Pearl Pureheart's facial movements and singing voice fit in nicely and go in pace with the music as she is rocking in her rocking chair. She's very pretty in this episode.
+Barry I. Grauman In an episode of Filmation's THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MIGHTY MOUSE from 1979, THE STAR OF CUCAMONGA, there was a scene in which Pearl Pureheart stopped to pet a puppy or maybe a full grown dog depending on what breed it was. The dog was much smaller than she was, but the dog was probably a real dog in a matter of speaking like Bandit on JOHNNY QUEST. But in another episode from that Mighty Mouse series when Mighty Mouse apprehended Oil Can Harry and his henchman Swifty for attempting to steal Pearl Pureheart's underwater tractor so they could prey on other vessels and turned them over to the shore police, all the policeman were dogs, thus making them taller than Mighty and Pearl. But they were anthropomorphic dogs, dogs that walked on their hind legs. There was a Mickey Mouse cartoon in which Mickey brought home a kitten and that made Pluto jealous. Mickey towered over the kitten and was probably a few inches taller than Pluto too. But Mickey Mouse was an antrhopomorphic mouse. Bugs Bunny is taller than Yosemite Sam, a human. But again Bugs Bunny is an anthropomorphic rabbit. Bugs and Daffy Duck are also taller than Elmer Fudd, another human cartoon character.
Pearl Pureheart's lovely appearance and motions in this cartoon, especially the rocking chair scene are so convincing it makes you almost forget she's a cartoon character.
0:21-0:37 notice how the bow of Pearl's hair ribbon waves back & forth as she rocks in her chair. Compare that to what you'd see in a limited animated cartoon of today; even in the hilarious MIGHTY MOUSE THE NEW ADVENTURES from the 1980s in which Pearl's hair ribbon stays perfectly still. Maybe it's just me who notices these things. This cartoon is quite good animation wise and Pearl was especially attractive too. A very nice closeup of Pearl' face. Is it any wonder that Mighty Mouse was so in love with her?
@@ksol1460tv I don't remember getting any email from you a month ago. I guess my notifications didn't go through. I'm glad you responded all the same, even if my comment was from 3 years ago. Thank you.
You are right. In Filmation's the NEW ADVENTURES OF MIGHTY MOUSE-1979-1980, Pearl Pureheart appeared in every episode as did Oil Can Harry. Pearl was Mighty's steady girlfriend, even if they didn't get married. In MIGHTY MOUSE THE NEW ADVENTURES, Pearl didn't appear in every episode and she wasn't as smitten over him as she was in Mighty Mouse Terrytoons and the Filmation versions. But they were still boyfriend and girlfriend.
That Oil Can Harry is not only despicable but he's stupid too. Why would he reveal to Pearl that he tricked her with that stuffed Mighty Mouse dummy and on the very day he enslaved her in his laundromat? That that was not the real Mighty Mouse he beat up? Did Harry actually think that she wouldn't retaliate when he revealed the truth to her? A smart villain would keep on making Pearl believe that it was the real Mighty Mouse he defeated until the time was right. That Oil Can Harry is a bigger dummy than the one he beat up.
I think the problem was that Harry didn't know about Mighty Mouse coming over i guess he assumed that Pearl was just enjoying her day like any other innocent girl would do i know i would
+iheartFrozen 102 Pearl would've found out sooner or later that Oil Can Harry was taking her for a ride, that he was slipping her mickey and I don't mean mouse-LOL!!!!!!!! Pearl wasn't dumb. Not only that Pearl was strong enough to knock out Oil Can Harry senseless. She's done that in a few cartoons proving she can defend herself very well when the chips are down. She's not as helpless as she looks or claims to be.
+iheartFrozen 102 I just wonder if Mighty Mouse did not plan on visiting Pearl Pureheart that day when Oil Can Harry captured her and enslaved her in his laundry what would've happened to her? Would she have gotten out of that dangerous situation all by herself without Mighty Mouse's help?
That dirty despicable Oil Can Harry. All he wanted was a slave to wash his dirty laundry. Apparently he wasn't in love Pearl Pureheart after all. Maybe he was just after her money. Which reminds me. Was Pearl rich? Was she heiress to a fortune?
+PrincessPeachFan100 I heard that in the 1960s he became a songwriter for Simon Garfunkle and may have composed the song Wake Up Li'l Suzy and wrote news stories for Rolling Stones He's still alive as far as I know.
I Heard He Has A Son, But I Think That's Who Your Talking About Who's Still Alive, Roy Halee Jr. I Heard He Is A Record Engineer. I'm Not Sure About Roy Halee Sr., The One Your Talking About, He Might Be Though, If Your Saying It. I Tried Looking Up Him, Roy Hallee Sr., And All I Could Find Is Stuff On His Son. I Also Tried Searching Up Images Of Him, And I Can't Find Nothing. :(
+Barry I. Grauman I wonder how I would've reacted if I were in Mighty Mouse's position if Pearl gave me such a lengthy sweater for saving her life. Mighty Mouse is just too kind and decent a mouse to hurt anybody's feelings, especially his girlfriend's. Mighty Mouse was both good and nice, a role model for both mouse kids and human kids alike. It's really a shame his cartoons are not shown on tv anymore and haven't been on in 25 years. You and the narrators of these MIGHTY MOUSE cartoons classify Pearl Pureheart as a heroine. While it's true that Pearl is sweet, innocent, nice and pure of heart like her namesake, she's far from a heroine. What did she ever do that was heroic? Did she ever rescue Mighty Mouse from a dangerous situation? Not that Mighty Mouse ever needed to rescued, but that would be interesting and nice to see. It would be nice if there were a Mighty Mouse cartoon in which he confronted a villainess instead of his traditional archenemy, Oil Can Harry. But Mighty Mouse, being a male has an honor code, he doesn't believe in punching out women no matter how evil they are. So when the villainess has MM entrapped in a real dangerous situation in which he couldn't get out, Pearl would punch out the villainess, give her a beating she'll remember her by and save Mighty Mouse from whatever dangerous situation he was entrapped in. That would make Pearl Pureheart a true heroine. there aren't too many heroines in the real world today or too many heroes for that matter.
It’s really easy to fool pearl get the animations the big wonky ,yet I give them credit for putting these singers that are very talented what they lend there voices and singing talent in this from the damsel in distress to the hero and the villain, why oil can harry Kidnapped pearl to clean other peoples laundry since you’re you have machines that do the work way better than her the story is pretty much stupid yet it’s just an excuse to see the three characters doing something in this cartoon .

I have looked for this for years.I love all the music
The scene with Oil Can Harry getting pulled through the conveyor belts was one of my favorite bits when I was little.
what a cartoon.
Mighty Mouse is awesome.
i need this on a Monday night.
Thanks for the upload.
That's some neat trick, knitting with wool that comes right off the sheep without carding or spinning! Wish I could do that with MY sheep!
Pearl Pureheart is a real knockout and is in top form in this cartoon. Minnie Mouse's got nothin on Pearl as far looks go.
0:30-0:36 a mouse that's bigger than a sheep? Aint that a kick a head.
That's funny- Disney's mice are just as big as ducks and dogs, too.

Mighty Mouse dated plenty of cute mouse girls in the old shorts, but Pearl is the one that stuck with him through his multiple TV series.

The Mighty Mouse Terrytoons wasn't a tv series. They were shown in theaters during the 1940's and 50's. In 1955, they came to television.

Okay but real talk, the oversized "CHAMP" sweater at the end was friggin' cute.

Name your own "metropolis", Brian.

Who could've thought that a female cartoon mouse could be so pretty and appeal to the sexual imagination of humans?
If Mighty Mouse sings even higher notes, he may be thought of as a castrato.
Guys who can sing as high as girls are called countertenors. He sounds like a lyric tenor to me which is a couple steps below that.
Pearl Pureheart's skirt is a few inches shorter in this cartoon, revealing her nice legs.
