      Torque converter lock up is at the completely wrong rpm, would be nice if you could set it at 2100rpm

      @@sammy_1_1 i hear you, drive line components like clutches/u-joints/axles can be called a "fuse" I suppose to protect the Diffs/transmission. better those break than the more expensive assemblies.

    I'd like to see this same test with a 12-speed manual. Auto and torque converter prevent this engine from working on the peak torque range.

    Add a torque converter that locks on first gear at around 2k rpm. I think it should do the trick

      @@MFKR696 you just said it, the vast majority. Some American semis do use automatics, mostly the modern ones in large fleets.

      @@ly_775 they use automatics, but most still don't use torque converters. It's automated manual transmission. It uses the air system to modulate the clutch and to shift gears. So if you release the brakes on most the truck won't move, you have to press the gas pedal and wait for the clutch to engage.

      @@sampic_ I know how automated manual works but thanks for the info though, I didn't know they used it in trucks, here where I live, we use European trucks and almost every single one of them uses torque converters

      @@ly_775 No - pretty much the only trucks (European) you'll find with torque converters are shunters (i.e. Terberg), garbage trucks and specialized applications. I've driven almost every modern EU truck and not a single one had a torque converter.

    I don't think the truck's weight was the limit but the fact that you didn't lock the rear diffs like you did with the interaxle transfer case.

    I think that in the last test the torque converter has some limitations on its own. Have you tried to make it a bit stronger?

    With peak torque at +-1700 rpm and peak power at 2000 rpm, I think that truck is able to deal with at least 50% extra trailer weight. If the cabin can hold it of course

      After adjusting the powerband, this could work. Trying to just change the max RPM won't do anything.

      I was going to say he should set the torque converter stall speed to around 2000 rpm. It’s way down on power at 2500.

    It couldve done so much better, if the auto would shift at 2k rpm, look at the power graph, also last vid with drag race, if you wouldve shifted earlier it wouldve been much quicker

      It's not absolutely true, since the graph shows the torque and Power at Engine, and that is actually multiplied by the gears, so in theory the lower Power/torque in the lower gear and higher RPM can be better than higher Power/torque in engine but lower torque multiplication.

    There is a mod of a trailer with adjustable weight.
    Use manual transmission. Use arcade mode to launch and then put it back to manual. It will works nice.

      @@dosec2200 As soon the truck moves you put it back to manual. The first gear needs to be short so the truck wont stall.
      Unless the problem isnt the launch at all...

    8:55 no, the clutch slip is the problem. That thing isn't pulling much of nothing because most of your HP and TQ are just vanishing into the ether.

    Well if only the tranny lets the engine operates at around 2200 rpm at full throttle, the engine would've pull the load much easier since the power peaks at around that range

    i find it amusing that it took a computer generated 2 stroke detroit to be the first one that could respectfully pull a hill.in my neck of the woods even a 430 hp 8v92 you had to be on the low side of the trans to keep the rpms above 1500.with a 9 speed & 4.10 rears.where cats & cummins could do it on the high side of the trans with simalar trans & rears.
