Alex, I can relate- swore I wouldn't buy another uke. My 4 instrument wall rack was full, didn't "need" another uke - and yet uke #5 arrived yesterday! That Millar is a beautiful instrument. Love the jumbo tenor sound!
This ukulele is pure delight to look at and to listen to !... And your channel is life saving when feeling low and depressed about the world : you enthusiastic love for ukes and your way to talk about them (deep knowledge, rich colored vocabulary... and your accent ! ^^) all that cheers me up better than anything else ! Thanks for being you and sharing it with the world ! 💜
Thank you so much. The world's been getting me down recently which is why I haven't posted for a while... to read that the channel offers someone some genuine escapism from that means the world to me.
Wow! What a sound! No wonder it stole your heart! (Millar fun from Finland - having two, both of them from SUS - and having been and am so satisfied with those. After listening to this I have a horrible feeling, it sooner or later becomes a need for another Millar... )
Hey Alex, in your playing it sounds to me like it has a real baritone feel to it. I actually mistook it for one when the video first started. Is that true or is my ear mistaking me? How different in sound would you say Millar's jumbo tenor is to their standard Tenor body size? Thanks for the great video as always!
Part of that Is the strings I'm using as I use two different sets with darker low G strings. Saying that, I play a lot of baritone and I like deep rich sounding ukes... The Millar Jumbo sound is different depending on the tone wood. The acacia Jumbo models have a snappier tone but the Pilikua and this custom are noticeably thicker and warmer sounding than the normal Tenor equivalent models.
A very interesting, very pretty and very melodious ukulele! Only one problem. It has to be hung backwards on the wall! 🤓 . True wall art certainly. Art with a dual function. What could be better.
I’m a self-confessed hater of Ukes with slotted headstocks but the proportions of the headstock of the Millar look quite appealing. …..got my eye out for a Jumbo Tenor with a more rounded end to the lower bout 🤔
I think that ukulele fit this, if you know someone who backs horse and they read all the form and who the jockey is and weighs and you say to them, who’s going to win this race and they give you all the knowledge and the horse looses 🙁 and when they see who won the race they say was looking at that one, this ukulele is that the one that no one would put together unless it was by mistake and it wins the race, no matter how much a expert you can be you can get stuck into reading to much into things, 👍

Really beautiful
Nice!
Love the natural finish. Wish more companies and Luthiers used it.
Absolutely beautiful ! Who could resist that gorgeous tone? I enjoyed your performance at the end.
Thanks so much

there's something special about cedar top ukes

Congratulations Alex -- I can definitely see why this one went home with you. Enjoy it!
Can see and hear why you bought it. Nice uke.
Loved your demonstration!! May I ask what strings you put on your Millar uke? Thank you for all your truly great reviews! Best to you!
Thanks. It's written in the bottom of the screen on the individual sound samples.
Beautiful uke, gorgeous playing!
Great uke Alex and enjoyed the song to
You are right, Alex. The sound is both unexpected and very beautiful to listen to. Thanks for sharing.
The pattern on the back of the ukulele looks like it came from a Rorschach Ink Blot Test. Butt, and I repeat, butt, that being said, I like it! 🤷🏻♂️
Great uke and love the song to
