Dude amazing work. Such an underrated channel. I grew up snorkelling/diving on the east coast of Aus. Have recently moved to the desert for work. Currently watching your videos on night shift at the hospital. You’ve satisfied my cravings for the ocean already. So nostalgic for me it reminds me of snorkelling with my dad when I was a kid. I hope your channel blows up you deserve it
Hey thanks so much man! This means a whole lot and is a big goal of the channel. Hoping one day if it grows enough to be able to make videos in AUS one day!
This was absolutely amazing! Incredible work and you truly did the species so so much justice. Y’all are troopers I would’ve fallen asleep on the boat 😭
Hey thank you so much, Dan! That really means so much coming from the turtle man himself! Haha I probably would have fallen asleep but I was melting in my wetsuit and was too miserable to do so
Just stumbled on your channel and love this content, nice to get some background information on what you are filming! Keep up the great work. Would be great to see some more mangroves focused videos or some spots in the Everglades.
Thanks so much! I definitely plan to do much more down in South Florida - particularly in the Keys/Florida Bay. I know that diving in ENP proper is technically prohibited so I'll have to stay focused on adjacent areas.
Epic video, in all my years living in the Florida panhandle I never encountered the terrapin. Back about 1995, I found a pet shop in Houston that was selling the ornate terrapin hatchlings caught near Panama city(super illegal)... They were snow white with that amazing shell.
4:50, coral bleaching is normal, is natural and has nothing to do with Global Warming which by the way is also normal and natural provided that it’s really happening. The 1 degree temperature rise is vastly within the instrument error range. A warmer sea is beneficial to corals. Corals thrive in warm waters. Even if the global 1C was true that would be awesome for corals.
So I don't really expect to change your mind in a comment. You have some things right here and some things wrong. Yes, coral bleaching is a natural event. BUT not when it is happening at the extent and rate we are seeing. Ask any scientist working on coral in FL and I PROMISE you they will confirm that what they are seeing is not normal. Climate does change and fluctuate over time - this is normal and natural. HOWEVER, we have never seen it increase at the rate is has done since the industrial revolution. This rapid change of climate if left unchecked will have devastating effects on biodiversity across the planet. Sure, some things will adapt and benefit from it, but there will be a lot of loss before that happens. The problem is with the rate it is happening organisms do not have enough time to adapt to their changing environment. Corals thrive in the water they have been in for hundreds of years - change that water temp suddenly and they die. Also 1 degree C is global average temperature - in certain specific regions they are experiencing much more drastic temperature fluctuation.
Too much IPCC reading uh? Yes we can’t change eachother mind in a comment. I have personally investigated the topic, especially corals, to a great extent. Corals are doing better than ever globally. Vegetation is doing better than ever. And the “Green economy” has officially overtaken the petrol chemical sector as a profitable investment. Read between the lines. In the mean time the true serious problems of our environment are completely ignored. Because there is no money to be made there. The argument “scientists say” is the least scientific thing to say possible. Scientists accused Galileo Galilei of heresy i remind you. And that was just the begin of endless “Scientist say” charades. I don’t listed to scientists but to few selected one. Those who don’t cook the book just to get the next funding. Like IPCC does.
Another great video. Amazing habitats, beautiful turtle, dolphins and tiger shark - great! The drone footage are very nice. Great job, thanks!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the kind words!
That terrapin was beautiful!

Being a Marylander now in sw Florida seeing a diamondback terrapin made my day! Keep up the good work!
@@richrobinson6464 Thank you! That’s exciting you go to see one! Amazing how widespread they are on the gulf/Atlantic coast but so rarely encountered

Oh yes! I love them. Unfortunately, we were a little far north on the Gulf Coast side to see them.
