I've been wondering, and haven't seen this tried yet, but for the free-standing version, could one perhaps use two longer sticks instead of one, joining them at the top somehow to eliminate the stick-in-the way issue? Seems to me it would make more room in the shelter. Another idea might be: Using four sticks in like fashion to simulate the ridge-line version, and making a door out of clear plastic. This would allow a fire out front to radiate heat inside, and an emergency tarp hung on the rear wall inside the tent would reflect the heat coming through the door, for cold weather of course. The same thing could be done for any of the free-standing versions, I suspect. What do you think? 🤔
I think that could absolutely work! It would be a pain to set up as anything involving a ridgeline over 2 poles sticks or the like is tricky to set up on your own. But it would work very well in theory. And yeah, absolutely only for cold weather. You would be way too hot it you did that in summer😂 really good idea, though, and a variation that would be lots of fun to spend a cold night in!!
Is the ridge line strong enough to walk on? Asking for a friend. And out of curiosity let’s say that friend were to weigh 20 stone, you know like a small gorilla could the ridge line hold me?

😂 It's strong enough to hold up tarps and such. It's unlikely that it will take much more than that😬
@@just_callum hmmm 🤔 so what your saying is 2 ridge lines should hold it 👍 thank you Callum I’ll let you know how it goes 🫡
@heonknight6967 😂😂 best of luck. Word to the wise try 3 ridgelines that ought to do it 😉
