This round was really fun to watch as they were all benchrest single shot style rifles. Shooting against a timer makes that style of shooting way more interesting! Thanks as always for the videos!
Man you are killing it with this series. Love it! Not to mention all of your other content, you really provide a service to the precision shooting world for FREE.
This is an awesome series Erik! This and the 1000yrd MOA challenge by the other Texan is so much fun to watch! Respect for these shooters, incredible professionalism
Very entertaining to watch,we are all built differently with different skill levels. We are privileged and grateful to be able to enjoy our shooting. A well put together programme, please carry on making them.
I stumbled onto a few of your older videos a while back and I liked them. Then this popped up in my feed and I love the way this concept has evolved! Liked and subscribed. Keep up the good work💯
Man I want to do this challenge. I'm loading 109 bergers for my 6 dasher wishing I lived in Texas. Thanks to Erik and his channel, I got my dasher running 2950 with an ES of 7.92 and under half inch MOA repeatedly. Last 5 shot group was .36 MOA. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Erik.
These are my favorite videos to watch, wish I could make an attempt at it, probably wouldn’t hit crap but I’d bet it’s fun, plus you get to meet the man, the myth, the legend Mr Cortina
Fun series...Waiting for some older calibers to show up,after watching Mark and Sam after work for many years, shooting long range with many different calibers, it's fun to watch them take older numbers a long distance.
I will have to watch it again to see if the others were doing it but one shooter had zero "cheek weld" and the other thing i noticed was the free recoil no shoulder pressure. Muscle memory thing for BR shooters. One other thing I noticed was the lack of being directly behind the gun...but damn they rocked it! Be careful when they come back, they got one lap on the track and that experience with someone who shoots pressure matches equals podium status. 20:41
This is real fun, and very commendable Mr Cortina. Well done. A friend of mine is going to be organising something similar locally (Malta, Europe). I got a plan to do something for pistols. Would love to see someone giving this a try with the venerable 308 or 6.5 Creedmoor. Cheers and lots of hugs from afar!
Very sad to see so many people with negative comments about the participants, their technique, the rifles and the content. I thought this was a great episode and if I thought their was some poor techniques I would not be rude enough to mention them unless I could demonstrate that I could do better. I always believe the more skilled the person the more supportive they are in their comments. Those that point out others faults often are trying to bolster their own worth at the expense of others.
I love this, only started shooting about a year ago. Learning a lot in a short period of time. I would love to try this but I've got a long way to go in a short period of time.
You know what’s more cool than this video? Eric’s video that showed me how the ‘fix’ my shower control valve. I wonder if he has one for my second floor AC.
Really fun to watch these bench rest shooters. I used to shoot bench rest rimfire matches. Bench rest shooters are gonna need a recliner, air conditioning, a tuner, and 30 minutes between shots for the barrel to cool down!🤣 LOL Props to these guys for showing up and shooting!
So, none of the big talkers with open sights has taken you up on your offer huh. Great challenge, I really enjoy watching it and all the great shooters that give it a try. Hope to see many more of this this year
I'm surprised by how much recoil push I'm seeing from those 6 dashers. Especially considering how heavy the rifles must be with those really long barrels.
Love your videos especially your podcasts with different shooters etc. I think pretty close to you was shooting bench rest for a while 6brs and now after covid getting back into long range precision again . I had stopped neck sizing was wondering if I was the only one lol
I would really enjoy seeing just regular Joe's and joan's hunters shooting regular hunting rifles and change the distance to 300 yards then the ones that get more than 30 points come back and shoot 400
@@ErikCortina I commented on a previous clip and I was curious if you wouldn't mind responding quick, how do u plan to fit that in a short action? Traditionally it's a long or intermediate action cartridge. Either way I'm very excited for it
All those good old boys, especially the last one, is sufferings from massive insulin resistance problems or Type 3 diabetes. Issues with eyes, mental clarity issues etc etc. So hard to get healthy or keep it at that age. But good shooting Tex and those are some nice guns! It is always nice seeing guys who are passionate about their hobbies.
Sometimes we don't realize how overweight we are till we see ourselves on video . I probably do suffer from eating too much , but believe it or not I'm diabetes free and have a blood checkup every 6 months with above average results for my age . After watching this though , I am looking to address my weight more seriously now . We are passionate about our shooting and the people we meet in this sport for sure .
@@markbelitz6084 Good on you sir for looking at your health, poor health steals so much quality of life from us and it creeps in so slowly usually. Ask your Dr to do an A1C test for a better indication of glucose blood health. Stay strong sir and enjoy the shooting.
Open sights would be fun!! If I lived closer I'd definitely try it!! Have hit a white 12 inch target at 600 with my k31 multiple times. But 4 and 2!!! That's a challenge! Lol 🤣
The issue is seeing it. Not sure you can see those last 2 at 500 yards. Especially the last one. Even if you could, the front sight post would completely cover it up and then some. In my opinion it’s impossible
To be a bit more fair that last target should be repainted between shooters. The third guy ringed it 3 times even I could barely see the white after lol
Takes a long time to repaint the targets and the wind would be too different for shooters if we did that. Plus it’s a safety issue having someone down range.

The only rifle I got is an ar15 14.5" barrel with a red dot!!! Will that be good enough for this challenge! Oh and im gonna need to hitch a ride with anyone going to texas from Nevada 😅
The first guys problem was that his body fat was getting in the way of his ability to breath. You could tell breathing was an issue. As he became aware of this he got flustered and started to rush. I bet he shoots from a rest most of the time. The 4th guy had the same problem but he handle it better. I was right when I guessed BR guys. Only the 3rd guy was comfortable prone.
We are all benchrest shooters and most definitely were out of our comfort zone . Being a fatass like me didn't help , but sun in my eye was really a problem . Enjoyed it though .
I have a guy I shoot with he has the same problem a little big to be comfortable in prone. I only shoot my hunting rifles this far. 6 inch is not a problem I never tried to shoot something as small as 2inch. Gonna give that a try.

Shooter #3 had his ducks in a row!
I have an old bolt action O3A3 with iron sights my best shot with it is a clay target at 623 yards. I would like to try your open site challenge
Them Boys can shoot! Not much paint left on the 2" after a couple rounds. Get a golf cart and paint after each shooter so I can see it ;)
It would take too long between shooters and it would be a bigger disadvantage to the last shooter than the paint.
should probably paint the targets in-between shooters. the 2" target is probably hard to see after being shot 4-5 times and has no white paint left.
I was the last shooter and not making excuses , but the 2" target was not visible . My shots were all a guess .
