I’d say pick & choose what you want from Colourpop. No point in buying a whole collection if you know you’re not interested in everything.

I don't think you're missing out on eating Twinkies or Hostess cupcakes. My husband and I liked them when we were kids. We tried Twinkies, as adults, after watching the movie Zombieland. We were surprised that we used to like them. 🦋👩🦰
Our tastes evolve with age, tbh. Give me a slim slice of cheesecake with homemade cranberry or blueberry compote on top and I'm super happy. I make everything from scratch and I can't do the pre-packaged kid slop anymore 😅

I remember being a kid in Elementary school and every Friday my mom would pack a Hostess Ho-Ho which brings back so many memories. I’ve never had a Twinkie though I’ve read to much about them and watched too many videos of people showing them years later and they still “look fresh” lol

Chemicals and high fructose corn syrup! Only when I have a hankering will I have one. Usually it is those powdered donuts or the mini chocolate covered ones. Always leaves a coating in your mouth and yet satisfying. Find a friend who bakes; Anything sold in boxes in the stores is packed with preservatives and lacks true flavor

MAC has released so much new Makeup and primers (love the MAC primer) eyeshadows, blushes, lipstick 💄 I hope Angie does purchase the MAC Frosted Red Lipstick! Theresa is Dead says Colourpop glow drops are one of her favorite highlights, but the normal shade range doesn’t have one light enough for me, so stranger things might be my chance!!! the online swatches didn’t look that shiny though so i can’t tell if it’s just bad footage or if it’s not as shiny as their permanent shades? praying this gets 30 likes lol… an icy highlight in 2024, i might be the only one 😅 pale ppl problems!

Indie nail polish obsessive here... I don't own any Holo Taco because they're too expensive tbh. But there are a ton of beautiful indie polish brands that you should try 😊

Hostess is one of those things that you LOVED when you were 8 years old but I'm an adult now and my tastes have changed. Don't feel bad you're not into American baked goods. If you've tried scratch made cheesecake, fruit pie or sourdough bread, you've had some of the best most of the country has to offer. My favorite bakeries are usually Czech, Dutch or French immigrant owned anyway
I bought my mom the CT rose gold shadow when it released for her birthday and after about a month it had hard pan. My mom was literally digging her finger in to get some of the the shadow to pick up so I wouldn’t recommend it.
Middle aged American woman here. I’ve never eaten a Twinkie in my entire life. Like never even tasted one. It’s a point of pride for me. 😂 And I am a lover of sweets, too. They have a funny reputation for never spoiling, ever, because they’re so full of chemicals and preservatives. And thanks for uploading a video even though you’re in Aus!!!

Hostess products are popular for pure nostalgic sugar. I never liked them.
Also Holo Taco and Mooncat are my absolute favorite nail polishes, I have a decent collection of both now. They're also both wonderful companies who help cat rescues/shelters so I love supporting them!

As someone who has lived in the US their entire life, I also do not like American baked goods 😂 they're way too sweet for me. The most I will do is a peanut butter cookie.

You are NOT kidding out on twinkies or other gas station garbage! Most American bakeries are way too sweet, but we also have some amazing bakeries here, too!

I don't think you're missing anything by not trying a Twinkie.
All they are is sugar "cake" stuffed with sugar cream. Plus, the texture to me is odd.
I do believe bakeries can be your best bet, but of course, it all depends on the bakery too.
i highly recommend korean bakeries.

Holotaco polishes are TRULY awesome! 🤩Especially their holos - to die for, especially in the sunlight or bright electric light. ✨🎇 And you can absolutely do nail art with them, too - I do all the time, they work perfectly with a thin brush, too, and go on opaque enough for the little designs! If you paint the whole nail, the built-in brush is really convenient, too. Aside from the classic holos, I love their linear holo top coat and their multichrome polishes are amazing, too. I don't really know if it's my favourite brand, just because there are a few others I love, but it's definitely one of the best. 💅

Please don’t ever try the hostess desserts. It’s pure sugar and chemicals 🙈. American desserts are way too sweet and luckily there are many bakeries that sell international desserts. I’m a major sweet tooth but I still cut sugar in half for anything I can, baking, Starbucks etc.

Holo Taco is the only polish I use. I love that they have a thinner for polish, and their black really IS a one coat black.

When it comes to Hostess, you are definitely NOT missing out. It’s 10 variations on vanilla and chocolate cake that are all a bit stale. No flavor but sugar and artificial preservatives. The only product that stands out from the lineup is the coconut Snoballs. Those might be worth a try.
I think a lot of the love for them is we Americans were often fed them as quick treats when we were children, so it’s a nostalgia thing. On that note, I DO have a soft spot for Twinkies. My mom as used “Twinkie” as a nickname for me my whole life because I loved them so much as a toddler. I’m going to see if I can get the Twinkie products just because of how they remind me of my mom. And the truth is, they ARE better than the rest of Hostess’s cake lineup. The sponge is airy and moist instead of dense and dry, and the cream filling is soft and smooth and silky. You won’t like them, but you should try one for the unique texture if nothing else.
As a side note, Little Debbies are very similar, very little flavor besides sugar and artificial preservatives. BUT they DO actually have variety in their offerings. You might actually like one of their oatmeal cream pies or a Nutty Buddy. Maybe. Prepackaged American dessert snacks are really just crazy junk food that we’ve been addicted to since childhood.
The only american baked good i can think of that isnt over processed junk (ie twinkies) is chocolate chip cookies. Im pro chocolate chip cookies personally but i think most of our baked goods came from someplace else.
ETA: Cornbread is another american baked good.

Not even seeing the collection, but the marketing and packaging for the Glamlite Coca-Cola collab is the best I've seen yet. The morphe one was ok. This looks way better. The lip kit being in a coke can and the 50s refrigerator looking PR box is retro and fun. That's the way it should be done.

I would LOVE ❤️ for you to review the new Lawless eyeshadow palette! A few years back they released two single glitter ✨ toppers and I love them! I still remember sending one to Samantha March because she couldn’t get it. You can still purchase them on QVC. I’m super curious if the shimmer shades are the same formula!! Honestly, I have never been a fan of Twinkies, even as a child. They have a strange texture and are made with beef tallow. I really like the Stranger Things palette. I agree about expensive single eyeshadows *but*… I bought A Charlotte Tilbury Pop Shot. Even with discount it was expensive, but I thought about it and bought it anyway- because both the colour and the bejewelled component make me happy whenever I look at them 😊
I love Stranger Things, but the packaging is falling flat for me. It would be exciting to see you working with it.
I would like to see the blush, but it is ph adjusting. The Cupuaçu Butter in the formula is one that is not common.
Maybe discuss the formulations and tell us if the Strawberry, Apricot, or Raspberry makes for a nice smell.

You're not missing out. Honestly, I think the apocalypse type movies have described twinkies best. They're gonna be 1 of the last foods when the world ends lol. I don't know any adults who eat them, just fond memories from childhood.
Twinkies are definitely a pure sugar baked good. Trust your instincts!! I don't know swedish baked goods very well, but I am still OBSESSED with a pistachio cream Semlor I had at the American Swedish Institute here in Minneapolis. I also think of cardamon buns, which are awesome.
I think you should try some more American plain cake donuts. Sometimes, they're made too sweet, too (eg Dunkin), but the peak small bakeries will make them rich but not super sweet.
Food is such a cultural thing & very much tied to our childhood memories so It makes sense you would not have any warm feelings towards Twinkies. My mom didn't buy a lot of that kind of thing so I have no nostagia for it myself . I was more of a DingDong kid than a Twinkie kid 😊 As an adult, I skip any Hostess goodies & instead go for gourmet cupcakes like Red Velvet. But only on my bday.

Pat McGrath color stories are so bad; I don't get it. There's hardly any range of depth, like hardly any colors for an outer corner, there's just no contrast. And there's usually too many shimmers, even for shimmer lovers. There's always something lacking in the undertones. Maybe it's just me. I think the color stories are just so NOT dynamic.
If someone hasn’t mentioned it already, that would be a really cool video to try to show you duping a mothership palette. I’ve only “bought” 4 I think, one I bought w a 4 payment app when they were doing 10x the points on eyeshadow palettes on Ulta. And then got one for a dollar and change with my Ulta points. Then one w a Sephora rouge $100 gift card and then one for $48 w Ulta points. Because even if I had crazy money I don’t think I could spend $128 in one fell swoop on a palette. It’s not against my religion I’m sure but, feels like it should be. Altho I’m Methodist and believe in God but not a church goer at the moment.
