It’s 2021 I’ve owned mine for 3 years no comparison I literally can’t think of a reason to get the new bike! I had a 2016 r1 previous and this is something else still after 3 years love it .
I agree I have a 2016. My friend has a new 2022 s1000rr. I walked him easily and both bikes are stock. After he got beat so bad he asked me if I had a secret tune, lol
Wow, very relatable story to mine. I had a 2016 R1 as well. I sold it and bought a 2015 S1000RR. Don't get me wrong, the R1 was a great bike but I love my S1000RR so much more, it's so amazing all around.
Ha I spotted Nate Kern in that video. Too cool! He's one of the best riders I know personally and it's such a pleasure to watch him race. The guy can make anything with 2 wheels look and run fast.
I remember about 8-10 years ago BMW said they wouldn't jump on the sports bike band wagon and join the competition in the litre bike world. Doing the opposite, and replacing the CEO was one of the best decisions they ever made.
What an AWESOME soundtrack! Thanks so much for not ruining this video with vile disco music. So, Neevesy, is it twice the bike my 2010 S1000RR is? Because it's going to be twice the money.
Really? The most powerful bike I have ridden was a Ninja 636, a 2003 I think it was. It was SO alien to my FZ, the way it was so much more extreme in all ways... It didn't put me off.
It's frequently reported to be the easiest sport bike to ride for beginners. One writer I recall saying a newer rider wouldn't get the best from it but the rider aids would let you enjoy it until your skills caught up. After only a brief ride I wanted one but really, I just wouldn't ride one enough to justify having it (same reason I sold my CBR600RR). I'd get more use out of a Ducati Scrambler or even a Monster 821.
Yeah I've heard of numerous people who switch from their sport bikes to the s1000 and instantly run better lap times and find it easier to handle overall.
I wish people would stop bloody going on about it. If you don't like asymmetry, buy any other brand. Or, learn to love the unorthodox looks and buy the best super bike ever made.
It serves a few purposes: 1) Generate controversy and discussion like this 2) They say in an old video that its saves 340 grams by having the smaller unit. Less weight more speed and better balance.
All the brands compites for the best numbers, but the best bike, is that can you ride and grow up whit him. The technology is for have a easiest ride. Take a bike and if you feel comfort fast and secure. That is your bike. For me Aprilia Rsv4 Is the King. Technology, comfort, fast, designs, pedigree, secure.
Probably accidentally made public, likely BMW put up a press embargo of today, but let the journo's ride the bikes ages ago, so they can get their articles done. you don't hear about it much, but always assume the journo's know more than they're letting on.
On the power side it won't touch the h2. Might handle better in the curves and that's it between the two. But on shocking point the h2 could be mean as well on the handling side. I don't really count the h2 though. So in its place the new rsv4 will beat the other 2015 models easy.
Sea Tac Assassin bike only pushing like 196 to the tire. H2 over 200 and has more tq. No way for this bmw to beat the h2 lol. Even though the h2 is heavier it's acceleration still very brutal. I don't see this s1000rr beating it in a straight line race at all. Might have the advantage on the curves but that's bout it. Then again the h2 might prove to be better on the track as well. We will see what they think in a few months from now. But other than the awesome Ninja, my money on the new rsv4. It'll have more tq which helps it accelerate out of corners faster etc. Bmw might catch it in the long run though but we shall see soon enough.
Sea Tac Assassin they say all kinds of stuff bout it. Some say it's pushing 210 some say 200. It'll have to be over 190 Hp to the wheel especially with a supercharged motor so 190 don't even make sense there lol. I can get that power on my 10 with a good tune.
I got the first dislike. Mainly because the bike is built like shit. Look at the mcn reviews all the owners have given it like 2 stars! Bits fall of it and it rusts to hell!
No they don't you are a fucking liar. Gtfo . every thing you said is a lie. Plus everyone knows that the BMW by far has the best build quality among sport bikes. You must mean Aprilia or something
TheRealBajan You protect that BMW like a mother bear haha, but seriously the build quality is extremely good with the S1000RR, my dads friend has one and nothing has ever gone wrong with it.
Honda needs to hurry up and get a monster fireblade out already to put these other liter bikes in check. Lord knows they have the budget and technology to do it, ask Marquez. Just borrow the tech from the Repsol MotoGP bike like yamaha said they borrowed a wee bit from their M1 MotoGP bike with the new 2015 R1. Rossi and Lorenzo's yamahas have been seeing nothing but Marquez's ass all season. haha
So its a bat shit crazy fast bike with lots of clever stuff to slow it down? Should there be a S800RR for people that are not just after the big numbers like the panigale?
If only BMW could make a genuinely attractive bike...Not to beat a dead horse, but that front fairing/headlight design is hideous. The sound, as well, is uninspiring at best. Then again, I suppose I'm drunk on Ducati's Kool aid, what with their drop dead gorgeous styling and superbly sounding, incredibly torquey L-Twins (and high tech electronics) However, the S1000RR did win soundly in a 1/4 mile drag race, and I'm not one to argue with german engineering -- especially with rider comfort; I heard the S1000RR even has heated handlebars and cruise control -- At the end of the day, though, if it came to deciding between a Ducati Panigale 1299 S and a S1000RR, you'd have to pry the Ducati's key from my cold dead hands. On a side note, is it just me or does the BMW's display looks vintage 2005 compared to the new R1's TFT display?
i think h2 is not a moto to race is just a urgent and panic thing to trie to rise the marquet bicause other brand motocycles expecial because bmw even bmw is more heavy because a very strong engine to last more milles is one of the havyests engines of 1000 cc it make a good power and can compit the same, the turbo thing is just and panic thing and is hugly, no fairing under the engine and the price what will bi? and just see the bike i not that is not an race good bike just to go on the strets and say lock i have a h2 like other crap bikes like zx 14, panic kawa because hayabusa. that is not because i have a bmw s1000rr but i think is the true, the bike ho can compite and maybe better is the rsv4 our the 1299 but againe more cc's is not fare and other things because the italian expencive parts and more. for my in this moment the best bikes in the worl is bmw or aprillia, and i like suzuki and honda to, honda is a very good machine no doubgt. sory my english maybe you anderstand.
Michael you need to grow up! Your just scared that the R1 may just beat your bmw and then you will have to buy another bike. You are not a sportbike lover. People that ride, likes all super bikes and it does not matter what kind of bike they ride. There will allways be better bikes year by year. But your attitude sucks and does not need to be on a sport bike!! You make us real riders look bad. Bmw is a great bike just like all of the sportbikes. Every manufacture works hard on there product so there is no need to say the R1 is Garbage but then again look who i am talking to. As for wining a race with me, i don't know you and you don't know me, but one thing i do know is the ones that talk shit can't ride for shit. That's a proven fact! Everone knows that. Now next time you ride at least wave to your other sportbike riders maybe one day you may need some help.
I fancy one of these next year
Wow, very relatable story to mine. I had a 2016 R1 as well. I sold it and bought a 2015 S1000RR. Don't get me wrong, the R1 was a great bike but I love my S1000RR so much more, it's so amazing all around.
Still not sure about the looks, can't wait to see it in the flesh. Great video as normal Mr Neeves.
Ha I spotted Nate Kern in that video. Too cool! He's one of the best riders I know personally and it's such a pleasure to watch him race. The guy can make anything with 2 wheels look and run fast.
I can see this winters youtube now... lit up with comparisons galore of:
Kawi H2
S1000RR
Yamaha's R1
Who's gonna be the new stock king?!
Can't wait!!
It would be dope to see an Aprilia in there at some point, too.
ShadowMKII
2016 they're revamping the RSV4 with 200 at the crank. hopeful for a late 2015
Thanks for letting me know - I just read up on it now. Sounds awesome!
you forgot the Ducati 1299
wasn't announced at the time, but yes even makes it better!
Love your videos, really improved quality over the year. Keep it up
2015 year of the sports bike
I remember about 8-10 years ago BMW said they wouldn't jump on the sports bike band wagon and join the competition in the litre bike world. Doing the opposite, and replacing the CEO was one of the best decisions they ever made.
What an AWESOME soundtrack! Thanks so much for not ruining this video with vile disco music.
So, Neevesy, is it twice the bike my 2010 S1000RR is? Because it's going to be twice the money.
I can't imagine such a savage bike being easy to ride. I expect it would buck me off into the bushes while it carries on to growl at children.
I rode the HP4 model and it's really easy to ride! And I never even ride sportbikes, just super nakeds. It's amazing what they've done.
Really? The most powerful bike I have ridden was a Ninja 636, a 2003 I think it was. It was SO alien to my FZ, the way it was so much more extreme in all ways... It didn't put me off.

Hmm... Do they give any tips regarding persuading the Mrs and the bank manager?
Yeah I've heard of numerous people who switch from their sport bikes to the s1000 and instantly run better lap times and find it easier to handle overall.
Thanks, excellent first ride video!
Now if I write a supper nice letter to Santa do you think I have any chance of getting one for Christmas?
No
You were right BTW
wish bmw would stick with the same size headlights on both sides
I wish people would stop bloody going on about it. If you don't like asymmetry, buy any other brand. Or, learn to love the unorthodox looks and buy the best super bike ever made.
asdf898 the h2r is the best bike ever made
I just wish people stop getting butt hurt when others are making an opinion.
Harkamal Singh i know right, im sure bmw would rather hear my feed back than me not buy there bike.
It serves a few purposes: 1) Generate controversy and discussion like this 2) They say in an old video that its saves 340 grams by having the smaller unit. Less weight more speed and better balance.
I have a heavily tuned Yamaha FS1E and it doesn't have any electronic riding aids at all!
jdclover and....?
I'm just falling in love for this babe. Is my dream, nothing else matters
Amazing bike. Nothing else to say.....
The video footage of the left foot makes it look like the bike has a GP shift pattern?
Yep, I turned it to race-shift. I prefer it on the track. Neevesy MCN

I started to watch this a couple of days ago. Then it went private, now its back, what happened.
Probably accidentally made public, likely BMW put up a press embargo of today, but let the journo's ride the bikes ages ago, so they can get their articles done. you don't hear about it much, but always assume the journo's know more than they're letting on.
Have they switched the headlights around? didn't they used to be the other way around.

not a single mention or comment on the clutchless downshift system?!?!
It's awesome mate. There's too much to cover on a video. The full lowdown is in this week's MCN. Cheers, Neevesy. MCN'.
On the power side it won't touch the h2. Might handle better in the curves and that's it between the two. But on shocking point the h2 could be mean as well on the handling side.
I don't really count the h2 though. So in its place the new rsv4 will beat the other 2015 models easy.
Dont be too sure

Chris Carter Well TBH the H2 is told to only push 197 and its 100 lb heavier

Chris Carter On a friendly dyno lol
Now that the new one is out maybe I can buy a used one
H2 is not super sport class, its hyper bike class like the Hayabusa, zx14 etc etc etc
Yeah.
Where can i buy this helmet?
Well I got the first like so that's an achievement
I got the first dislike. Mainly because the bike is built like shit. Look at the mcn reviews all the owners have given it like 2 stars! Bits fall of it and it rusts to hell!

poor old Suzuki just came out with ABS on their gsxr1000
Honda are releasing the RC213V-S which is a street version of their MotoGP bike
look it up for more info.
Honda is so outclassed now they don't even bother. Instead they phone it in with a Motogp bike.
So its a bat shit crazy fast bike with lots of clever stuff to slow it down? Should there be a S800RR for people that are not just after the big numbers like the panigale?
There should be a 300 :D
S600RR
Niall Ferris BMW S125RR haha
Hahaha what about a BMW S50RR?
MartinnMartin Speed machine!
giving those other literbikes the stink eye -_0 ....
Bmw, if you would like to send me one for free I'd happily "advertise" it for you.
If only BMW could make a genuinely attractive bike...Not to beat a dead horse, but that front fairing/headlight design is hideous. The sound, as well, is uninspiring at best.
