Spent 30 years in Casper. Poplar St, 2nd St, 4:21 Casper College. You brought in all back. Miss it in many ways. But now living on the beach in Vietnam. Maybe I’ll fill up at Stinker on the way to Shirley next spring.
Winter is fine. The snow is fine. It's the 80 mph winds that was the deal breaker in selecting Caspar for my retirement home. Been to Capsar several times and I like the area, the size of the city--don't want anytbing too large, congested, or crime ridden, and the feeling of open freedom. I can handle the cold. Just toss on a thicker jacket and pull on the fleecy lined pants and insulated boots. I'd be retired so I don't have to wear business suits anymore. And I don't mind the snow. Had lived in Northern cal for 20 years, so I'm used to wet, wet snow that turns into cement. I've got a 4x4 truck with locking diffs so I'm good. But the winds were more than I could take.
@@ms.annthrope415 Did you move to a different state? I am attracted to Casper for the same reasons you were. But I'm sure those winds would knock me over. I struggle in 50 mph winds.
Thanks for the video it reminds me one of the reasons I now live on the Pacific Ocean with 80 degree weather most of the year. Some very nice people in Casper, but the ice, snow and wind made for the longest winter I’ve ever experienced. I lived in a nice neighborhood except there were barely any trees.
I have not been to Casper since 3 or 4 years of age. I do remember some things. My Father, his parents, and an Uncle of mine are buried there. While I would enjoy the lesser population of Wyoming I do not care for the winters where I am so I know those there would be torturous for me. Thank you for the "drive-through".
Thanks for posting a video of my hometown. Proud native of Casper, WYOMING (sadly currently living in OKC). Only negative to living in Wyoming.....the Goddamned wind!!!!!!!!!

It's nice to see a video showing winter in Wyoming. This is the downside of the state if you don't like winter. It's so gorgeous in the summer.

I lived in Wyoming for 30 years and I miss what it once was. It's changed there, and not all for the better. I don't miss the wind and the snow.

The winter in Casper last ten months, and then there's the Winds, they year round. My advice and I've lived here 35 yrs. don't move here!
