      Seldom does anyone realize just how time consuming quality handmade items are to create.. It is really apparent when you buy a mass produced item and falls apart within a week.. Quality items like Fischer Workshops goods will last a lifetime.. The time put into them is the real reason that handmade items cost more.. In all reality you get what you pay for.. In the case that you make them yourself it's "Time is Money".. The amount of time that must go into producing these awesome videos must be crazy.. They are very well done, "GREAT WORK FISCHER WORKSHOPS"! (hands clapping)

    I just watched a few of your video's and love them!!! I noticed that some of the time you use a single hand punch for stitch line and finish it with the three hole punch....could I use the 3 hole pliers for all holes? I have never really done any leather working, but I am a very creative soul. Thank you for your time and bless your talent and your sharing of instruction s.

    • @FischerWorkshopsTaiwan
      @FischerWorkshopsTaiwan  7 лет назад

      Hi Laurie, Thanks for watching! I try to use the 3 hole punch as much as possible because it easier and faster, but sometimes its necessary to use a single hole punch. Usually you will need a single hole punch on corners (especially rounded corners) or when you are finishing up and you just need one more hole. The same principle applies when you are using a stitching chisel as well.

    I really love this, and the explanation of each step is great. BUT...around halfway through, the video is both fast and choppy, so it's kinda hard to see exactly what you're doing, especially just where the stitching goes on the two narrows leather bands.

    Heĺlo Chris, Where did you find the hand-held 3 hole punch? I've been looking since I first saw the video, but I can only find 1 hole punches. Thanks. btw, great work.

      Hi Charles, I use Kyoshin Elle hand stitching pliers. These are made in Japan and work great. You can do a search online to see where you can buy them. Otherwise I believe Tandy leather sells something similar but I can't confirm if Tandy's is of the same quality or not? Thanks!

      try leathercrafttools.com they have them listed as plier hole punch in the tool section.

    • @FischerWorkshopsTaiwan
      @FischerWorkshopsTaiwan  7 лет назад +5

      Hi, I'm happy you like the cuff. I originally made this cuff for myself, although I haven't made this item available for sale on my website simply because it's too easy to get the measurements wrong unless I can size the customers wrist myself. It's a big disappointment to spend a lot of money on an item like this only to discover it doesn't fit just right. I'm working on some adjustable bracelets using a similar design to sell in the future, but I don't know when it will be available. As for the price I might charge anywhere from $150-$200 USD. I know that's expensive, but they are a lot of work and I use the best materials available. Thanks for asking!

    • @supermario7956
      @supermario7956 7 лет назад +1

      Fischer Workshops it's not expensive it's just right I know I love tooling with leather😁 keep doing a great job. I'm sending many blessings your way so much work is coming your way and my way as well.. one day I would love to do a collaboration with you 😁

    • @jamesthe-doctor8981
      @jamesthe-doctor8981 5 лет назад

      @@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan that wasn't too expensive two years ago, and it certainly isn't, today. True, *high quality* handmade items seem to become more and more scarce as the years go by, and I attribute most of that to the progress of computers and robotics...and I blame cheap, outsourced labor for the lower quality of such handmade goods. There's really nothing new about that, it's just becoming more prevalent as more complicated machines are developed to perform more complicated tasks. I'm just thankful that there will always be *some* people out there who are willing to pay a fair price for top quality, handmade goods.

      Hi Eric, I would love to make you one, but Fischer Workshops is in the middle of preparing to move to the US sometime next year with a focus on inspiring and educating people through the craft and trade. I'm happy to hear you like my work and enjoy the videos. I hope in the future to be able to provide a much greater level of service. Thanks!
