something dwarves really don't have many options for.
Interesting unit- lots of applications, great combat stats. I love the fact that they heal themselves and have some sustainability. I just wish that they had slightly better armor- around 60 to better reflect their melee prowess.
@@kirillrivkin4842 Real life slowed me down a lot for a few days, but someone asked for Gyrocopter, and I can do that.... I'm coming out with Rotting Prometheans Gunnery Mob first because I already have the video and voice recording ready to be cleaned up.
Their models look nice, and they're decent overall against most light armoured targets, regeneration+charge defense is also great too making them a direct upgrade from Rangers. But I vastly prefer the great axe+throwing axe rangers by like a mile. Throwing axes are just too good.
It really is. I still remember them toning down Chaos Dwarf Blunderbusses by taking the charge resist away. Now, they're sturdier generally and have superb damage, they're doing OK, it's just a really nice perk they lost.

NGL, the combination of smooth jazz and combined arms is really soothing and I'd repeat watch hours of this combination.
Well I have more videos you probably haven't seen yet, enjoy! I'll add more with all the 5.0 excitement.

I second that (hic) petition!
I love my Thunderers, but this strikes me as a "just plain good" unit that can earn its keep in a lot of situations.
they can stalk, they have charge defense, they are fast , and they have regen and shield very good indeed
A very interesting variety of unit.

I suppose they don't want the rangers displacing dedicated melee units.
Who is the subject of your next showcase?

I hope that everything is OK. Good luck- looking forward to your next unit showcase
@@kirillrivkin4842 The bottom line is that things are improving, no big concerns. I'll get the gunnery mob video out in a couple of hours tops.

I can understand why - the AP differentiates them so much from your more usual choices.
Range + charge resist = noice
