Listened to Medecine and Youth for the first time when I was 18, and fell in love with them. Now, at 25, I listen to them again for the first time in so long, and the fact that I instantly started singing along the lyrics as well as experiencing feelings that I had totally forgotten about is surreal 😭
I can't really tell you why, but it hurts just so good. I go through my life, mostly feeling numb and not even sure if I can take myself seriously, if I can't sense myself. But when I listen to this, I can actually feel something. It isn't really much, but it is like a fish that swims under the waters surface, still, you can see it from your boat. It's a magical experience. I would like to thank Daughter very much for this.
Youth by Daughter helped me cope with some shitty things (whole childhood trauma thing) and helped me understand what was going through my head. i don't know how i found them but i'm grateful

He stil could, only if he want to change. He was also a kid with his dreams and ambition, traumatized kid in violent house. Dad, why are you repeating your story? Why can't you break the cycle?
