Literally one of the most helpful tutorials of all time, thanks mate.
You're welcome!
Much needed!
I found it funny that ads for a steam game called 'SYNCED' just happened to be running at the same point in time that i happen to be watching this video. 09.28.23
Thank you so much, great guide. Wondering if this will also work with my Miyoo Mini+
Unfortunately not as the Miyoo uses Linux. I believe syncthing is the alternative for Linux.
Superb guide, very clearand easy to follow. Keep up the good work. Please do a follow up guide if Dolphin, Duckstation or AetherSX2 ever get a way to sync as well. Thanks for the video
Surely it's exactly the same way??.
Great video
Nice! So what is the app/method for non androids? Is it that the same apps need installed?
I have the rg353v. Is the retroarch save folder different from linux and android?
Since you’re syncing states, doesn’t this also rely on the right cores and the same versions of those cores all lined up between the synced devices?
You can also save your memcard file
Still searching for that combo to get SNES to go between PC and Android. No luck so far.
Would it be possible to use this and then sync to my steam deck? I have a background process running on that as part of EmuDeck to backup to my google drive. Have you tried this?
Not familiar enough with what Linux has, but should be possible with the right program.
is this possible between STEAM DECK and Retroid Pocket 3+?
Would this work with systems like steam deck or just android devices?
Great video
You can add steam deck to this equation, but you'd need to find a Linux program that does what these do. My knowledge isn't there for that unfortunately.
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds thanks for the reply.. I will be getting one of the windows based handhelds soon (Rog or Legion Go) so hopefully it'll work with that.
Can you do a video demonstrating setting up a cloud library for your room collection
Hey! It would be the exact same steps. Have your rom folder with each system inside (could just be called roms and then folders like gba, ps1, etc inside). Create a roms folder on your cloud service, and sync them together. Same steps as the video!
Thanks, once set up I should be able to access my library from any device
Won't doing this mean that you can only access the roms over wifi?
Do these two options work for Windows and Android sync between the two OS?
Yep, just use Google Drive for Windows.
I am very confused. I have the app on two devices (pixel 7 Pro and an rp3+) but the part you said you already had a folder created, I didn't so I just created one and called it saves and then chose Retroarch saves as you did but it doesn't load on the other device. Any help would be amazing
Hey, not sure what part you're stuck on, but yeah, it's as simple as creating a folder in your cloud drive called saves, and then on both devices, setting up two way sync to the retroarch saves folder.
That's what I've done and I have downloaded the save files from my rp3 to my phone now but when I start the game on Retroarch it starts up as a new game and not as I do on my handheld. Also it's now syncing all the thumbnails from retro achievments. Is there a way to stop that? Thank you
So it worked in the end and went from my retroid to my phone. I have since played on my phone and further progressed into the game and it's not deleted my file on the retroid and no amount of syncing is loading my save. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Nah, I'm done. It's deleted my saves on both devices now. I won't be using autosync again. Thanks anyway
I'm not sure where you might have missed, but if you have two way on and it's actually syncing, all should be working properly.
What about PC?
Google Drive program
Is there a workaround for dolphin and aesthersx2?
Unfortunately not.
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds How exactly do you upload saves from android? I have (I think) my gni profile loaded but the saves aren't showing
