Yes, we need an update. I have sooo much more and yes I’m getting sickly overwhelmed plus running out of closet space for all these stuff. Thanks for your transparency - I appreciate that so much.

That lack of space is motivation to buy less my friend! I’m in the same boat. Sharing a closet half the size now and trying to find ways to keep the essentials.

I’ve put weight on over the last year so I have some really lovely clothes that are too small. I don’t know how realistic it is for me to think I can lose the weight, as I only lost it before because I was ill and my body wasn’t digesting food, but I hope they will fit me again and I want to keep them for now :-)

Out of everything I donated I remember one dress that I had for years. It was my go to dinner dress, and looked like a stained glass window. Much more maximalist than I typically wear, but I always felt amazing in it. That’s the feeling I reached for when I bought clothes that fit my current body. Everyone is going to process it differently, so if holding onto those beautiful clothes feels good for now than do that. Just be mindful if they don’t bring you joy anymore

      Hi Gail,
Yes! I started budgetbee when I was in debt. With my debt paid off, I wasn’t enjoying my own content as much. I hope to always create content that I’m passionate about. Thank you for asking 😊

Forgive me 1000x if I'm wrong... I'm just a stranger on the internet..... but firstly, if your minimalist wardrobe contains 500 pieces but you use them all, love them all, want them all, you're still a minimalist. That's the minimum number of pieces you need- the minimum- minimalist! So don't compare.
Secondly, if the real problem is financial, addictive, or attitudinal, then that's a totally separate issue. Budgeting is great. Boundaries and limits to avoid binging is ok. Why was '22 such a binge year? Was it partly emotional? Habitual? Or are you being totally, undeservedly hard on yourself because society shames women's interest and needs, like clothing? Your body changed, ok, so you NEED a whole new wardrobe! You don't have to apologize for that, guilt yourself, crash diet 10 lbs or cry over the scale-- just buy a new wardrobe and feel happy that you CAN.
Which leads me to the most important point. Every sentence in your video was filled with shame, failure, and rules. It's the most un-fun no-buy video I've ever watched.... which did make it very real, but so, so sad.
You can't shame yourself into a happy life. Only brutal honesty, facing your feelings with grace, repairing what bad choices you can, and accepting the forgiveness from yourself and the Lord. That's it. But there's nothing evil about buying clothes or owning clothes. There is not a great juju about settling for garbage clothes, overspending your family's finances, and self medicating feelings.
Anyway.... I think you seem like a beautiful person, and I hope you don't shame yourself and reach for a "good in theory" life any more, but a happy, vibrant, balanced one! Because you deserve it.
