  • BrainCancer.org presents our 9th video in our Brain Tumors 101 series, " Surgical Options After A Brain Tumor Diagnosis:". In this video, Dr. Charles Cobbs, Neurosurgeon and the Gregory Foltz Endowed Director of The Ben and Catherine Ivy Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment , discusses how surgical resections of brain tumors are approached by a patient's Neurosurgeon. Surgical options are often dictated by where a tumor resides in the brain. The location of these tumors dictate how the neurosurgeon approaches surgery and Dr. Cobbs goes into further detail on how these decisions are made.

I had a gross total resecetion of a grade 3 Anaplastic oligodendroglioma 4.5cm. It was on my right frontal lobe. In my recovery I've felt like a toddler at the best of times. Lacking impulse control and patience. I'm guessing this is due to where the surgery was.

Hi Justin, found you in this comment section. I, too, had a gross total resection for grade 3 oligo on my right frontal lobe. Right above my right eyebrow. It was approx 3.5-4.0cm. this was in June 2022, 4 months ago as well.
How are you doing? My surgery went fine, and my recovery was quick. I am now about to start chemoradiation with temozolomide in about a week.
Anyway, I don't mean to put you in an unwanted pen-pal situation or anything, it's just amazing to run into someone with seemingly the same mass as I had. I hope you are doing well, Sir.

@@damicolicious hi. I am doing well. I am back at work full time now. Just past my six month milestone. MRI and all clear so far. I hope your treatment goes well for you. I was rather lucky and the surgery was a success. No chemo needed. I will have to undergo a round of temozolide in the future I'm certain but so far so good
