Advance Happy New Year!i already lost 2 azaleas which i purchased abroad😭.i defoliate them but they never recovered😅.i will try again this year!thank you for the informative video.😊
Advance Happy New Year to you too, carl844! 🎉 I'm so sorry to hear about your azaleas- defoliation can be tricky for any bonsai. I'm not sure what happened but we usually do not defoliate azaleas in Japan. They tolerate well with pruning so I think trimming at the right time is enough to promote ramification. Wishing you the best of luck for the next year! Feel free to reach out if you need any tips-I'll try my best.
Hi! Great question. The timing I mentioned is based on when the Satsuki azalea finishes blooming, which is typically around May. The 5-week rule applies after the blooming period, so you’d be looking at trimming tips before the end of June, not February. Hope that clears things up!

Hello.I don't get it, you need to trim the tips after 5 weeks, is that in February? It won't have finished blooming yet.
