I swear to god, when I first completed this campaign and saw that ending I almost cried. No other CoD made you feel the tragedy and horror of war like World at War did, and that's why it will forever be my favorite game of that series.
Totally agree, World at War doesn't glorify 'war' unlike the Modern Warfare series. I loved CoD 4 and wanted a sequel. Treyarch had a huge role to fill and delivered!
not the only 1 me i also almost cried and was like man i wish i was with thise who gave their lives in this war but roach and ghost that ending in mw2 made me so like like i dont know what to say made and emitional
Truly, one of the best CoD games out there. They didn’t give a shit about being child-friendly or whatever, and actually tried to depict it at least more accuratrly than the joke of CoD WW2.
cod finest hour cod 1 cod 2 cod 3 a WAW best fucking games including the old medal of honers because they were nostalgic and fun I love the theatre of real warfare
@@jonathanoxlade4252 Black Ops was a pretty good interpretation of the Cold War too. But after that, the series went off the deep end with hyper futurism, that’s when they lost me.
The reason why I loved this game so much is because of the story and the loading screens. This game taught me a lot about World War 2 and that is why i like the older games because they can actually teach you something about history.
Almost everything I know about WWII was learned from video games, books I got on my own time, and documentaries. Schools are absolutely awful at teaching history for whatever reason. I can’t say one thing I learned about WWII In a classroom (which was very little) that I didn’t already know from another source. It’s a very sad state of affairs. Buy a game for 60 bucks, learn more than you would for thousands of dollars of tuition.

Best Call of Duty game ever. Good ol' days playing it for hour's on end. Sadly, the hackers have ruined online and it's near impossible to play it and enjoy a multiplayer game.
Cheers guys. when i can afford it after paying my big bills this month, i shall see if i can get it. If anyone has steam, i would love to get a team together! since none of my friends have it. let me know and ill message you fellas my steam name. :) kenny vn NuclearRevolution *****
Without a doubt this is the best CoD ever made. The campaign is full of memorable moments with awesome characters. Multiplayer felt smooth with powerful weapons (yes i'm looking at you MP40). And last but not least, zombies. Zombies will always have a special place in my heart. From the badass Dempsey to the OP PPSH it will always be the thing which made CoD fun for me.

Ah, the memories are flooding back to me. I played this game when I was barely 4 years old. From how young I was, the things I saw in that game a permanently stuck in my mind. I can never forget how it all went down.
Replaying this 10 years later on veteran mode. I can safely say this is as close to an intense war of attrition as a game about World War II's last days should be. Countless deaths, senseless brutality and edging towards an exhausting, costly victory as Japan and Germany make last stands to the bitter end. What a game.
I really appreciate that you're doing these kind of movie like games with no commentary and that you're moving your character so smooth, like it would actually be real. Thought I was the only one doing this while playing games. Keep 'em coming!
I got so pissed at my 6th grade history teacher when he tried correcting me throughout an entire class that emperor hirohito planned the entire attack and carried it out on pearl harbor when it was adm. yamamoto when there was this magnificent freaking game existing. Btw, still pissed at you Mr. Clowes, still pissed.
Technically, both of you are right...and also wrong. Emperor Hirohito had the decision, Adm. Yamamoto was in charge of its operation. But Hirohito is not a military leader, but plan of attacking Pearl Harbor was not only Yamamoto's credits, more like Japanese High Command's plan and Yamamoto successfully executed it.
Eh it's 6th grade history it's not that serious, if it was a college level Japanese history course sure, also of course a teacher is gonna correct a 6th grader, that's their job, not all 6th graders are gonna know anything about ww2
If anyone interested, here's the timeline in chronological order: 0:29 Prologue 1:46 Semper Fi (August 17, 1942) 22:20 Vendetta (September 17, 1942) 8:34 Little Resistance 14:11 Hard Landing 41:44 Burn 'em Out (September 15, 1944) 44:44 Relentless (September 16, 1944) 1:04:11 Black Cats (April 3, 1945) 35:14 Their Land, Their Blood 48:35 Blood & Iron (April 16, 1945) 52:27 Ring of Steel (April 23, 1945) 58:24 Eviction (April 24, 1945) 1:25:10 Heart of the Reich 1:29:10 Downfall (April 30, 1945) 1:34:54 Epilogue Part I 1:12:32 Blowtorch and Corkscrew (May 14, 1945) 1:17:00 Breaking Point (May 29, 1945) 1:35:09 Epilogue Part II
Whoever was responsible for the cutscenes for this, let it be known. That person is no less than a genius. It's so creative, soulful and impactful. How they achieved that with just a few seconds of videos is beyond my understanding
The amount of times I got chills from this game is unreal. The voice acting is great, the script is well written, and it is dark. It really encapsulates quite a bit of what the war had to be like. Bloodiest war in human history, it needs to be accurate as possible least we forget everyone that suffered and/or died.
"We are gathered here, representatives of the major warring powers, to conclude a solemn agreement, whereby peace may be restored. It is my earnest hope, and indeed the hope of all mankind, that from this solemn occasion, a better world shall emerge out of the blood and carnage if the past -- a world dedicated to the dignity of man and fulfillment of his most cherished wish for freedom, tolerance, and justice." - General Douglas MacArthur, 1945
These graphics still look amazing in 2021. Seriously, this game was so far ahead of its time, just look at the other games that were being put out in 2008. I still remember those ads where the soldier would spray the flamethrower over the title screen and being amazed by how realistic it looked. No other game has blown me away quite like this one. Graphically, story wise. Nazi zombies was just the icing on the cake. This is as good as COD ever got. Black Ops was also good and was a worthy sequel to WAW, but after that it went downhill very quickly.
The way this game depicts ww2 is phenomenal I love how it shows you different perspectives on both the soviets and the US and the horrors of war in general along with the music just makes it one of the most scariest cods ever and for the zombies mode it's a very iconic game mode as you feel very hopeless because you are inside a run down building with nowhere to go and it's not even on the map, you have very little fire power, space and there's no sound effect whatsoever apart from the zombies and the fire crackling on the barrels
Man if there's any game Treyarch should remaster for New Gen, it's World at War. Such a masterpiece, really want to play the campaign again, so so good.
The reasons why it's so hard on veteran is because if you don't advance forward from your position enemy's will keep spawning plus they constantly spam grenades lol
DjMeowMixAlot well that's what everyone did, moving forward...what are you suppose to do? Stay in one spot? You're dead when you stay put because they start advancing towards you or grenade spam and moving forward kills you because enemy bullets are one-two shot kill. Either choice you make is a death sentence. Its all about timing and luck.
+Bobby Hill And very fast reflexes! Haven't tried the veteran option yet, might as well give it a try. Who knows, maybe I'll be better at it after all those years. YEAH RIGHT! LOL
+Jennifer Arp Thanks, I like most things the old way you know? Modern gaming is just too much Sci Fi, sex and drugs. I like classic and good games. I really hope that someone will make a GREAT World War 2 game in the future showing us players how terrifying war is. While I'm waiting for my World at War, I am playing Heroes and Generals. Search it up "Heroes and Generals" it's a good WW2 game but it's online and has no storyline.
+Alexander Evensen Yeah like bo3 and Aw shows war to be fun bc u have EXO suits etc but in reality its a bloodbath nothing like the movies nor the games
world at war the movie.written and directed by tom hanks.starring kiefer sutherland as roebuck and gary oldman as reznov.also featuring ken watanabe as tojo and ed harris as general amsel.
Everything that was asked of us, we've done. Every night we lay in a filthy foxhole praying the enemy won't slit our throats. Every day we crawled around in the mud and dirt as bullets whistled over us. Once we take over Shuri Castle, we'll go home... All of us.
1:35:39 The ending cinematic was amazing. I like the style of all of the cinematics in this game. Hopefully Treyarch makes another WW2 game next and uses this :D
This game pays respect and the view every gi has during the most deadly war in human history may those who fought in this destructive war Rest In Peace
+Gavin Soemotinojo Heck, I kept hitting that button to counter attack them with my knife, thinking that some Japanese soldier was coming straight to me. Good old times!! And I just finished the game again, for good old memories, and rest assure: I was AGAIN hitting that button like crazy (tho most of the times no enemy was in fact around me). LOL Old habits don't die fast, huh. ^^
I think cuz the american side was focused on the Japanese theater, if they make World At War 2 (Many hints lately coming from Treyarch) then they could do the German theater! They need to make this game, if they do it could bring sooooo many people back, tbh the game started going downhill after this game (the community died and everyone became a douchebag, during this game people actually used something called strategy!)
There’s not one video game out there that captures the brutality and atmosphere of World War 2 better than World at War (I also like how they chose the Pacific War and the Eastern, two of arguably the most inhuman conflicts of WW2)
This game actually teaches us better about history than just sitting in class reading boring ass books. We should start playing games like this in class
You know, playing this game and watching this game is different. When playing this game you miss words that are said or certain things, while watching your like “oh I missed that”
Yea it is nice to be able to not get distracted with other things, and be able to catch the smaller details without having to play the game all over again.
In WaW: Final Fronts PS2 edition, this mission is instead the Battle of Tarawa and the further Pacific Theater missions also take place in Saipan and eventually Okinawa.
i like how in older cods like before black ops2 and ghosts and advanced warfare they BASED MULTIPLAYER maps on the campaign wich made the game more realistic and fun to cant wait till black ops3 or WaW 2
If this game was an actual movie, it would be my favorite movie of all time. The story telling, Dialogue, soundtrack visuals and aesthetics are phenomenal.
WW2 cods were the best of all time they were the games of my childhood and at the time these graphics were fantastic and the story even with unreal stuff in it still followed what actually happened
+Elk army Same too love that game i have that game but i cant play because i got a error.when i play the game it said"Call of duty is stopped working":(.can someone help me pls?
Robert Meade no I don't think so. The Xbox360 versions of the game will likely be available via backward compatibility eventually....but Ghost and AW are the only two COD's available on Xbox One.
2018 is Treyarch's next game... hopefully they have seen the demand for a World War shooter and will make a game like WaW even if its not a direct sequel.
I swear to god, when I first completed this campaign and saw that ending I almost cried. No other CoD made you feel the tragedy and horror of war like World at War did, and that's why it will forever be my favorite game of that series.

And hopefully with more emphasis on singleplayer.
TheSuperCanuck mmh yes and the environment instead of having just slap in a few dozens buildings unlike their modern games.

world at war the movie.written and directed by tom hanks.starring kiefer sutherland as roebuck and gary oldman as reznov.also featuring ken watanabe as tojo and ed harris as general amsel.
Best campaign for me!! I really miss this game!
Everything that was asked of us, we've done. Every night we lay in a filthy foxhole praying the enemy won't slit our throats. Every day we crawled around in the mud and dirt as bullets whistled over us. Once we take over Shuri Castle, we'll go home... All of us.
imma watch all cod series(btw i never play cod T^T,thats why im so grateful when gamematics made all of cod )
Enjoy!
1:35:39 The ending cinematic was amazing. I like the style of all of the cinematics in this game. Hopefully Treyarch makes another WW2 game next and uses this :D
so many great memories
I always play this with no background music and i feel like i am at war
Without music, this game is a bit worst.
1:01:08 “Do you hear him complaining?” Literally never speaks or complains.
This game pays respect and the view every gi has during the most deadly war in human history may those who fought in this destructive war Rest In Peace
I would buy a Xbox 360 just for this game. They should remaster it too
That's what Id yesterday
+Ben Porter I did
Smithy 54321 it is remastered FOR Xbox one
I'm been playing this again and again for years
you put time and effort in your videos I'm excited to see more videos
+Mark 203 Thanks Mark for noticing! We definitely do the best possible job we can.
+Gamematics i like your all movie even this C O D WORLD AT WAR thanks for this video i love it
Flashbang Cqb My pleasure! Thank you for your support and the comment! Really appreciate it!
Ha! Almost forgot the “Saving Private Ryan” reference from the first level
everybody remember the first time you heard the banzai cry in the game ? it was terrifying
+TheOpelkoenjas Lol I like the old CoD games too
Gavin Soemotinojo Same here. ^^
I have been searching for this type of gameplay videos for too long thank you so much for this man. I appreciate this
Ryland Oon No problem! My pleasure!
Gamematics ummmmmmmmm this is a reference to vasily zaytsev
Gamematics the famous russian sniper
The story of the Russian side is great. The American side was not as good.
***** What I liked about the American story was Kiefer Sutherland voice. But I agree the Russian story was really good.
I agree. Russian side is best.
im russian :p
I think cuz the american side was focused on the Japanese theater, if they make World At War 2 (Many hints lately coming from Treyarch) then they could do the German theater! They need to make this game, if they do it could bring sooooo many people back, tbh the game started going downhill after this game (the community died and everyone became a douchebag, during this game people actually used something called strategy!)
ogrusky cool story
There’s not one video game out there that captures the brutality and atmosphere of World War 2 better than World at War (I also like how they chose the Pacific War and the Eastern, two of arguably the most inhuman conflicts of WW2)
WW2 this may sound weird but i like the history of WW2
+gruntkiller9999 Me to.
Its interesting
Yep
In Wut way is it weerd
i am an idiot some people find it weird that i like the history of WW 2 cause of its interesting hisotry
This game actually teaches us better about history than just sitting in class reading boring ass books. We should start playing games like this in class
***** This game is accurate but not detailed enough to learn anything substantial.
Actually most battle sequences in this game aren't nearly as dramatic as the real thing
1:44 Pvt. Miller - 'Semper Fi', Makin Atoll

You know, playing this game and watching this game is different. When playing this game you miss words that are said or certain things, while watching your like “oh I missed that”
Yea it is nice to be able to not get distracted with other things, and be able to catch the smaller details without having to play the game all over again.
Gamematics exactly
Just found this game deep in a closet . As long as no one is cheating this game is better then advanced warfare
FINALLY SOMEONE WITH SENSE.
I played this game on the wii with the zapper gun, greatest gaming experience ever lol
Make call of duty great again !
Reznov character is just iconic.
No one:
Gamematics: HoW dO sPrinT???
Edit: i actually almost cried when dimitri was so comitted to put the flag.....
That grenade sound still makes me snap awake and gives me chills.
The old cods were so fun and original, now they have to try wayyy too hard to make something original. MW2 was the start of the downfall.
Heard you were talkin shit
M
Like we wouldn't find out
gotta love the first mission guy give you a pistol and most players just replace it lol
I want a fucking remake of this masterpiece
In WaW: Final Fronts PS2 edition, this mission is instead the Battle of Tarawa and the further Pacific Theater missions also take place in Saipan and eventually Okinawa.
who else thinks they need to remaster this game, and black ops
+Lucas Games you mean cod4 m8
Can we just agree that the PP-SH and the Flamethrower were the two best weapons in COD history?
+airanator1212 MP40 in multiplayer. That was OP.
I love the flamethrower
world at war did a good job for call of duty™
i like how in older cods like before black ops2 and ghosts and advanced warfare they BASED MULTIPLAYER maps on the campaign wich made the game more realistic and fun to cant wait till black ops3 or WaW 2
This is so entertaining. Thank you Gamematics!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy the other game movies!
The chills I get when that final Nazi screams as Reznov mauls him to pieces
Luzur Sure why the hell not
Well you know what to do bro, film it an up on redtube and rake in that big cash
By far the best COD because of its history !!!
Exactly one of the reasons I got so into history in middle school and highschool
This game hold a special place in my heart
If this game was an actual movie, it would be my favorite movie of all time. The story telling, Dialogue, soundtrack visuals and aesthetics are phenomenal.
WW2 cods were the best of all time they were the games of my childhood and at the time these graphics were fantastic and the story even with unreal stuff in it still followed what actually happened
+Elk army Same.
+Elk army Same too love that game i have that game but i cant play because i got a error.when i play the game it said"Call of duty is stopped working":(.can someone help me pls?
Reznov is in black ops too... Right? Ah...I never played this game... Keep up the good work man.. Peace!
One of the best Call of Duty games ever. Still better than CoD: WW2 game. Period.
I would agree with that.
I really wish Treyarch would've made a part 2 of this instead of BO 3...fail
blckmgc322 I think they made BO3 because COD AW had the machine theme....and it was a natural progression. I bet the revisit WWII again eventually...
Gamematics do you think every COD that's been made is on Xbox 1 I hope so then I can play them I realize Black ops 3 is on Xbox 1 OK.
Robert Meade no I don't think so. The Xbox360 versions of the game will likely be available via backward compatibility eventually....but Ghost and AW are the only two COD's available on Xbox One.
OK I know Black Ops 1 in on Wii
2018 is Treyarch's next game... hopefully they have seen the demand for a World War shooter and will make a game like WaW even if its not a direct sequel.
Thanks for making dude! Really great job!
This is best COD ever I still play it. Btw great vid
+The Crazy Gamer thanks!
