My husband is a contractor and he swears by Floor & Decor and The Tile Store for materials for flooring and tile. There is a huge difference in the quality of materials from those stores and the box stores, like Home Depot and Lowe's. BTW, we saw Coldplay perform back in 2017, and we loved the experience! The positive energy and physicality of Chris Martin was amazing 😊

My dad passed away when I was around 9 years old and it’s been 17 years since I got to experience a dad. Seeing you with your dad warms my heart so much, I love him so much. This is great but I highly recommend going to actual tile stores. The quality is better than big box stores. We just did our kitchen and laundry. Bathrooms are next. Good luck!
Plus even if they don't technically have installers (a lot of times they do though) many times they know the local scene and can get you a few names to check into. Local is usually better because they don't want to risk their reputation contracting crap people.
Floor and Decor has the biggest selection and best prices. Home Depot and Lowes have like a single row. We remodeled both of our bathrooms and got all the tile and flooring from Floor and Decor.
My suggestion is go to a flooring store for the floor. I just put in a new kitchen floor and almost went with a floor from Home Depot. My mom suggested going to a flooring store and I was shocked at how much better the quality was and there were so many more choices. I ended up getting a beautiful LVP floor from the floor store. The price wasn't that much more and it was totally worth it. Their installers were great too. It was actually a man and woman and they were awesome. Home Depot is good to get ideas and I did purchase my kitchen sink and faucet there and they are very nice.

When we did our bathroom remodel we went to Lowe’s and Home Depot and ended up getting our tile from 2 local tile shops - one for the wall tile I loved that I saw in a $15M home that ended up being ‘contractor’ grade 🙄 but a score for me because I could get a higher quality looking tile for Lowe’s/Home Depot pricing! The floor tile also came from another local tile studio because I just didn’t like the look of any floor tiles at the big box stores and it wasn’t much more costly! Long story long I would def recommend going to local design studios for tile and see if they carry contractor grade materials for your project!
Currently building a house and I also like the stone bathrooms. Check out stone yards and talk to fabricators in you area because they can custom build your shower walls and tub face with a single slab instead of doing tile. Less grout to clean and it just looks super high end. Also, depending on the sizes you need, might be able to find stone remnants that work for a fraction of the cost. Good luck!

We redid my childhood home and made it all accessible as I was in a car accident and now in a wheelchair. My fiance did all the work, but we picked all our tiles out for the new master bath room in the shower at floor and decor. They are really wonderful to work with! Have a huge selection where you can actually see out installed in a bigger area than just a couple pieces up on a wall!! Designing it was my absolute favorite!!! We ended up doing a larger concrete look hexagon tiles on the floor and in the shower we did the pan in a smaller hexagon marble tile and chose a really inexpensive longer subway tile that's not perfectly even ours really pretty and did the whole back wall in a herringbone layout!! Oh out just turned out so freaking good!! Even down to the grout color was so much fun to pick out!!!
I have a HUGE tip for your parents with the soaker tub, get a pull out sprayer! When you clean the tub, you are going to WISH you had a sprayer. Somebody told me that years ago and it ended up being a life saver! Plus, you can rinse your hair if you are taking a bath.
This is right up my alley. I'm a subcontractor and do interior remodeling. I work for my husband and we do the remodels together. I've been doing interior remodeling with my husband for 7years. I've seen it all. We mostly do homeowners insurance claims through Allstate. So when your pipes leak, a tree falls into your house, water heater/ice maker leaks. Things of that nature. We do turn key work so that means we do the job from studs to clean up. I have a bunch of pictures of before and after. We do lots of Kitchen and bathroom remodels. I enjoy it for the most part but it's very hard work to do daily at 37 years old. We do flooring, tile, cabinets, plumbing, electric, sheetrock finishing, painting, trim/moulding, and so much more.
Floor & Decor and Bedrosian are great places to see tile and materials. When choosing things we kept in kind the preparation and maintenance of the material. Some stones or materials are more porous or delicate. Just check if things need to be sealed before and after install or just after. A lot of contractors won't check or aren't thorough so just know your material and what's required so you can make sure it'll last as well as it can.
We did an almost full house remodel about two years ago. Some lessons learned for the bathrooms. We did a marble floor for our master because it is a small space. That ended up having a lottt of grout to it because of how small the pieces are. If I did it again, I would pick a larger tile because it’s less maintenance for grout cleaning and less likely to crack/easier to replace if it does crack. If it’s a high traffic bathroom, or a spot where there might be dirty people or paws is to do a darker grout. Particularly if you have men or boys who use the toilet… darker grout and not white tile around the toilet is a good idea if you know what I mean. We got our cabinets from Huntwood and I would highly recommend them! They turned out great and are better quality than something from Home Depot but not as as expensive as custom cabinets. Hope this helps!

I just redid my kids bathroom and did the grey and brown marble for their shower! I put in wood floors and a grey and brown pebble floor and cubby accent in the shower. The onstage energy radiates through the audience, and the whole concert is a lot of fun. I would see them again and again. (Must check when they're back here in Australia.)

My parents are in the same house, and honestly I love the idea of having a forever home. I've heard of people moving and it just doesn't feel like home after months or years of living there.
Floor & Decor was where I got my shower wall, shower floor, and custom insert tiles as well as the marble trim. My contractor recommended them and they had so many options. I also found my kitchen backsplash tiles while I was there. I personally didn't do a tile on the floor because I was concerned about it being too slippery, so I continued my waterproof backed lvp through-out my entire house.
I only have an iPhone 12 and I remember last year I finally got around to making my apps into shortcuts with custom icons. It took like 3 hours or something because I had to find and save the pictures I wanted (from instagram) and then edit them in picsart. It wasn’t too hard once I figured out the editing style I wanted and then I just saved that privately to my account and used that format for the rest of the photos. Took a while like I said but it was also really fun because I love photo editing and at the end I felt like I had a brand new phone. Apparently that was January 2023, not last year, jeez what even is time, and I’ve made some little changes but I still love how my phone looks since I didn’t go for a seasonal aesthetic. I even went as far as to make my Xbox wallpaper and my lock screen the same picture lol
I also cried when I went to the Candlelight Coldplay Tribute here in Houston 😭 Going to concerts with my boyfriend have been some of my favorite experiences and memories with him. It’s one of those things that just feel surreal. 🩷🩷

Ask your contractor where they prefer to get materials. Mine had a list of stores they regularly worked with and because we went with one of those we actually got a nice discount.
Finally a topic I know about! Best ceramic / porcelain faux marble slabs are by Crossville tile, hands down. Plus no grout and the technology is incredible these days to look SO close to real stone. Daltile is another good manufacturer to check out, but Crossville has tile too. Floor & Decor is a good option for less “off the shelf” options. I will say hexagons are on the way to phasing out of popularity. It’s trendy now but as a designer my advice is to avoid trends that aren’t easy to transform to another style. Timeless design weathers evolving trends and a tile is a costly way to follow a trend since it’s harder / more expensive to change out over time. You can get a hex fun pop with towel textures, rugs, etc. Hope this helps!!

Impress nails is all I use, but I add nail glue for extra hold. It will last for 10 days before it begins lifting around edges. 😁

This is so true! I picked a relatively inexpensive tile, but wanted it laid herringbone style, and boy did that after the cost!
I love the Cakes nipple covers I bought. They don't have any adhesive they stick with your body heat and so they last forever!

Nippies are the best! Their adhesive lasts so long. Just make sure to wash after wearing with a mild soap and air dry store in their case

Press on nails are great, but I agree about Impress. I'm strictly a glue-on person. I really like Glamnetic - they're wicked pretty and quite sturdy. I can get two weeks out of a set with proper prep
Tiles from home depot and lowes arent all uniform. Some are thicker than others. From what i was told, tile shops have more uniformity in tiles.

Ask your contractor where they prefer to get materials. Mine had a list of stores they regularly worked with and because we went with one of those we actually got a nice discount.

Finally a topic I know about! Best ceramic / porcelain faux marble slabs are by Crossville tile, hands down. Plus no grout and the technology is incredible these days to look SO close to real stone.
Daltile is another good manufacturer to check out, but Crossville has tile too.
Floor & Decor is a good option for less “off the shelf” options. I will say hexagons are on the way to phasing out of popularity. It’s trendy now but as a designer my advice is to avoid trends that aren’t easy to transform to another style. Timeless design weathers evolving trends and a tile is a costly way to follow a trend since it’s harder / more expensive to change out over time. You can get a hex fun pop with towel textures, rugs, etc.
