I did a trip from Perth to Melbourne with dad and my dog back in the winter of 973 in dads EJ wagon, i was 13 at the time. we only took the basic spares like hoses/fan belt and a spare tube. we slept in the back and had a hot cooked meal every night at a roadhouse. Its a trip i hold very fondly, from so long ago !
My father had a EH special wagon. I think about it a lot and wish I had kept it. This adventure you two are having is priceless. Great memories. Look forward to seeing my EH adventures
love what you're doing, more of an adventure in something old than a new 4wd towing half a house behind. I have done a quite a few outback trips in my Moke and a VG Valiant wagon. Keep the videos coming, cheers.
@@summa-daze THeres still a few laying arround mate, over here we run them to the road right to their bitter end.The only problem they had was the Fiber timing cog, once that broke it was a no go,unless it was replaced. No parts left over here for them now. They were all great cars mate. Thanks for your vids. From NZ.
If it's anything like the eh wagon I had you will be get petrol fumed out as the fule tank seem sweet out fule fuems and the old red motors sweet out also you will be off your nut after 100kms

Real Aussie trip in a REAL Aussie car !!!
Just like when I was a kid
A couple of mates of mine from Adelaide went across similar tracks and up to cape york in an EB? falcon with only the suspension raised.
I've been places some 4wds wouldn't get in Valiants, although most of it comes down to skill and experience.
This is going to be a freaking cool series.
The old man's humour is low key great!

Good trip. Curious as to were the other travelers were when you started to cook on the Weber?. That was a lot of meat. Cheers from Adelaide
Yeah it was a lot of food. The meat would have gone off if we didn't cook it. The dog ended up with most of it in the end.
only thing il say about this great video is, when you put your curved snags on the bbq, push them straight so they roll evenly on the plate.
Yea the boys
