    You make things for yourself, not for the viewers. The fact you take the effort to make videos is an added bonus that we really appreciate. Whatever video you upload will get views, but there will always be those who don't like something. Make what makes you happy. That's the rule I stick to on my channel. I would be interested in watching you make more steam engines or an IC engine. A IC engine can be tricky but worth it when you do get it running.

      I started this channel to basically log what I was doing and I have always tried to just do what I want to do, but as much as I try, it's hard to not feel a little discouraged when it looks like not a lot of people want to watch them. Thanks for watching. 👍

    Hi Paul. I've been doing YT for over 12 years, 17 million plus views, and my advice to you is, do what YOU want to do. Viewers come for the ride. I NEVER make reference or respond to negative comments. Those that complain can go watch another channel. Antisocial commenters get banned for life. End of story. IMO it's good to have a variety of content across the channel. Product reviews also don't appeal to some people. Tough luck ;) It's interesting to note that negative commenters almost universally have no channel content to speak of. SAYS IT ALL. Keep up the good work. Great little engine. Cheers Rob

      Rob, I agree re the no channel, back when I started when I got some ridiculous comment I would look to see if that person had a channel of their own, and not once did I find one that did. I have been posting videos on RUclips for 13 or 14 years, back when the max video length was only 10 mins, but not on a regular basis and in an account under my own name. Thanks for watching. 👍

    Gday Paul, firstly well done on achieving what you set out to do, personally I think you’ve done a fantastic job considering a no plan approach, I’d love to see you build the Webster engine and after building 2 of them I can say it’s a lot of work and I know you’ll enjoy it, don’t worry about what the comments say, I’ve been through all this and my channel is still growing, it’s there choice to watch, great build mate, be proud of it, cheers

    It is good to see her running Paul, fantastic job and series! Sometimes you get some drongos out there posting silly comments. Just ignore them.
    Like you I have built a lot of tools for the workshop. Most of them were built from my head, which takes a lot of planning on how things will work, clearances and a bunch of other things you need to consider and factor in. I purchased the plans for my belt grinder, and watched the videos that the guy made, and that really helps speed up the build process. It would be good to see you build a Webster engine, and building it from the plans would make it a lot easier and quicker to build.

    Secondly, the guy making the negative comment is way off the mark. Lots of great model engineer channels about. Joe Pie, Presso has done some lovely model builds, Model Engineering Adventures, Blondiehacks, oh, and some newish channel called Modelling Mark....

You do it how ever you want, that's why started watching in the first place!!! Enjoy your problem solving and you seem to show everything that goes wrong and show how you fix it, that is the sign of a great machining channel 👍

    as someone who has recently took on 1,5 of an engine project and another one is in my head for now (hopefully forever cuz it's a 6L single cylinder diesel I wanna make but will have 0 time for)
    I absolutely wanna watch an engine build, especially and IC engine build. Steam engines are nice and pretty and a joy to watch, but an IC engine is just something else. I mean you are harnessing the power of explosion, how cool is that?

    is it just me or are all the threads the British invented an absolute weird mess of randomness?
    BA is weird and shouldn't exist imo
    BSP I have just learned is way weirder than it should be
    Whitworth is actually pretty normal, just not used anymore unless it's proprietary bicycle parts
    I am sure there are other weird threads the Bri'ish have made

    • @MyMiniHomeWorkshop
      @MyMiniHomeWorkshop  Месяц назад +1

      You're not kidding, metric threads are way easier to deal with I think.
