@@anujsethi7845 chandni chowk redevelopment was done very poorly. Use of red sandstone (to keep in touch with "mughal architecture" eventhough the original road was cobblestone). The road is still very dirty and poorly maintained. And the plan to do facade restoration of all the buildings on the road has gone nowhere for 2 years. People should see how good heritage street pedestrianisation projects were done in Amritsar, across Kerala, and now even Srinagar. They did it much better and much more quickly too.

At first, a countrywide ban on Gutkha & chewable tobaccos should be inforced. And people should be taught basic civic sense to not litter everywhere. Otherwise, they will destroy any redevelopment.

Their should be a proper place for vending zone where all the thelewale have their thela and that will too have some standard.
This sidewalk and cycle track, though relatively better and usable, do not meet international accessibility standards. They lack wheelchair and stroller accessibility, crosswalks, effective traffic signage/signal and have obstructions along the path. The excessive focus on greenery gives it a decorative touch, but it may not age well due to high maintenance requirements. To be sustainable and most important scalable, such projects should prioritize low maintenance and cost-effective efficient approaches. Moreover, I don't think alot of people going to use it, the absence of bustling street life and the lack of restaurants or shops within the pedestrian area hinder the concept of walkability. It is crucial to understand that walkability extends beyond physical infrastructure, encompassing the broader ecosystem that accompanies it.

What kind of development you want in slum areas? Because slums illegally encroach government lands and development in those areas has to start with removal of illegal structures. Then you will have slum dwellers protesting in Jantar Mantar. Or you want government to legalize the slums?
Who said for example go to sultanpuri, Rithala and Mangolpuri, pitampura gaon, jahangirpuri and lots of slums area where government provide all resources to civilian look at their schools even.

all roadside food stalls/vendors/makers must be centralised and provided with government made compartments of good and beautiful infra to sell food in a hygienic manner. These vendors should be held liable for a minimal tax or rent, so the govt can earn from them in return of the investment.
I lived in North West Motibagh from 2012 till 2020 and my school was located at RK Puram sector 12. Now I live in Germany. Recently I was in Moti Bagh in 2022 and was surprised to see the greenery. Although the inner Moti Bagh near the Basrurkar market was already green when I was there 10 years back, the outer area has seen rapid changes after AAP govt., especially after the metro station construction...

I have seen delhi go from bad to worse....Delhi roads , condition of DTC busses and the amount of encroachment and filth has increased...few here and their patches redeveloped doesn't impress people coming from outside...this is one place I have lived and loved but feel sorry to see the state of affairs..
Only if everyone understood that. And this redevelopment is near government flats and not on places where there is huge crowd movement. Market streets still look like some under development country. And the footover bridge near government houses have wodden flooring. 💀

Hmm.... we're still just implementing the European model without thinking India climate conditions. Those wood flooring will be ruined in one monsoon session. But, no we want India to look like Europe. I have raised this issue multiple times that we are a hot country, we need more trees on footpaths.
We had wooden floored railway station overpass since I can remember and it still working great after 20 years
India can look to Spain for inspiration because Spain is also a very hot country.
This is the very basic requirement we as a citizen want from the govt. Hope they maintain the same in future. As we have seen after sometime when there is any underground wire or pipelines to be installed, they don't fix the surface properly.
Maintenance work is very much important for each departments....

China adopted urban modernization from Singapore. That's what India should do. Learn from Singapore how to develop modern amenities and maintain them.

The moment you concretize any unpaved roads, the less the dust pollution and overall the visibility increases.

0:48 sorry to stay but these ebike are only available in central and south delhi and that be in some particularly selected areas, you can't find these in north West or east of the delhi.

Couple of suggestions over bridge steps seems to steep to climb so escalator may have been better and seating should have made from material which doesn’t have temperature effects particularly in summer heat.

A lot of people are here to critise but Western cities are not perfect either. Not every train station in London or New York has access for Disabled people. There are drunk people, homeless people and drug addicts in every Western city. I have never been to India but I will go in 3 years time. I will go to Delhi, Agra and Amristar. I am very impressed by what I am seeing. India is making alot of progress. The people critising neeed to be aware that Rome was not built in 1 day, it takes time, you have to be patient. India is on the right track. Well done to Modi.
also make sure how to manage the beautification..hefty fine for littering. Especially those auto drivers..and thela wala should not be allowed, they will make the place dirty within few days..also, don't allow illegal shops to spawn around. Find of Rs500 for spitting should be imposed..unless strict civil discipline is imposed, such beautification will never last
If this is how future cities look, that is full of mini forests, I'm in.
