❤❤ if I drove this would be my dream car❤❤
Great looking car!!
Only selling because I need a new enclosed car trailer.
Love the interior
Beautiful Gp,my first car at 16 back in 1990 was a 72 J model with the 400.. Absolutely loved that car.. One of the cars that I wished I still owned.. Being young and not knowing the value of what I had,SMH!!
Thanks!
Sweet ride.
I have owned 3 of these my 71 was my favorite it's the exact same body styles as 72 and I can tell you this these cars look so much better without vinyl I would rip that vinyl off so fast fast.
Thanks. I am keeping car as original as possible. It is a low mileage survivor.
The 72 SSJ had a half vinyl roof. Those were done by Hurst and not at Pontiac. I am not sure but I don't think the factory did a landau roof in 72. Possibly a year or two later.
Mime is a model J. Same color! Same year! 130k miles
nice!
Dad had a 72 base model , I might be wrong but it seemed his had a landau roof , did they put them on these cars ?
Strange, I do not see the rear window switches. Very nice car! My parents had a 71 455 SJ in Baja Gold with Tan top and Saddle Brown interior. They were the second owners in 1972. It had power windows, power driver's seat, custom sport PMD steering wheel, interior lights in the doors, and it also had the corner turning lamps outside the front fenders next to the SJ badge. Strange thing was the vinyl Tan top did not have the trim that goes around the top of the roof like yours. Our vinyl top stopped all the way to the edge of the drip rail on top and went down the front pillars going under the hood.On the sides of the roof the vinyl went all the way to the edge of the rear window. I think the bottom trim ended closer next to the window. I have not seen a 71 or 72 GP with that type of vinyl roof configuration. Thanks for the video and the memories of a unique and very cool car.
The switches for the rear windows are there, just can't see them in the picture. The vinyl top on this car seems to have a different pattern than most. The vinyl texture/pattern is like the vinyl top material Hurst used on the SSJ GP and Hurst Olds cars. Thanks!
Right there at 00:27 it almost looks like a 72 Olds Cutlass!!!
From the door jamb to the rear bumper the quarter panel does look like a Cutlas Olds.
Crazy seeing the rare atc option my 69 has it but doesn’t work
Mine works but the compressor has a slow leak and loses freon over time. I need to fix that.
@@markcronk8109 wow! I’m jealous. What other rare options does your car have? I have a power seat and cruise control with tilt
@@noahshepherd5111 just the standard SJ options.
@@markcronk8109 see my model j has a 400 from a different year but has a lot of model sj options I need to fill out a form on phs not sure how to tell if it’s an sj by the cowl tag
You could order a Model J with more options than a standard SJ. My car has original drivetrain. In 71 and 72 the SJ came with the 455 4 barrel, dual exhaust engine. That engine could be ordered on a Model J as an option. The SJ cars had different badges and came standard with additional trim. My car was built at the Pontiac plant and sold new in Canada. I have the original owner paperwork on it.
hey Mark, is this car for sale? if so hit me up asap. thx dan
