Your micro game was soo good! That disengaging and skirmishing is so useful and I just can't get the hang of it yet, my units seem to linger too much. Although I did think your macro was a little off. There were points where you were chilling with full map control and over 2.5K Supplies and not bothering to grab mini-bases - could've provided some valuable further supplies/power/units or at the very least guaranteed some further sightlines and fortified map control. Thank you for the video though, my 1v1 game is poor and this has helped big time!
Thanks for the feedback Stephen! I wanted to test myself by only sticking to one base, but you're right. With that much money and power, there is no reason that I shouldn't have expanded or at the very least, utilized a field armory. Glad that you enjoyed and I hope these tips help in your gameplays! - Nick
And is this on console? I like how you can cycle through your army to pick a specific troop and give them specific commands. I’m trying to figure out how to do that on console
I've been playing 1v1 mainly lately. Lost first 3 placements as atriox, switched to cutter and won 6 lost 1, got ranked at mid plat 4 and last night I just got to diamond 1 as cutter. My strat usually is open with Jack rabbits then transition into infantry or air, or a mixture. As I've said before, your videos definitely have helped me a lot. Ive become much better at being more aggressive and micro, so thanks.
at 11:28 how did you cycle through the units on the tab? like when you select all units it brings up the tab displaying your army, you seemed to have cycled to the Hornets specifically somehow
If you go double generator you should build agenerator first and upgrade it. Build 1 marine get the supplies around the map build a supply 2nd and upgrade it. I feel this gets resources going faster
I can get my rush out at around 3:10 if I'm good enough. played a forge and he had almost double army with drones. Does rolling Eco really help that much?
Breaking the Clutch Ok thanks. Also, I suggest giving cutter jackrabbit opener a try. If your initial rush doesn't succeed, you can use the 15 or so jackrabbits to take nodes and harass the entire map. Very good fallback plan since a rush is so commitment based.
Christian Diana That's what I've been using. It's got me from plat 4 to diamond 1 last night. I like it because if your opponent doesn't have turrets you can usually just get the odst drop and it's normally a wrap from there. it's not that I intend to end it quickly, but if I see an opportunity then I will.
Double generators seems viable to me as long as you can hold decent map control as to not lose all the power nodes on the map. Because each power node is worth one unupgraded generator/or half of an upgraded one for your entire team. Basically its a greedy strategy that can pay off big if you know what you're doing.
Breaking the Clutch can you make a video analyzing height advantage and what is best if you're on high ground and whats less bad on low ground. (Also test how vision affects this)
At the end of the game you should split your units up to scout more quickly and efficiently .ps: they fixed the bug with snipers yesterday i was in a game and was sniping the opponents garrison.
I don't build generators because power is overrated. Also, troop producing buildings with the exception of war council/ armory are a waste of space. Just build your base with one or two armories and fill the rest with supply pads so you can spam Marines.
Also hw1 isnt very well balanced one you get to higher skill levels only a few types of troops are viable but I still recommend it (if nothing else atleast play the campaign)
Awesome game! I see why people one base. That's a huge problem with this game. 20 mins in and you're on one base. Now I get why I've been losing. Lol 👍🏽👍🏽
Breaking the Clutch lol I think a lot of people are challenging themselves then because I play a lot of one base people. I see it and assume to expand expecting to have all the money and upgrades, but I find myself getting beat by one base dudes.
really like the gameplay and the actuall game. I mean I loved halo wars 1 but the fact that you dont or that its better 2 build a well rounded army than just spam hogs scprpions hawks and stuff like that really makes the game more intresting 4 me atleast :P no hate for halo wars 1 but this game so far imo. gonna be reeeal guuud :D
hello! i need help BtC, maybe you or anyone in the comment section can assist?A friend and i play 2v2's and recently we have been getting rushed by choppers, infantry, and engineers. We can handle a regular chopper infantry rush but this one is difficult to manage. To put it bluntly, we keep getting train wrecked and i'm curious if you can provide me with information to help stop it. I'f BtC or anyone in the comments can help it would be fantastic. Thank you =)
You played decently, but you were floating resources for so long.... You could have had another main base up no problem and have paid for it with the building on it by the time you actually used the resources you were floating. He should have won the game after killing your scout army, but failed to capitalize on wiping you out. Also, the inferno blast in this game was just devastating for him. That power is too OP atm with how fast it drops.
In the video, I specifically stated that I was trying to win from just one base. This was intentional on my part and I thought that I made that clear. But yes, he should have won but over-expanded in my opinion. -Nick
I wonder how many HW2 RUclips tutorials involve me getting rinsed like this
LMAOOO

Thank you for this. You're freaking amazing man!! Much much love❤

Use triggers
I've been playing 1v1 mainly lately. Lost first 3 placements as atriox, switched to cutter and won 6 lost 1, got ranked at mid plat 4 and last night I just got to diamond 1 as cutter. My strat usually is open with Jack rabbits then transition into infantry or air, or a mixture.

pretty much exactly what i needed. thanks!
Perfect! - Nick
at 11:28 how did you cycle through the units on the tab? like when you select all units it brings up the tab displaying your army, you seemed to have cycled to the Hornets specifically somehow
When you hit "all units" tap the right trigger until it selects a specific unit. -Nick
If you go double generator you should build agenerator first and upgrade it. Build 1 marine get the supplies around the map build a supply 2nd and upgrade it. I feel this gets resources going faster
You are correct and for the most part, that is my new opening strat. -Nick
I can get my rush out at around 3:10 if I'm good enough. played a forge and he had almost double army with drones. Does rolling Eco really help that much?
I am not sure if it currently does but it definitely did before the update. - Nick
Breaking the Clutch Ok thanks. Also, I suggest giving cutter jackrabbit opener a try. If your initial rush doesn't succeed, you can use the 15 or so jackrabbits to take nodes and harass the entire map. Very good fallback plan since a rush is so commitment based.
thanks for the tip! I will give Cutter a second look! - Nick

In 1v1 I pretty much always double generator on my main, I feel like my Tech 2 is way to slow if I don't.
Wait, most people don't have two generators on their base?
Double generators seems viable to me as long as you can hold decent map control as to not lose all the power nodes on the map. Because each power node is worth one unupgraded generator/or half of an upgraded one for your entire team. Basically its a greedy strategy that can pay off big if you know what you're doing.
Who was your commander for this game
Great Game to watch, it was wise of you to use height advantage :)
Thanks, Meister! I just realized how great height advantage is in this game! - Nick
Breaking the Clutch can you make a video analyzing height advantage and what is best if you're on high ground and whats less bad on low ground. (Also test how vision affects this)
I'll look into this. -Nick
Ive almost always ran two generators because of the adaptability. Sometimes though it can get you killed if the enemy scouts and is aggressive enough.
Double generators can be the reason you win or the reason you lose. It is definitely a tricky play! - Nick
At the end of the game you should split your units up to scout more quickly and efficiently .ps: they fixed the bug with snipers yesterday i was in a game and was sniping the opponents garrison.
why destroy building first in a full attack rather than for the throat meaning the headquarters part???plz answer thank you :)0
David Vonderhaar in case the attack fails u cripple their supply chain or generators or ablity to make units
I don't build generators because power is overrated. Also, troop producing buildings with the exception of war council/ armory are a waste of space. Just build your base with one or two armories and fill the rest with supply pads so you can spam Marines.
Btw, I am an Onyx player, so I know what I'm talking about
Nice strategy!
Thanks, Conor! -Nick
got the deluxe edition, is the first halo wars worth playing?
Bunnbunn 233 imo it is, both games are fun but hw 1 doesn't have a large player base anymore
Also hw1 isnt very well balanced one you get to higher skill levels only a few types of troops are viable but I still recommend it (if nothing else atleast play the campaign)
Kroth thanks mate, I'll try it out
Campaign if anything. Halo Wars 1 is a classic and is a blast to play! -Nick
Bunnbunn 233 how'd you like halo wars 1?
Napalm strike are way 2 op compared to other strikes like carpet or scatter
It doesnt involve use of computers, internet, or media.
good movie
Awesome game! I see why people one base. That's a huge problem with this game. 20 mins in and you're on one base. Now I get why I've been losing. Lol 👍🏽👍🏽
I thought it would be fun to challenge myself and to stick with one base. I do not recommend this lol. -Nick
Breaking the Clutch lol I think a lot of people are challenging themselves then because I play a lot of one base people. I see it and assume to expand expecting to have all the money and upgrades, but I find myself getting beat by one base dudes.

I love Halo Wars 1 but this game forces you to make a wide variety of units and I must say, it is pretty fun! -Nick
Not to be rude but you don't have to predict if you scout. Also why not get another base?? I mean you could have
Manuel Rodríguez id say i'll only scout to guarentee what an enemy will do early game, as its a gamble predicting their build order.
I stated in the video that I wanted to win from one base. -Nick
ALL UNITS ALL UNITS ALL UNITS
