Chris nailed it. A woman expressed an interest in meeting me (customer) and when she hinted at meeting up at a street fest that was going on in the next town over. I said sure, ditch your adult kids for 30 minutes while we go for a drink....NOOOO I CAN"T DO THAT! so why are you hinting at meeting me? It's not like you don't see these kids every freaking weekend, and you're going to be with them at this street fest for 7 hrs, you can spare 30 minutes.
The correct answer was "yes, I can do that".
Her answer told me that her kids will always be a priority to the point where even though she wanted to meet me, it wasn't worth 30 minutes of her time. Me: "talk to you later" and never spoke to her again.

In fact, if they want Mom to find a positive relationship, they would be encouraging her to step away for that small window of time. It wasn't an outrageous or over-reaching request. Common sense says that if a woman has children, of any age, they come as a package deal. They do not belong, however, to attend Mom's first date. THAT would be bizarre.

@@Budd631 well the stats show that women leave relationships and marriages more than men. In my demographic, the black demographic, the women leave/file for divorce over 80 percent of the time. Even if you take half of that number and say that the man was terrible person that still leaves 40 percent which is double the amount that men leave relationships/marriages which is 20 percent overall. So no women don't value men as much as men value women.

Driver and map analogy, reference to religion and trust, immersing in the man’s frame, while the other panelist was unclear why she was the polar opposite and couldn’t articulate her career title. Rich and Moff were objective and gently teased out the details from each panelist. Very well done.

Jessica is a lucky woman. To find a man you love and trust totally is what allows a woman to access her feminine energy - which is very powerful in itself. Many women don't understand this because they have not experienced it. I know when I am single (most of the time), I cannot access my female energy because I have to protect myself - because I don't have a man to protect me. It's a drag.

You're making a classic mistake that keeping many women and probably yourself single. This idea that you'll only access your feminine energy 'after' finding the man doesnt work. Your feminine energy IS what attracts men and that is exactly what Jessica did. She has been consistent throughout with her feminity and that's why majority of men would queue up to marry such a woman. It's the whole conditional feminity outlook that's putting off men. He was also incredibly stingy with money, and my mother had to work to pay for medical necessities; school supplies; and to help feed 3 kids. Men don't need to be career driven at the expense of their kids, and women don't need to be SAHM to be good parents.

I'm an old dog... 50 years old. Ruined my entire life to this point not chasing excellence and not understanding women. Now... no kids and no women in my life perhaps thankfully my SMV is not that high so it keeps me single which is lonely but safe and relatively stress reduced. I'm thankful that I listen to Rich now but at my age it's really honestly too late. I wish my twenties went different. In my day there was no internet like this, no one to just happen upon and listen to. Back in my day if you didnt meet a real person you were finished from a networking standpoint or mentorship standpoint.

There was once a woman in my life who was basically the work boss.
When with me she did not want to ask for anything from me, that I decided where to go, what to do.

I think an important distinction need to be made here regarding submission.

I have been married 34 years now. My husband leads, I follow. However, I will say, looking back, there were times I should have stood my ground when it came to our children. He was not as in tune as "mom", so he didn't know what he was demanding, was not what was best for them. 30 years later, we are seeing the affect of those demands/choices. The biggest one was the time he was away (4 years) when our boys were 7 & 9. A boy needs their father, and no amount of money, rank, nor reputation is worth the harm it inflicts on a child by his absence. When we see a young man/father who is tempted to spend years away from his family, we advise him not to do it. Stay present in their life and find another way to make your millions.
4 years a bit extreme and a very long time that isn't good for any reason. I would say the teenager years are the most important for boys to have their father around consistently.

Your sons were fine without their father for a couple years - what definitely damaged them was being around an overbearing and anxious mother that needed to realize she was raising boys into men - not girls. Boys are really not complicated - get them involved in organized sports, combat sports, football, martial arts, discipline, hard physical work, etc.

The longest one we could have followed, which we had done in the past (S.Korea) but it became impossible because of another decision he made that I had cautioned against for that very reason. I fell in line, instead of digging in and saying "No - it's not good for the family, so you shouldn't do it.". Even though I submitted to my husband's decision? Anxious? No- just the reality that one person cannot be both mother & father. As for raising men, that was the goal. They were in the Scouts, martial arts, weapons, soccer, and later when they were older, mission trips to 3rd world countries - that they begged to go on. The problems they faced during school - was not something I was familiar with. They needed the guidance of a man. One fell prey to a terrible person, and I stopped it as soon as I knew of it. But the damage done would surface later. If their father had been in the house, I doubt it would have happened. (meaning - there would not have been the emptiness in the heart the child wanted filled) Just being under the same roof provides protection to the entire family. You speak of damage- but didn't connect what damage it does knowing your dad is having bombs lobbed at him daily. The adult liberals that outright say "I hope your dad dies". While the entire family understood "sacrifice for a greater good", the longest assignment wasn't one that required such a sacrifice, as it was a simple move to Texas.
