@@martinkrauser4029 Sadly my own business does not (yet) have any need for a SC2 commentator but when it grows to that size I will definitely consider Joe (if he hasn't been re-hired by Harstem by then of course).

If Harstem rewatched from Zerg perspective you'd have noticed just as many mistakes. They're the same rank for a reason

Idea for a series: You play against other pros, but every 2-3 minutes you resume from replay and switch sides. Play until the standard win condition is met.
They will need 2 hours for a match..
It would just be a metagame fest. If it were me I would just not build anything in the first 3 minutes and then if my opponent wasn't as clever I would just go steamroll him after we swapped.

I've always been kind of lazy so I always just right clicked my observers onto different units in my army (usually ones not likely to die early in the fight)
When it said "We have a winner" I thought he meant that it was actually imba. Then when I saw the contradictory mess of "I don't have a build, I don't have upgrades, I kept attacking for no reason and didn't bother with detection but I still think I should have won" I was a little worried thinking surely this guy can't whine about balance!

Yeah that's the biggest 2.5 bases I've ever seen. Meanwhile we've got "Almost 6" McGee on the other side.
The lack of observer is crazy at that point in the game. Really at any point, but we have all been flustered and not had one in the first 8 min or so... but there was plenty of opportunity, and lots of tumors to destroy. lol.
Also at 11:25 he saw one lurker and more morphing in.

I always wonder how the sender feels watching this. Are they convinced they suck? If you can play a 21 minute game without getting an upgrade, lose when you were up 40 supply, have a 5k float at 140 supply, still not think you suck, and, furthermore, babyrage about balance, can harstem really convince them? I'm way worse but I know I suck.
Pro-tip for poor Zewey: put your observers on a separate control group, that way when you a-move in with your main army you don't fly the observers literally on top of the hydras.

Bats are not blind. They have perfectly fine eyesight on top of echolocation. To them, we are blind from the lack of the echolocation, even if our standard vision is roughly on par with theirs.
If you look at bats, they look back at you. With their eyes. That they use to *see with*

I think the myth about being blind comes from the fact they hunt at night. Humans forget how dark it is without lights at night. Thus bats have to rely on echolocation to hunt.

it didn't lose him the game tho. having 6k in the bank and not building anything good vs lurkers cost him the game. He also threw a win twice much earlier by keeping his reinforcements at home instead of using them to reinforce the push that was about to kill his opponent

It's funny that about 10 minutes after Harstem told him to use the all army hotkey, he did. Like he saw the video while playing, but had a really bad reaction time.

One of my favorite mistakes, since lower brackets are constantly out of position, is only building shield batteries... Yeah super helpful to shield your probes as they die.

Neither moles or bats are blind - moles have poor eyesight but are not blind. Bats have excellent eyesight, equal or better than humans in low-light situations

I think I know what happened; he focused too much on moving / attacking with his army and not focused on the workers on each base. It happens to me all of the time, but I'm a recently upgraded Gold III prodoss on the NA after being Sliver II for 4 years.
@@MrCrashDavi Yeah, half the time I just f2-shift-click a-move every expansion then I focus on expanding, upgrades, dropping more gateways, and then seeing what I need.

With 4 to 5 bases, I expect to go Carriers or even Mass disruptor to deal with Lurkers. Without watching the replay, I can guess it was a lot of bank but not the right investment.

Question. Can Templars do max range blind storm against Lurkers? He had an idea where the lurkers are and he had Templars
Storm has a range of 9, and according to liquipedia a splash radius of 1.5, which should make the max range 10.5. Lurkers with upgraded range have 10 range, so technically yes.
Although really, the answer would still be yes even if Lurkers did have longer range. In Brood War, storm gets used on siege tanks, and tanks have 12 range. Just send in some zealots first to draw fire.

@@KaitlynBurnellMath If you can't see the Lurkers you'll be lucky to kill 2 of them with 3 Storms, then the its gg when HT have no energy and his army is still there. This is why you only ever see Storm being used to soften up Lurkers & Immortals are needed to finish the job.

Your replays are saved on your PC already. Start Sc2 and go to the replay tab. There is a little button to open the replay directory in the windows explorer.

For detection - would you say the main error Zewy made was just not managing the observers correctly? It looked like they may have just put them in the army control group - would the right thing be to have them in follow mode on different units? Or manage them in a separate control group? (or both?)
Yes. He actually built alot of obs, but they mostly suicided. Making them follow units is quick and easy, but they might get stranded without you noticing if the unit dies. Making an extra control group for your obs is only better with good micro.
