Here in Boise, in an old stable neighborhood, our insurance for the house was canceled and the reason given was a perfectly good roof needed replaced. This part of town has never seen any natural disasters except maybe occasional heavy rain. I went up in the attic and looked for roof leaks. Of course there were none. The roof is perfectly fine, it was just an excuse. We were lucky to have found another Ensure and consolidated the house and car into one policy.

The government needs to enact laws, saying if insurance companies refuse to do business in one state, they won't be doing business in any state. And then enact laws, for price gouging regulations.

Farmers Insurence for homeowners in Calif. Have increased by 6%, stating it's because of Wild fires. I do not live in a fire zone. No forest near us, no dry grass hills near us, no mountains near us, no rivers or dams near us. Now they are saying we have too purchase earthquake Ins. We do not live near or in an earthquake zone. Anymore Increases in our Insurance will really put damage on our income and the ability too finish paying off the last 56,000.00 of our 30 year mortague.
    Whay are we too do?

    • @rauxhyde2614
      @rauxhyde2614 21 день назад

Yes it is problematic! I left San Francisco end of ‘98. Th we prior year there was a heavy-rain flooding event for which insurance did not pay on the necessary repairs and flood in basement clean-up. Then within a half year of that insurance issued a mandatory earth quake policy with it’s own separate fee at 4000.00? Something like that per year. When I called to talk to someone about it I did not get my regular stent but a different one who literally screamed at me “ Thus IS what it is! And if we want to we can and will raise it to 10,000.00 or more”. There are earthquakes in SF and I was constantly sick from the fog and way too much moisture, so I left.😬

Instead of Insurance Companies negotiating with 50 individual State Insurance Commissioners. A SINGLE Federal Commissioner added to The President’s Cabinet would have the authority to negotiate terms, with the power of the U.S. Government to make sure Companies don’t threaten to leave any one State unless their demand are met. Congress has been up to bat for yrs with little appetite for consensus. Let’s try a different approach… Thank you Senator for all you do!

In order to change laws and react to all these problems/changes, mature adults should be able to say: Hey, it doesn’t matter *why* these changes are happening - the data clearly shows us that changes *have been happening* - no matter what you decide to believe re: causality doesn’t have any bearing on the fact that responses and changes are needed. Sick of all the childish behavior and disingenuous quibbling from the countless, legally bribed members of our legislature that neither legislate nor represent their constituents.
Thank you to Sen. Whitehouse for your continued, serious efforts and actual work on things that are of consequence to the average American and to America broadly.

The root problem with insurance companies is that they are for profit entities. Making money for their investors is their primary concern. Paying out claims reduces their profits so they will pull out of any market that is not profitable.

Nationwide left Florida and now I can't get property insurance in Florida. Shouldn't insurance companies be required to get something for those they covered before they bailed in a state where there profits were more important than insuring the people they insured before Bailing on Florida?
My mortgage has to go to forced loan insurance which leaves me with only the bank getting their money and at 73 years I have nothing left after the mortgage and property insurance company which had made money since I bought the house in 1986.

Agreed Senator Whitehouse thank You for all you do in the area of climate change. After working in Louisiana govt during Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Isaac and many others, I can tell you any US House Rep or Senator of Louisiana in DC who does not in good conscience and faith encourage and vote towards better ways in the area of climate change, something is wrong with their understanding or mental competance all together. We can either fund in advance and decrease the size and intensity of storms or the federal government can spend abundantly to rebuild what insurance companies are not covering. Its not rocket science. They clearly dont correspond much with GOHSEP, DRU, HAZMIT, Coastal Restoration etc at the state level enough. The US was still funding portions of Katrina ten years after the fact. The moratorium on certain seafood exceeded the usual five years and increased the price of seafood abundantly nationwide really. People do not realize the devastation of lives and livelihoods from these storms. Louisiana has been in drought, if they experienced a storm right now (which is possible) the erosion would be noticeable. All US Senators lining the Gulf of Mexico and the Eastern seaboard should be on board with anything Senator Whitehouse is speaking. If not, you just don't care about Americans or their quality of life and you just need to not run for public office. 💯🎯🇺🇲😂

Dont forget Auto insurance including of course house insurance. Just look at how the insurance companies in California decided to raise policies by 50% and we the consumers have no choice but pay. Just like home buyers can’t buy insurance and therefore cannot get a mortgage. In Auto insurance you are required to have insurance or can’t get a drivers license. Why do insurance companies insure risky drivers and drivers like myself have to pay for their stupidly. Same is true for people who decide to build in high fire areas and people non fire area are also raised. Insurance companies are a scam.

It is sad that people are fully aware that the climate crisis is realistic; to say the least, down-to-Earth we're living on a dying planet.
Since 2007 I have been talking about Inverted Transfer Energy that is a realistic sustainable energy source that is design to maintain the battery bank’s charge for 100% off grid renewable energy systems up to 5kw. Keeping the power on even during extreme weather events from climate change.
Let me ensure you that Inverted Transfer Energy is not free energy perpetual motion machine because that is an impossible thing by the first law of thermodynamics.
But when everything is said and done, sustainable Inverted Transfer Energy technology is a realistic threat to the fossil fuel and the renewable energy industries monopoly worldwide bottom line.

Ok, I know how untethered what I'm going to say is, all I ask is that you ponder the possibility through the lense of Occam's Razor.
Looking at everything holistically, past and present actions and the lack of any meaningful action, explore and identify a cogent rational for the primary formulation of Mens Rea.
Following the active pursuit of an answer to the question I've framed above, for nearly two years now, and with considerable academic study, personal and professional experience all combined to lead me to this (drumbeat) uncomfortable conclusion.
Many major political parties and institutions across the globe, are in-part or in whole controlled by various groups of elitist secret societies, of which there is historical documentation and a strong record of oral history as well. The climate change events that are threatening millions, perhaps billions of human lives is just one part of what can be referred to as, a planet wide "soup to nuts", Reset.
In short the current iteration of planetary evolution is no longer safe and productive enough for the purposes of our hidden rulers, what I refer to as, "The Powers that Be".
It is too complex to attempt a full explanation here in the comments section and I don't have a channel that is based on this idea. I just felt compelled to speak with you on the subject. I didn't want you to be cought off gard or be unprepared mentally for what may happen in the not to distant future.
One thing that you can examine easily and draw your own conclusions about, is wether or not existing military radar and scalar energy "devices" are being used right now to increase and intensify seasonal weather patterns. Specifically:
    Tornadoes
    Hurricanes
    Volcanic activity
    Earthquake insedent and severity.
I can identify current patterns and historical records, but confirmation would be higher up the proverbial food chain. Someone in your position should have access to the resources necessary to confirm or disassemble my opinion. Thank you for everything you do for all of us, every day.
Be kind and do good work.
