What an awesome guide! We need more comprehensive and fun build guides like these for Nioh! There aren't too many gamers doing them. Thanks for the video!
By the way, I have no idea why I said Nioh 3. One can only hope we get that many sequels, I suppose! haha I hope everyone enjoys the build and style of play; like I said in the video, it has plenty of room to be optimized, and is flexible enough to be altered to fit varying play-styles, whether that's a more safe, projectile play-style or a riskier one centered around doing even more damage at critical health levels. There's been good discussion so far, so keep sharing your ideas and repping Nioh!
Brandon Mcneil Thanks for the advice ha I look forward to em. Btw,Way of the strong is wat lv requirements ? I have to kill that Centipede boss to farm for his thing??
THE HINDSIGHT UPDATE: Hey, everyone! I'm glad my video is making some waves in the community; share the video, own the build, and continue having a great time in this great game. I'd like to highlight some things I've learned, whether from continued play or from the community, that I wish I added in the video or would supplement the content of the video. You'll find this "Hindsight Update" compiled in the description. There's nothing as powerful as focusing on DFB or FBD as this build does, but remember, it's about having fun and trying new things, not merely chasing numbers; that's how my build, The Assassin, was discovered. Enjoy!
Thank you. That's the first and most important thing I want to say. It's December and I've only just started the "Bloodshed's End" DLC and one of the side missions, "Raid on the Hirano River" was murdering me; I literally stayed up until 4am trying to beat the boss in that mission and was failing so miserably I would have made a one-legged man look like a champion in a race against Usain Bolt. Then I come across your video. Did 90% of everything you recommended and BAM! Mission completed, first re-try since my 4am Nioh binge, and here I am thanking you profusely. I was on the verge of selling my disc out of rage. The game may have been bashed in the face with a nerf-warhammer since February, but your build is still solid. Again, thanks a million!
I saw a reddit post already talking about one improvement to this build. Add the Yasanaki Magatama to lower set bonus requirements, then swap out one Kingo Set piece for another Warrior of the West set piece for that 10.2% extra Close Quarters Damage from the 4 set piece bonus (Bow + Sword + Chestpiece + Magatama). For the purposes of weight, the chest piece saves the most weight, since the Warrior of the West set is lighter than Kingo's.
Adam Atkins, that does sound like an improvement. Is that accessory able to roll any of the other important special effects like Yokai close combat damage or increase damage to status affected enemies? If so, that's a great idea. I haven't seen one of those yet.
I dunno yet, I'm going through the process of making this build right now, so I haven't got all this put together yet. But I have come up with a further improvement. If one wishes to go through the extra effort they could get superior damage on bosses by replacing one more kingo armor piece with another Warrior of the West piece, and make sure to attune two elemental thunder shot magic. This eliminates the 7.1% boost from Kingo's, but adds a 27.5% boost against electrified enemies. Against a boss, tossing three thunder shots should be enough to proc electricity, triggering the superior boost while also slowing the enemy down like Sloth. You can add Sloth after this for a double slow. Then the innate water element on your sword will trigger discord, if they live long enough. But if they live that long, they are extra boned. For bosses immune to electricity, the previous setup will be optimal, but when it works... :)
I think water shots are even better since they stack with weakness talismans. So use weakness, water shot and carnage and bosses will cut down like butter.
If you pre-ordered the game, you can also swap out another piece for 19% Final Blow Damage from the Sanada Crimson Set, but then you'll lose the 8.2% or whatever the last bonus from Kingo gives :)
If you press the options button when looking at an item you can scroll through the effects and it will tell you exactly what something does. For example to differentiate between defensive and offensive stats (dmg from behind).
happyaccidents, Sweet! Glad to hear that. Take the build, augment it, and own it! I'm excited to see where the devs take this game and how it affects the community's build creations. This is probably the best game since Witcher 3 to me.
You sir got a new sub. I really like nioh its a fun game but ya 9/10 people u summon have red demon set i love crushing them with my tri spark axe combo.
Amazing Video man.. Holds good even after a year... Thanx a lot for this - Learnt a lot from you (was running around with a living weapon like an idiot before this) To all who have been asking: YES - This build still holds good today. Tweak around a little bit to even improve this - Iam on patch 1.21
hey man found myself watching this on my lunch break and really enjoyed it been trying out new builds since I best the game last weekend and started new game plus love the challenge increase
Michael Bdog, I'm glad you liked it! I will also give you a heads up and say this video has information over a year old now, and several big pieces of dlc have come out since. There should be more up to date videos out there. It's a great game, isn't it?
My first build was on its' way to becoming something like this, but I decided to go for a max break build with Enko/dual swords/fire and wind talismans/weakness/kekkai/carnage/summon. Right now I have 90 break on dual swords, which instantly shatters NG+ Munsehiges guard with just the square/triangle/triangle combo. All the buffs and kusarigama passives mixed with high stance L1+triangle is strong enough to slaughter yokai in seconds too. NG+ bosses die in a matter of seconds, with each hit from behind doing about 4 or 5k damage fully buffed. Considering the attack speed, that adds up VERY fast. Like two shot NG Orochi heads fast, with whirlwind. With all the break they basically can't fight back. This is by far the best revenant/human killer I have come up with.
Amazing, I think I'm gonna try this build first thing when I head into NG+. From what I've heard, I'm gonna need to be at my A game to survive lol and this OP build will definitely help.
Jacen Mun, It's a great build for NG+. Some of the footage in this video is NG+, and now that I'm farther along in the regions in NG+, I'm debating about releasing more footage of me fighting bosses. It destroys any enemy if you play to its strengths, and it obliterates almost every boss that is susceptible to behind damage, which is most except the centipede and umi-bozu I've found. Kills the rest ridiculously fast. And it's fun being an assassin, right? Make sure to get that quick-change scrolls with the instant cast mystic arts; casting a 3+ minute "don't die" buff on yourself instantly, even while you block, run, or dodge, is powerful. Enjoy.
Thanks for the additional input and quick reply. I was wondering if I could get your opinion about whether or not the impact of the build will be similar if I decide to invest more points into Skill rather than Heart for damage? I do know Heart is the primary stat for sword, but putting points into Skill still ups the damage of sword (albeit by lesser scale?), right? Reason I ask is I wanted to switch between Sword and Dual Swords once in a while as my primary weapon without having to respec the build every time, and still take advantage of the behind-the-enemy damage. As far as I know, I think Skill is the better investment than Heart if I wanted to scale damage for both sword and dual swords (and spear?)... not 100% sure though.
Jacen Mun, Yep, that sounds right. Tailor the build to how you prefer to play. If you like dual swords and want them to be a viable weapon to switch to, beef up skill. Swords still scale off skill, just not nearly as much. You won't have that katana mystic art, either, if you switch to dual swords, but you will retain all the back damage and final blow damage from all the other ways. Just remember that the stats on your currently equipped (as in drawn/out) melee/long-ranged weapon applies stats to your character at that moment.
You could also opt for a katana that scales with skill as an A (as a special effect). I think I've seen some around. That'll make your play-style work great.
Nice build dude! Also with the accessory that gives -1 set requirements you probably could get away with 4 pieces of kingos and rock 2 pieces of armor+a weapon or two for another 4 or 5 set bonus
Amazing video. And yes, I do run Red Demon set but at least I do use the set spear! I also run a sword, but my build is nowhere near as lethal as yours. I should make a video on my build... It is an all around fun build with huge item/equip find and I decided to cap my level at 126 to not abuse the game too muchThanks for the great video.
Nice guide! A lot similar to my own original one. You're right about the Red Demon going crazy lol. I'm using the National Unity set primarily for the amrita and +10 bonus for Tengen Kujaku (Peacock). One key accessory that is super important in my opinion is the Yasakani Magatama. I never expected them to make that imperial treasure this good in the game! It reduces the set bonus requirements by one so right now I have the 2 piece bonus from WoTW, Japan's Bravest, Saika's Yatagarasu sets along with the full bonus from National Unity set. My playstyle is more sword-oriented along with Onmyo abilities though I ran a ninja build too. Lots of Books of Reincarnations to try out different builds and styles to finally settle with one. While I don't do that much damage, I do annihilate the dudes and demons of all sorts with relative ease. I just cleared the NG+ at level 209 and it was all super cool and easy thanks to being familiar with mechanics and patterns. Challenging at times but not impossible
You can increase the effectiveness of this build by simply using the yasakani magatami (or whatever the heck it is called), so you can remove the warrior of the west bow and implement the revenwing rifle for the sweet life recovery from bullseye, and most importantly you can remove a piece of the Kingo Armor and put on one of the Sanada set to increse the killing strike damage by a 16% or more, and not losing a single bonus you already have, 'cause yasakani is OP.
I don't have sandana :( But yes, there's several ways you can ekk out more damage from this build, especially with that magatama. I wrote about it a bit in the description. Thanks for the input!
I've still got a few major questions. How did you get all of the special effects at all the levels that you wanted? And how did you fill up every individual slot? How much money did this all end up costing, and how much of a matter of RNG is it? I guess I'm just not familiar enough with the armor and forging systems to understand. I suppose my ultimate question is this: What specifically did you do to get the equipment you wanted?
Masterxl MVs, I simply killed revenants (look for areas where players die a lot, like the bridge sub mission) or crafted gear to get the divine items I needed, and then I reforged to get the special effects I wanted. It probably cost several hundred-thousand gold total. With the accessories, that was just super RNG as they are a bit rarer to drop and you cant reforge. Does that help?
Masterxl MVs, You go to your application save data, I believe, in ur ps4 settings, system save data, upload to cloud, select ur two Nioh save items, upload it, then you launch the game, reforge, and if you don't get what you want and you spent a lot of gold, you can opt to go to your cloud saves in the settings and download the save you uploaded to overwrite the data you blew all your gold on, essentially erasing your loss. Repeat until you get what you want with the amount of gold used.
Ah. I see. Sounds grindy, but I guess that's to be expected. And what is your general strategy for going through a level? Do you just Catwalk and Suppa your way through while backstabbing everyone you come across?
+Masterxl MVs, somewhat. I just have with it. With suppa, it's fun to dismantle enemy ambushes (ninjas behind ways, etc.), or take out a priority target. If I'm just in the level for kodamas, I try to skip what I can. There are some scripted events--spiders falling when you walk past, revenant spawning, etc.--that might pull you out of suppa which is kinda lame, but doesn't happen much. I did notice that if you kill an enemy with a back attack rather than a finisher, you retain your suppa invisibility, which is sweet.
i think some people use hyper mode: drop to 0 hp, resurrect , enter living weapon and if they still keep 1 hp or so , all critical status bonuses apply while living weapon shields them. i am not sure if thats how it works though, but i saw some people do something like that.
Got this build to work and its my favorite of the OP builds i have tried. Sure i die in 1 hit pretty much on NG+ but the damage is insane. I killed Nue in like 3 seconds once i got behind him on NG+
I just dropped this build last week when I realized I was killing things too fast to enjoy it. It is a great build for farming bosses except orochi. He doesn't have a back to attack ;~;
I am sad now. I finished the game (100% platinum) using Oroboro's living weapon guide starting on NG+ and just plowing through everything. I would have liked to try this but I don't think I can go back before some updates or new DLC is coming out :-( Oh well, thanks for the build. Looks pretty good.
All this time I was convinced that there is only one "Damage from behind" kind of bonus and it is the offensive one... thanks for clearing things up, translation in this game is horrendous in some cases.
after i beat the game i started using this set up (as the whole green armor set droped from some revenats) because the warrior of the west set wasnt as good any more (the like 50% extra damage was great but it wasnt as good anymore later in the game when finishing blows and backstabs are better) so thanks for the advice adn info
i dont use a whole lot of ninja shit, i find it less powerful than the magic, i know it doesn't give a damage boost but the dragon guardian will straight up know down any human hit regardless of there ki
also if u use the peacock u get like 60% more dmg after using amrita in high stance, so it kinda beats every other spirit, u can even just eat a crystal with amarita to get the bonus before first kill or pick amrita from any drop body on floor or chest
Great video Ditronus! How long did it take you to get the special effect, damage from behind on your sword? I've reforged probably 60 times now with no results.
I'm learning that it seems some special effects don't share a "pool" with other special effects, meaning it will never cycle to a particular one if it's not in said pool. Perhaps try recording what ones keep appearing, making a new sword, and avoid trying to replace those with DFB or FBD.
Ditronus I think that's totally the case. I have life recovery by final blow as a special effect. I'm going to remove it and see if I can get the Damage from behind stat by removing that one. I'm still one shotting yokai from behind even without it. This build is so awesome.
just adding to this if you craft the amour yourself the stats needed is reduced to six. also if you want to farm for it the sub mission "The Giant Frog Brawl" drops it pretty much every time
Good build but I have a few complaints or recommendations if you do call it. I personally believe this build could be so much better with the yanasanki magatama that allows to get a full set bonus with only half the pieces. So that means you can put on the iga set or something that increases your damage by a ton
+Jack Baker Wow, yea, that sounds like a nice improvement. Like I said in my description, I had hoped this build would be improved upon once I put it out there. I didn't even know that special effect existed. Nice!
+Jack Baker, Do you have any thoughts about what armor set you would use with that accessory to make it better than having 15% Yokai Damage or increased damage to enemies with status affects? I need to keep my eye out for that accessory.
+Jack Baker, I think the accessory (which seems to be an improved royal ring of grandeur) would open up some more unique and fun options, but I'm fairly certain that the special effects on the iga, even at 4 pieces, wouldn't equate to the damage output of 15% Yokai Damage or the 20-22% more damage to poisoned or paralyzed enemies.
It can be crafted, once you find the smithing text, or even more easily gotten from revenants in areas where people die a lot--such as the bridge sub-mission.
Possible update question? Has this build been patched? I have more Heart, attack from behind, and final blow damage than what is shown in the video, and my final blows do nowhere even CLOSE to this much damage.
i tried doing everything you did in the vid i'm level 128 bought all the same magics & stuff but i dont hit that hard lol :( i hit around like 600 outside of LW & like 1k in LW :(( i have no idea what im doing wrong.. did they nerf a bunch of this dmg or something?
Shiro Einherjar Check the stats on his weapons and armor. Check the set bonuses. I did a Kaido-Mononobe build and focused on the Strong Attack damage up and did some absurd damage output with it (comboed Hundred Eyes in one hit, on NG+). His stats are important too. But yeah, it's all the passive Final Blow and Damage from Behind up on his armor. Makes you do dumb damage on crits.
Rene p Soares, no it is defensive. Armor and accessories are defensively oriented like I showed in the video. Just make sure you are running all the sources for damage from behind and killing blow.
It means it scales the attack value on your weapon based on the amount of heart (the attribute in your status screen) you have. The higher the letter (A in this instance), means it will scale better. Familiarity can raise this special effect, too. Does this help?
Do the starting guardian and/or starting weapon choices matter at all in this build or no? Can you pick anything and then build your character to this level easily? What were your starting choices if I might ask? Great video btw, thanks for posting!
I don't quite remember my starting choices (like, eight when I started the game?). You can use books of reincarnation to respec all your skill points and amrita though. They are pretty abundant and can be bought for an increasing cost at the blacksmith and tea house for gold or glory, and are also a reward for a handful of missions in normal and ng+ modes. I used several of them to test out different playstyles to find something strong yet fun.
as for the set its very glass cannon, i personally stack takenashi or oyamatsumi + 4-5 different pieces to rack up defence reduction., with -1 req accessory each piece counts as 2 giving u multiple dmg reduction bonuses. without it ur very likely to be 1 shotted.
i am now running this build and i have a question, right now to mix max as much as i can i am looking for the best sword i can for it, at current i have the set sword and the warrior of the west sword BUT i would like a sword with higher damage multiplayer, i found that nobanagas sword and the one that drops off the last boss have the higher i have found so far but i have a problem with the ladder as it scales with spirit not heart and always seems to deal less damage (night now i have like 52 heart and 25 spirit) what sword would you recommend to really bring out that little extra pow in the damage! thank you! also you might want to add some advice later, for instance i found that using haze 2 really helps ALOT as when you counter with it it puts you behind that target and then attacks, this attack on its own deals grapple damage but the attack from behind bonus adds in, then on top of that it will knock down or stagger the target, if they get knocked down you can hit them with a finisher and if there staggered you can give them a little boop to knock them down and finish them off ^.^ tempest works well if you know how to use it and are good with the timing!
hi, how do you get both "Final blow damage" and "Damage from behind" on your sword? They are abilities from the same pool so you can have only one of them at a time, right? How do you have them both? I spent all of my materials and cant get them both. :(
I managed to have both those bonuses but only by Soul Matching with another weapon that has a bonus that can be inherited. I was trying to have all three bonuses: Final Blow Dagame, Damage From Behind, Close Combat Dagame.
With the Yasakani Magatama, 5 Piece Warrior of the West+ 5 Piece Kingo is vastly superior. Also, once you get up to around level 250+, 5 Piece Warrior of the West + 5 Piece Warrior of the East becomes even better. I would venture to say it's the best all around offense+defense build. Also an honorable mention is 5 Piece Warrior of the West+4 piece Yagyo Shinkagi+ Nue Mask. Pure lighting havoc.
Ditronus I don't really make videos but the lighting build is mostly about Paired Raiken Living weapon. Stack Living weapon bonuses on top of close combat/yokai damage. You just run through everything. Keep a stack of amrita crystals to charge/maintain your guage as needed.
Ditronus Also just to add, although it has some ramp up time, the HIGHEST potential damage in the game comes from 5 Piece Warrior of the West + Either 5 Piece Red Demon or 5 Piece Daichii Damean Dichi(Whatever lol, the wind set). Once you stack the lighting debuff and either fire or wind, depending on the set it adds +/- 70% close combat damage plus the "confusion" debuff from multi-element which empties and stops all ki regeneration and removes all defense. Can 1 shot anything in the game, it's just not practical on anything but bosses.
Great video, me too was trying out the kingo set recently to maximize my damage, I do have a question though, is the passive skill you learned from one particular weapon skill tree is going to affect all weapons I am using? For example the spear has a passive which increase my damage when my health is low, do I still receive the bonus if I am using the other weapon like a sword?
So the ability's for back attack in say kasuri-gama effect sword back attack i thought they only worked for that particular weapon the tree is for ....now i have to reset lol great guide think i will tinker with this .i would like to try and make a ray dihmitri style one shot build any other suggestions?
I'm trying to get DFB and FBD but it isn't possible on the armor. Also I get only one of them on my sword. Can't explain why. Can someone please explain me where I am wrong? Please. I'm getting mad
1 thing i dont get is how defence works. I stacked 6000 defence, -40% from yokai and 62% dmg reduction and still get 2 shotted, does it even stack? and what exactly defence alone means? 5000-6000 defence means what exactly?
What I never understood is how you get the Final Blow stat in your weapon. I’ve tried reforging normally and with umbracite and I still never get the stat, same goes for attack from behind.
Thanks for the tips. I like the idea of your assassin built. I'm still in NG. How can I build Atagi Sadamune (the sword) with high enough water points? I kept getting +9 and below. How can I get more than that?
it has probably to do with the rarity of your weapon. you shouldn't have access to divine gear, since you still haven't finished ng. skills on weapons get stronger the higher familiarity you get with them. a blue weapon's max familiarity is 750 for example. a green weapon can get up to 999 familiarity. i have a weapon with water 12 that becomes water 17 by just using it long enough.
I have a question in your video your weapon has final blow damage and damage from behind but in 1.06 all I can find is killing strike (aka final blow) but i cannot find damage from behind so has it all changed or different versions I have European version
on my overleveled guy fanatic+kusarigama+Kato+carnage crit build can do like 18K per back attack on Oda in co-op. so like 54K in one and half seconds. throw in weakness and I've seen 24K on one hit. Raven tengu on demon king revealed in co-op get killed in one blade spin from the front with no carnage. they'd probably die in one hit with carnage on and from behind. basically all non boss yokai die in one blade spin from the front. boss yokai need like two spins if you can land the back attack (with carnage).
is there a reason for stopping at equipment B vs going for A? just assuming A would give more DMG or am I not correct. love the build by the way been playing it on my game havent yet beat the game but getting very close.
Hi Ditronus i hope you can respond to my inquiry. Was wondering where did you get that sword? And how is it were u able to reach that kind of final blow damage on that sword and at the same time has damage from behind? Thats insane. You wouldnt believe it but I literally did the exact look and stats of my character same as yours! So far my final blow to nobunaga is 17k when hes down when playing meeting on the other shore. My sword is not same as yours and dont have good accessories yet. Thanks!
I'm trying to copy this build but I die fast I dunno y, also where do u get such high dog sword? I've got green kingo without the sword and I'm farming the cccesory but with no luck.
First of all let me say that this is an awesome guide! I'd like to ask for your opinion on something though. What about using the Sanada Crimson armor pieces with the Yasakani Magatama? Just by equipping any piece of the crimson set gives you +19% Final Blow damage when crafted. That's what i'm using at the moment because the armor is not heavy and still keeps your agility at B.
hey Ditronus I was wondering, are the stat weights set? Because I noticed on your FBD you have around 23% or something, but I only get 17% on the one I have. is there a chance if I reroll to get a higher number?
hay ditronus any suggestions for early game build using this set up for like around lvl 63 ?? like what are some core stats I can use at lvl 63 thanks much in advance.
What an awesome guide! We need more comprehensive and fun build guides like these for Nioh! There aren't too many gamers doing them. Thanks for the video!
Jake Stidham, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Ditrounus I have a question or is the Kingo's armor ? Thanks have a nice Day
By the way, I have no idea why I said Nioh 3.
Ditronus Hey Mate, where do you farm that Kingo set? I am not clear on Divine items
Ditronus getting confused with darksouls there buddy :)
Star Wars :Rouge One. If have compleat the game and have the ability to you can craft it with centipede fang... Or something like that
Thanks for answering some comment questions. It helps everyone!
Close Combat Damage is also really good, and it's often inheritable :)
thanks man just watched dozens of videos with impossible solution your video is the only one that actually helped me
:)
yes it does
I think water shots are even better since they stack with weakness talismans. So use weakness, water shot and carnage and bosses will cut down like butter.
If you pre-ordered the game, you can also swap out another piece for 19% Final Blow Damage from the Sanada Crimson Set, but then you'll lose the 8.2% or whatever the last bonus from Kingo gives :)
thank you so much, you have made my life easier. Now I do more than 200 damage per attack.
If you press the options button when looking at an item you can scroll through the effects and it will tell you exactly what something does. For example to differentiate between defensive and offensive stats (dmg from behind).
Once I'm ready I mean on your level I'm going to go with this awesome build.. Nice video bro keep up the good work
It's fun! I hope you get to try it soon. Being able to stealth around and assassinate is a fun way to navigate through the trap-laden areas of Nioh.
I loved your Witcher 3 Build and this is on the same level of badassery.
happyaccidents, Sweet! Glad to hear that. Take the build, augment it, and own it! I'm excited to see where the devs take this game and how it affects the community's build creations. This is probably the best game since Witcher 3 to me.
what a well thought out video. thumbs up to you sir, not enough content creators doing this.
Thanks for the kind words!
yasakani magatama plus a piece of the sanada crimson set adds a nice touch to this build.
Built it, tried it, and love it. Thanks for the build friend.
The best Nioh guide for sure love your video man keep up the good work
You sir got a new sub. I really like nioh its a fun game but ya 9/10 people u summon have red demon set i love crushing them with my tri spark axe combo.
Daheadsmiter red demon armor everywhere, i also use an axe i love crushing them too
lol i do exactly same trispark spam cheese ±D
monobe axe or kaido
Amazing Video man.. Holds good even after a year... Thanx a lot for this - Learnt a lot from you (was running around with a living weapon like an idiot before this)
To all who have been asking: YES - This build still holds good today. Tweak around a little bit to even improve this - Iam on patch 1.21
hey man found myself watching this on my lunch break and really enjoyed it been trying out new builds since I best the game last weekend and started new game plus love the challenge increase
Hey thanks for the spoilers in the thumbnail, really appreciated that for a game that came out two weeks ago!
Excellent guide, great explanation, I'm going to try it!
Excellent guide. Trying it tonight. Thanks Ditronus
loved your voice dude, very soothing and comprehensible greetings from chile!
I love getting viewers from different parts of the world! Enjoy my friend.
Good guide and with a lot of detail. Thanks for the video!
Best is probably arguable, but the build looks like a bunch of fun and easy to follow. 👌Nice job!🤙
Hello this is Casey Kasem with America's top 40
Love the vids! Thank you for all the help
Awesome vid! I also think the way you are speaking is cool and entertaining, man 😀 subbed
Michael Bdog, I'm glad you liked it! I will also give you a heads up and say this video has information over a year old now, and several big pieces of dlc have come out since. There should be more up to date videos out there. It's a great game, isn't it?
Yeah I am addicted to the game.. Finished the story multiple times and loved every moment of it.
I did this build by myself probably 2 weeks ago. I didn't know this is probably one of the best
Finally a nice sword build, so sick of spear builds. Definitely trying this out.
this is the build I was looking for thx Brother! !! :-)
I'm glad it helped. Have fun!
This build seems really good. Gonna try this out and hope this helps me get through NG+
spell last longer skill is aweome, helps a lot with stealth duration and buffs
That's just fantastic, 10/10
greatest build I've seen. and I thought mine was good and balanced
very awesome thanks!!! going to give this a try!
Really good build still working at 21 XI 2019.
Ulfberg any problems with like yokai or bosses ? I’ve been thinking of doing this aswelll
@@ayoken2519 no problem all basic nioh without dlc is easy mode check my video i beat all weapon masters with this build around 1min
Where did you found the armor? Please I need help, because I cant find this
@@franciscocassetta5475 i farm this set from grave of death player.
Your build helped me a lot
Oh. Also, how exactly do I upload a save as a back-up in case I waste too much money? Just never done it before is all.
I did notice that if you kill an enemy with a back attack rather than a finisher, you retain your suppa invisibility, which is sweet.
i think some people use hyper mode: drop to 0 hp, resurrect , enter living weapon and if they still keep 1 hp or so , all critical status bonuses apply while living weapon shields them. i am not sure if thats how it works though, but i saw some people do something like that.
did this last night...overpowered.
Well, that's what I've been trying to do. Agree, kingo is the sword way
Got this build to work and its my favorite of the OP builds i have tried. Sure i die in 1 hit pretty much on NG+ but the damage is insane. I killed Nue in like 3 seconds once i got behind him on NG+
I just dropped this build last week when I realized I was killing things too fast to enjoy it. It is a great build for farming bosses except orochi. He doesn't have a back to attack ;~;
GRRRRRRRR OROCHI... TRIGGERED!
Yes, it is very much sometimes. Try clicking help and hovering over "Defense." All it says is "raises defensive power." Whoa, thanks Team Ninja! haha
I finally finished my version of this build!!!
after i beat the game i started using this set up (as the whole green armor set droped from some revenats) because the warrior of the west set wasnt as good any more (the like 50% extra damage was great but it wasnt as good anymore later in the game when finishing blows and backstabs are better) so thanks for the advice adn info
i dont use a whole lot of ninja shit, i find it less powerful than the magic, i know it doesn't give a damage boost but the dragon guardian will straight up know down any human hit regardless of there ki
also if u use the peacock u get like 60% more dmg after using amrita in high stance, so it kinda beats every other spirit, u can even just eat a crystal with amarita to get the bonus before first kill or pick amrita from any drop body on floor or chest
Where do you get this armor and weapons?
just adding to this if you craft the amour yourself the stats needed is reduced to six. also if you want to farm for it the sub mission "The Giant Frog Brawl" drops it pretty much every time
Hey, thank you for the guide. Is the guide updatet and works at the moment ? Thank you..Tick
Good build but I have a few complaints or recommendations if you do call it. I personally believe this build could be so much better with the yanasanki magatama that allows to get a full set bonus with only half the pieces. So that means you can put on the iga set or something that increases your damage by a ton
But you earned a sub I will enhance this build just a little as I'm a bit over levelled and have a ton of high gear
+Jack Baker, If only one would roll with all of the above effects! *whistles*
Hey I'm new to ur channel. this was a very helpful guide but where do i find the kingo's set? greetings from germany
It can be crafted, once you find the smithing text, or even more easily gotten from revenants in areas where people die a lot--such as the bridge sub-mission.
I killed a bunch of the red sword people you summon till I got the set.
Possible update question? Has this build been patched? I have more Heart, attack from behind, and final blow damage than what is shown in the video, and my final blows do nowhere even CLOSE to this much damage.
i would like to know too
same, does anyone know?
Me too
I have like 90 heart
cool video, I'm just at lvl 72 and enjoy the game but I will try this late on. I love Ninja style play.
i tried doing everything you did in the vid i'm level 128 bought all the same magics & stuff but i dont hit that hard lol :( i hit around like 600 outside of LW & like 1k in LW :(( i have no idea what im doing wrong.. did they nerf a bunch of this dmg or something?
If you want to be sure, click on the OPTIONS button on your controller and highlight the skill. It tells you if its offensive or defensive.
Dude. Awesome video
Awesome guide, thanks for sharing :)
One question: What does Change to attack (heart) mean?
It means it scales the attack value on your weapon based on the amount of heart (the attribute in your status screen) you have. The higher the letter (A in this instance), means it will scale better. Familiarity can raise this special effect, too. Does this help?
Yeah got it! Thx for the reply
I used several of them to test out different playstyles to find something strong yet fun.
as for the set its very glass cannon, i personally stack takenashi or oyamatsumi + 4-5 different pieces to rack up defence reduction., with -1 req accessory each piece counts as 2 giving u multiple dmg reduction bonuses. without it ur very likely to be 1 shotted.
dude said “elaxers”😂 rs though. this is a really good guide and you’re right about the mystic art for the magic. had to switch to that.
i am now running this build and i have a question, right now to mix max as much as i can i am looking for the best sword i can for it, at current i have the set sword and the warrior of the west sword BUT i would like a sword with higher damage multiplayer, i found that nobanagas sword and the one that drops off the last boss have the higher i have found so far but i have a problem with the ladder as it scales with spirit not heart and always seems to deal less damage (night now i have like 52 heart and 25 spirit) what sword would you recommend to really bring out that little extra pow in the damage! thank you! also you might want to add some advice later, for instance i found that using haze 2 really helps ALOT as when you counter with it it puts you behind that target and then attacks, this attack on its own deals grapple damage but the attack from behind bonus adds in, then on top of that it will knock down or stagger the target, if they get knocked down you can hit them with a finisher and if there staggered you can give them a little boop to knock them down and finish them off ^.^ tempest works well if you know how to use it and are good with the timing!
Yay now there's a bunch of revanants with kingos and red demons.
hi, how do you get both "Final blow damage" and "Damage from behind" on your sword? They are abilities from the same pool so you can have only one of them at a time, right? How do you have them both? I spent all of my materials and cant get them both. :(
Duy just scroll through all melee weapons and check out there passives, dont forget about those samurai locks
I'm not asking about skills, its about reforging weapons.
Just reforge woth divine materials, it tends to get rarer to get for the amount of rares you have on one weapon
I managed to have both those bonuses but only by Soul Matching with another weapon that has a bonus that can be inherited. I was trying to have all three bonuses: Final Blow Dagame, Damage From Behind, Close Combat Dagame.
They dont share the same pool, I got 23% Damage from behind and 18% Final blow damage on my sword ALL OUT REFORGING, no soul match required.
When you fought Oda nobunaga and yuki onna, we're you on the ng mission or ng+ mission
Thanks for your thoughts! Sounds interesting. I'd love to see that lightning build in action. Thought about doing a video for it?
Can 1 shot anything in the game, it's just not practical on anything but bosses.
thank you for this guideline =)
Great video, me too was trying out the kingo set recently to maximize my damage, I do have a question though, is the passive skill you learned from one particular weapon skill tree is going to affect all weapons I am using? For example the spear has a passive which increase my damage when my health is low, do I still receive the bonus if I am using the other weapon like a sword?
Fan William Yes
Man, your voice sounds amazing, have youever thougt about voice acting?
Thanks!
You think you can create a similar strong build as this around Usura-Hicho, the butterfly guardian?
Nice video!, d u know how can I get damage from behind bonus ?
wait, if you get a passive for a kusarigama does it affect your other weapons too?
I'm trying to copy this build but I die fast I dunno y, also where do u get such high dog sword? I've got green kingo without the sword and I'm farming the cccesory but with no luck.
So is not necessary to have the actual weapon to get the buff? What I mean is if I have a sword would I get the buff from the spear tree?
First of all let me say that this is an awesome guide! I'd like to ask for your opinion on something though. What about using the Sanada Crimson armor pieces with the Yasakani Magatama? Just by equipping any piece of the crimson set gives you +19% Final Blow damage when crafted. That's what i'm using at the moment because the armor is not heavy and still keeps your agility at B.
dude sick build!!!
how do you get a sword above 1000 damage? Mine is max 953 with all proficiency max... Please advise
what if u have more then 1 agility bonus? they stack or just 1 applies?
Thanks am using this build now its really great but how much stamina u need to get agility A ? Am lvl 178 or where to put my lvl point after heart 99?
when i search in google for kingo's armor it looks totally different than what ur wearing here am i missing something here?
hey Ditronus I was wondering, are the stat weights set? Because I noticed on your FBD you have around 23% or something, but I only get 17% on the one I have. is there a chance if I reroll to get a higher number?
Hey man your guide is so awesome and i end up using them :D btw how about prestige points? Where should i use it for this build?
Think you can do a light armor build?
Yep I’m still stuck on rolling away for 20 minutes until getting one shotted
hay ditronus any suggestions for early game build using this set up for like around lvl 63 ?? like what are some core stats I can use at lvl 63 thanks much in advance.
