Taylor, I totally understand you not wanting to settle down in San Diego because of your love of travel, but you always just look so happy and healthy when you are home around your family. You are literally glowing. I hope that your health is getting better and that you are getting some answers. As someone who also suffers from chronic migraines, I always think of you.❤
Thank you! It is nice to be around family and have San Diego to reset. But I think it’s also because my other vlogs don’t show people typically since I keep friends private, so it’s just that you guys see a different dynamic (hanging out with people in San Diego vlogs) vs just me talking to the camera if that makes sense 😊 thanks for the kind words!!
I just wanted to let you know how much watching your videos has helped me. I gave birth to my daughter 8 weeks ago but while I was pregnant I had a horrible illness that some women get called Hyperemisis Gravidarum. It’s literal torture 24 hours a day. Knowing what you face daily with your chronic pain and seeing how you prioritise yourself and what you can cope with that day, helped to stop all of the negative self talk going on in my brain. I was beating myself up because I couldn’t do anything and was unable to be my usual proactive and organised self. Instead though, I remembered how you overhauled your life a year or two back and started to give yourself some grace. So I just wanted to thank you for speaking on it publicly and showing us how you balance your commitments as well as self care. Thank you!
I'm pretty sure trash burning is a rural thing. We had to do that when I was young, there just was no trash pick up. There's also the "burn pile"... that's for when you're clearing fence rows, repairing/tearing down fences, building, etc. If it's something that's reached the end of its life and can't be reused it's taken to the burn pile that's burned couple times a year when weather permits.
I am the most overprotective mom you can imagine and my single, 32 year old son always comments that he wants to travel the world, solo. Because of you, Taylor, I have finally given him my “blessing” 😊 ( not that he needed it, right)! Thank you for giving me a whole new outlook on solo traveling😎
Was watching house hunters on TV and they were in Washington and I thought I haven't seen any videos of Taylor and her travel vlogs. I have missed them and your voice is so soothing. Anything about washington reminds me of you for some reason.
There are still rural areas in the U.S that no trash service covers so you either burn your trash or it piles next to your house forever. You would be surprised how many areas in our country that does not have access to basic services
Yeah, I'd say trash burning is more of a rural thing as opposed to a southern thing. In my grandmother's case, she had a burn can in her yard b/c A) she lived in backwoods Pennsylvania in an unpopulated area (literally more deer than people) with no trash or recycling scheme, and 2) that meant she'd have to drive at least 45+ minutes to the nearest town to go to a dump or recycling center. Plus she kept a large garden and could use the newspaper and other materials as mulch, weed barriers, etc.
Happy anniversary to your parents! My husband and I just celebrated our 38th anniversary, and time surely flies by. I agree with you and public school dress codes. What happened that allows such skimpy outfits to be ok? My kids had the same dress code your public school had - no crop tops, no see-through material, no spaghetti straps & no shorts shorter than your fingertips, when arms down at your side.
It is a southern rural thing to burn trash. Always burned paper and food trash growing up. You pay for trash service based how big your trash can is and number of cans or bags, so the less trash the city has to pick up the cheaper it is for you. Trash service in rural areas is expensive. Recycling wasn't an option where I grew up. So we separated trash into burnable and non-burnable. You use the ashes a fertilizer when the burn barrel gets full.
Northern Minnesota girl here. We burn the majority of our trash. Trash pickup is a city thing for the most part. What we don't burn gets brought to the recycling center and the rest of the trash we wait until we have a pickup load worth and bring to the dump. Of course, we only burn when weather/environment allows.
Yes!!! The school clothes now! I workout between two schools and I leave when all of the kids are walking to school and legit every day I am just shocked. I literally got sent home senior year for showing a shoulder (off the shoulder sweatshirt) for 80s day during homecoming week!
I feel like I woke up with only half a spoon to get me thru the entire day. Been falling asleep off n on for hours, texted my mom random letters jumbled together cuz I slept with my phone in my hand at one point and it wasn't locked. She knows when she gets those that it's not a great time for me, and yes that happens more than I'd care to admit. After about 5 hours, I'm finally awake enough to hit play on this video! One thing that makes bad chronic illness days better for 20 mins- a new Taylor Wynn YT upload! Thx Taylor 🖤🥄
Taylor, I'm from South Dakota. Around here, trash service only serves within city limits. If you're on a farm or acreage, you end up burning your trash. Some small towns don't have trash service so burning trash is the norm.
There are no trash services in extremely rural parts of the country, that’s why. :) It wouldn’t make sense to drive 60+ miles (there and back) every week just to drop off trash. Hope that helps build some understanding!❤
North Carolina here... I grew up in a very rural area where trash pickup services weren't an option for the longest time (they still aren't an option for our multi family farm road unless you get a whole dumpster where they pick up monthly) . Very often we would have to go to the dump and pay per pound or per bag, or whatever to give them our trash. Most people burn trash to save money, time, and space.
I teach 5th grade and I’m having my students start the year by creating vision boards we will revisit in the middle of the year and the end. Thank God our students have to wear uniforms! Appalled at how kids dress these days. Love your dad!!!
I grew up burning trash, we lived in a rural area in Northern CA and we didn't have a trash pickup. We took trips to the dump ourselves and we burned things like paper and cardboard.
I am a public school teacher - we went to uniforms about 10 years ago to get over the whole dress code thing, Uniforms in public school are very common in NJ.
Trash burning- I have relatives in really rural areas- sometimes there is no trash collection. So you have to drive all of your own trash and recycling- sometimes a far distance that takes time and gas money- plus you often pay for the trash you drop off. So burning paper goods etc is often more economical and helps… but of course there is the issue of what some of that trash can release into the air- but some people don’t have good other options. My relatives don’t burn plastic or anything- they compost as much as they can and curb cardboard and paper. ❤
Yellowstone is more about the wild family dynamic and dark decrees than it is about the actual ranching animals. Beth is crazy like a fox and savage! Season 4 is where I got sucked in
I tried to get into this show but found all the characters unlikable idk if it gets better but i was like damn i hate em all. and yes villains can be likable
The first few seasons are great however IMO season 4 started to “jump the shark” and season 5 fully jumped the shark! Hard pass on 4/5 but first few seasons are worth a watch. 1883 is a Yellowstone prequel on Paramount plus and it was LEAGUES above and beyond Yellowstone in my opinion! Not as much a cowboy ranch show but more of an Oregon Trail kind of show. I would highly recommend 1883!!!!!
I grew up in a rural area in Wisconsin and my family always burned trash, but only things like paper and such. I think it was mainly because our area required special trash bags or the city wouldn’t pickup the trash and they were like $5 a piece! Your dad is just the best, such a funny guy!
I know for myself I don't have trash pickup for my home since I live in the country but I am able to take it and drop it off. I don't burn my trash but previous owners of my home did.
yellowstone is SO good!! i’m not a western kinda girl either, but my hubs got me into it, then you have to watch 1883 and 1923!! you won’t be disappointed!!!
Happy Sunday, Taylor!! It was such a delight, seeing your wonderful Dad today!! You're looking as gorgeous as ever!! I hope your blood work turns out ok. Wishing you all the best with your health!! I grew up in Ohio and we didn't have trash service, and that's why we had a burn barrel, out in the back of our house. Anything that couldn't be burned we took to the dump, on Saturdays. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!! 🖤✌️
Yes, I also grew up in a rural area, and there was no trash service at all. So, if you just threw your trash out, soon there was a mountain of trash. You burn it to get rid of it best you can. Of course, you monitor while burning so you don't start a county wide inferno!
It's always gonna be a good day when my Girl Taylor uploads!! 🖤🤘🖤🤘 Edit: Yellowstone is SO amazing!! I'm not into westerns either, but that show is really good!!
I've lived on a farm in the rural Midwest. There is no trash pick-up out in the countryside! You can pay to have a trash pick-up service come out, but it's quite expensive in many areas. Most people do a combination of recycling, composting, and then burning whatever doesn't fit in the first two categories.
Parker is so cute! I have a herding dog as well (a corgi) and he's my little barnacle. He always has to be where the people are. He is happiest when we have guests and they're all in the same room (petting him, of course).
In South Dakota trash burning is totally normal. In rural areas there is no trash pick up and landfills can be hour+ away, so many will compost and burn the rest.
I love seeing Parker in your vlogs. He looks like he is doing much better with his leg sleeve. That was such a great idea. Thanks so much for sharing about that. My dog isn't a fan of the cone either. I will have to look into those leg sleeves. I love the black skirt from your Thread Up haul. You found some really cute and versatile pieces. I laughed so hard when you said that the clean perfume smelt like "Windex on crack." This was such a great video! Your positive energy is very uplifting.
Re: burning trash- in rural areas, often there is no trash/recycling pickup service. Instead, you take your own trash directly to the county dump (or to a handful of “transfer station” sites throughout the county that transfer the trash to the main dump). In most counties you have to pay for a dump pass yearly. It isn’t very expensive, but as poverty is rampant in the rural US I’m sure people would rather save their money and just burn the trash so they don’t have to use the dump. Also saves you the time and effort of loading your trash to take to the dump.
I'm so happy Parker is out of his cone! Yay free boy. 😅😂 Also the food in this vlog looked amazing. The taco and that sandwich from the farmers market yum 😋
Watching this super jet lagged because I just got back from my solo trip to San Diego! Oh my goodness I loved it there so much. It’s BEAUTIFUL. La Jolla was one of my fav spots and the tide pools at Point Loma. Thank you for inspiring me🫶🏼 my 4th solo trip down, all bc of you🥹
Burning or even burying trash used to be what was done in rural locations, I remember my Dad doing both at a summer place we used to go to. There wasn't any trash pickup at that location but I don't know why he didn't just run it to the dump, these days with remote summer locations you buy a summer pass to a local dump. My Dad is no longer around so I can't ask him for more details on why burning and burying was a thing, like kitchen scraps were buried and everything else (including plastics) were burned. Which is mostly why burning trash is banned, people burn stuff that releases toxins into the air or they go into the soil.
Regarding the trash situation 😂 I grew up in the outside of city limits where it's mostly country roads and such. It was about a 10 minute drive into town so it wasn't in the absolute middle of nowhere. BUT a lot of places like that (at least in Arkansas) don't have city trash if you're outside a certain limit. You load your own trash bins into the vehicle and take them to the nearest county dump and do it yourself and/or a lot of people do burn trash. Growing up with my grandparents, they would only burn paper like junk mail, newspaper, cardboard boxes, etc. They never burned like legit actual trash but some people do or it's their only option. Actually, I believe some things are illegal to burn depending on what it is.
I have the same question about dress codes! Absolutely no shame, but when I was in school, if we were wearing shorts we had to stand up with our hands at our sides, and if the shorts went past our fingertips we had to somehow change. No shirt straps thinner than an inch, and yep this was public school in the upper Midwest
Loving your dad poppin in...he screams California dude! Also the mini skirt and sweater is so flattering on you! What a find and so in expensive...take care Taylor❤
Taylor, you are not losing your mind. I have no children, but I almost had a breakdown looking at people's first day of school pictures. I cannot believe the things that kids are wearing to school... Or That their parents are letting them wear them. I am from the spaghetti strap era as well, so I was laughing at your rant!
I have gone to so many cities you have and done so many of your recs. Boston, Chicago, Austin, Paris, Asheville. I have your Dagne Dover backpack and BEIS luggage and I’m on a nomad journey rn and trying to film the process so you definitely massively inspire me. You’re THE reason I’m doing it. Right now I’m in a city you’ve never documented (Charlottesville) I think you should look into it! It’s so beautiful.
Trash burning: I have family that have done it. The reason is to save money and/or time. A lot of rural areas don't have trash pickup services or it's expensive. The only other alternative is taking your trash to the dump yourself, which can also be expensive and time consuming.
You are correct about the south. In a lot of rural areas there is no trash pick up so the only option you have is to burn it. Some people burn it even if there is a pick up option because they don't want anything personal floating around in a land fill. :)
i graduated in 2015 and same, i went to public school and i used to get dress coded for wearing shorts! and we couldn’t even wear tank tops either. it’s so different nowadays lol.
The new Sol De Janeiro body mist Afterhours is sooooo good! And I love the Touchland new hand sanitizer it’s pink but liquid is dark and has sandalwood!❤
I got so happy when I saw the clip of your Dad at the beginning of this video. He always makes me laugh. Taylors videos are the only ones that I immediately 👍 since I know I’m gona love it.
Definitely watch Yellowstone. I put it off for years because I also don’t like westerns, but I promise you, you will like it. And don’t be surprised if you get sucked into 1883 and 1923. Both are also really good.
I'm up here in Oregon and I see teenage girls walking around with oversized t shirts and I kid you not..cheeky bikini bottoms as their pants. It makes me feel so sick to my stomach because I know the world out there is full of sick pedos.
I grew up on a farm, and there was no trash service back then. Everyone burned their trash in barrels even in our small town. Some places still don’t have trash service and that is why they burn their own trash.
Hi Taylor! I am a North Carolina native and yes, burning trash is common in rural areas. I was raised in Raleigh so we always had trash pickup thru the city. My family that lived in a more remote or rural area would take food scraps and throw them out for rabbits, raccoons, possums, etc to eat. But no edible trash was burned because you would have to take the trash to a local “dump” and pay to use it.
I grew up in rural NC and everyone burned trash. There was not trash pickup in the area growing up and the nearest landfill charged a fee and dumpsters were restricted to area and only certain kinds on trash. Recycling was unheard of, but is more common now.
Same. We burn trash cause it's so far in the sticks there's no trash pick up. We often have burn bans in our area so we'll take the trash into town and put in the church dumpster.
My grandma lived in rural area. There is no garbage service so that’s why they burn. But she also had almost no garbage since they raised their own food.
I went to Berlin by myself this summer. I spent 6 days there and met up with an online friend for a day. The biggest issue was getting the nerve to practice my German. Other than that, it was a blast. I felt totally safe the whole time and it really cemented by desire to move to a city with good transit and walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods.
@@itsrainingcatsanddogs2651 mixed use means the neighborhoods aren't only residential. They allow other businesses like bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. It makes the neighborhood more walkable and decreases traffic congestion.
Ok - trash burning - I grew up in a very rural town in Missouri and we didn’t have garbage service when I was a kid. So you had to actually bag up your trash and drive it into the town dump. So my mom and dad would burn trash in the “burn barrel” we also composted our food scraps. Over the years eventually trash service came out to the area. As an adult, I’ve always lived where there is trash service and I live in the south (NC) - so there’s not much trash burning, going on in the urban and suburban areas. I think it’s definitely a rural thing. It’s becoming illegal in a lot of counties too.
Yellowstone is great! The cinematography is amazing, the people are beautiful (never knew I would be so into ranchers lol) and the characters are great. It can be a little violent but the story makes it worth it. You won't regret it... everyone I know... all sorts of backgrounds and ages love it!
I live in Pittsburgh, Pa & it’s the same here with what the teens are wearing to school. Crop tops, bra-lets & SHORT shorts. I was shocked, we works never get away with wearing all that when I was in school!
My dream since I was a child was to travel the world and experience everything I can, watching you as I’ve grown up, graduated high school, started (and dropped out lol) college, and I am about to leave my partner of 4 years because I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt like myself. When I watch you I get an ounce of that feeling, like I’m coming home to hang w my big sister. Thank you for being in my life through all these crazy ass years, here’s to many more & hopefully traveling the world!
My little 6 pound Biewer Terrier isn't a herding dog like Parker--but he also follows me around and even lays down on the mat by my feet when I'm in the bathroom. Actually, before we got our little dog--the cat did the same thing. PS. We burned trash in the 1970s when we moved to a house in the country in Michigan. We quickly tired of that and decided to pay for weekly trash service.
My family and I burn trash because trash service is quite expensive in rural Ohio. Also there is some trash that some companies will not pick up like leaves or tree limbs. When you live on a 12 acre farm, you need to get rid of the mountain of tree limbs that accumulate.
There’s countries that burn trash at high capacity and are some of the cleanest countries on the planet. The process, from my understanding, also creates energy. I’d look into it, I wish the US would go that route. That way trash doesn’t end up in our oceans or have massive mountains of trash. I’m sure as someone who grew up in a city, it probably seems strange but after you put trash in a dumpster, it goes somewhere . I grew up in the country and certain trash would get burned and the rest would go to the dump. The to someplace that sorts it and then goes into a mound that gets buried.
I live in the PNW and people have always burned trash lmao. It’s just a normal thing to do? We live down a half mile long gravel driveway so taking the trash up every week would be a struggle. It’s also ridiculously expensive to pay for trash pick up. We load a trailer with non burnables (recycling, used tinfoil, air arisol cans, etc etc) and take it to the dump (and recycle part) and it’s SOOOO much cheaper.
awe dogs are the best...our rescue Melon, he follows me everywhere...EVERYWHERE! I feel like because he knows he has such a good life now he doesn't want to leave anyone's side
We live in the Central Valley of california and burn days are normal here. The farmers can do it on their “ specific burn day “ Farmers clear the land and prepare for new crops this way…. It’s part of normal ag process .
I traveled in 2021 to 48 states to just say i did it and it was the best thing i did for myself. It was just me and my cat and it was so fun solo traveling. You are so inspring and i am so glad you still make youtube videos even after all this time
Haven't made it to Walgreens yet but they also have Panama Jack brand sunglasses online at JC Penney! Yellowstone is one of the best shows ever made. It's not overly ridiculously western since it takes place in Montana mostly. It's the drama and vulgarity of the show that's captivating. It lives up to the hype lol. Loving everything about your videos Tay. They've always been great but they're better than ever. You're genuine and your aura comes through on screen for sure.
You inspired me to take a cross country road trip from Nc to The Grand Canyon to Salt Lake City to Zion and Back!! It was amazing! We did it in 3 weeks! It was my Mama, My brother and I! It was the best trip ever so many memories and we did it to honor my Dad who passed! Him and my Mama lived in Utah and did the same road trip when they were first married!!
Mr. Parker looks very comfy in his new sleeve. I hope that helps him. CLEAN fragrances have been reformulated, so only the RESERVE line is worth considering. I have to soak the nozzle in alcohol often because it smells funky.
I've always been a solo female traveler but I love that you're exposing so many women to it through your channel. I share your sentiment of being torn between staying in one place and seeing more places. I'm about to start a 3-4 week road trip through the northwest and when my lease is up at the start of next year, I'm moving in with my parents and will probably do a lot more international trips since I won't be paying for rent. I'm starting law school next fall so I want to take advantage of the months of freedom as much as I can!
Parker is the cutest baby ever 🐶 so happy he loves his sleeve. Congrats to your parents on 34 years ❤ definitely trying that smoothie recipe! Love your vlogs
I didn’t do a vision board but my husband and I had a goal to move out of Oklahoma and we did it!!! We both felt that despite our family being there that Oklahoma had nothing left for us. It is terrifying to move away from your support system and as an anxious person I worried how hard it might be but I have been 100% at peace with the decision which I know means it was the right one!
I am not a trash burner-but I grew up in upstate ny and they are. Well in the sticks they are. I think it’s bc when you’re not in a city it’s extremely pricey to have it picked up, or take it to the dump. It isn’t like the city is going out to where there are no water lines or gas lines to the homes.
Fun mix in this video!❤ My grandparents lived in a small old logging town in Oregon and they always gave the food scraps to their chickens but all the other trash was burned in a big metal drum. The town was too small to support trash pick up & going to the dump costs $.
I spent a couple solo days in ATL this summer before a work conference as my foray into solo travel and you def helped me have to confidence to do it. More trips to come! I also saw someone ask about dress codes on Facebook the other day and a lot of people were saying that they're not as strict anymore and encourage people to wear what they're comfortable in and to express themselves, especially girls since they were always the most policed in the past. And teaching boys to be respectful and its not the girls job to not be 'distracting'. All for it.
While I agree that we should all feel comfortable in what we wear, crop tops can be distracting... even to other females, as shown in this video. Now add in raging testosterone and an environment where people need to focus and learn. It should be common sense and respectful to wear clothing that is comfortable and fits. I have no problem with the spaghetti straps but showing your entire torso isn't even allowed at my gym- for both males and females. Our culture is too focused on the victim mentality when it should be about mutual respect.
Who else loves Taylor and her postive energy??💖🙂
Love her personality!
she the best ❤❤

I just moved to a small town in Alabama and I’ve lived in Connecticut and Texas prior and yup never heard of a “burn barrel” until I moved here 🤣
I’m allergic to Vaseline but I’ve always used either cleansing oil or cleansing balm around my hairline when dyeing my hair! ❤😊

Or it’s just really expensive for request services outside of city limits. I didn’t know people burned trash until I met my husband
Yep, rural country woman here. I grew up burning our trash, and now we still live in a remote rural area and there are dump sites everywhere.
What does that smell like? Do you get used to it?

Another great Lisa Jewell novel is The Family Upstairs. I read it a few years ago and still think about it every now and then!
Another good one I recommend is “Then she was gone”
You are one lucky gal being able to spend quality time with your dad! Also, kinda digging that flannel…Happy fall y’all
🌻 🍂🤎🍁🧡🌾
I am a teacher in California and there is still a “dress code” but the schools don’t enforce it anymore like when we were in high school
It's always gonna be a good day when my Girl Taylor uploads!! 🖤🤘🖤🤘
Edit: Yellowstone is SO amazing!! I'm not into westerns either, but that show is really good!!
Ok I’m gonna give it a go!! 🖤🖤
@@taylorwynnyou’ve gotta let us know what you think. I love it!!
I always love the vlogs! I love the way you edit multiples days of footage together so seamlessly, it's always so easy to follow.
Watching this super jet lagged because I just got back from my solo trip to San Diego! Oh my goodness I loved it there so much. It’s BEAUTIFUL. La Jolla was one of my fav spots and the tide pools at Point Loma. Thank you for inspiring me🫶🏼 my 4th solo trip down, all bc of you🥹
Ah love that!!
Love hearing this and I’ll check it out!!
We love your Dad lol he’s the best! 😅🙌
Trash burning:
I have family that have done it.
So ready for fall with this Texas heat!
If u burn ur trash it cuts down on filling land fills
Yellowstone is a must! More about family issues than a western. Don't miss it
Definitely watch Yellowstone. I put it off for years because I also don’t like westerns, but I promise you, you will like it. And don’t be surprised if you get sucked into 1883 and 1923. Both are also really good.
I’m a teacher in Louisiana. We not only have a dress code, we have uniforms! They definitely don’t allow crop tops or even sleeveless tops
Same in rural Michigan
Mixed use? What does that mean?
I wouldn't want to walk in Berlin by night time... especially not on my own...
@@itsrainingcatsanddogs2651 mixed use means the neighborhoods aren't only residential. They allow other businesses like bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. It makes the neighborhood more walkable and decreases traffic congestion.
We burn some trash, rural MO, mostly cardboard. We do it for space reasons, in my mind the 10 seconds of smoke is better than adding to the landfill.
Nice seeing your family. So glad Parker is enjoying the sleeve!
Your vlogs are some of my favorite videos to watch! I have used your recommendations many times but just overall enjoy you as a person. 😊
PARKER 🤎🤍🖤🦴🐾A beautiful sweet little soul 😌
Love to see Parker without the cone!! My mom’s dog had the same issue so this is super helpful!
Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad the flowers were so pretty 🥰
Always great! Your dad is always a hoot.
Yellowstone is a must see!!!!! I was and still OBSESSED. ❤❤❤❤❤
I would give Yellowstone a try I don’t like westerns either & thought I would be bored with it but it’s good. Beth is an awesome character
Right? Everyone need a Beth in their life lol
As a San Diego native, I contemplated living somewhere else, and I just can't do it! My whole life is here and now rooted! 😊
I highly recommend Yellowstone, I had the same reservations at first but I personally got hooked after the first few episodes. So good!
I just love your dad. Yout comments about the dress code are spot on. My only issue with Thread Up is the site is so slow.
Parker is the cutest baby ever 🐶 so happy he loves his sleeve. Congrats to your parents on 34 years ❤ definitely trying that smoothie recipe! Love your vlogs
Yes to Yellowstone!
Must watch!
1883 back story to Yellowstone also a must watch.
Girl that fuzzy striped sweater was soooo pretty! Obsessed! ❤
I connect a lot with you because of solo traveling and authentic reviews
I loveeeee the polly sweater with the skirt omg !
Congrats to your parents on the anniversary. My husband and I just celebrated our 34th anniversary too.
I have a red parti Cocker Spaniel and she follows me everywhere, even in the bathroom! She’s the sweetest dog ever!
