My local bus company had mk2 lynx,s with Cummins L 10 engines, they were flying machines. The later mk2s had Volvo engines. They were ok but not a patch on the earlier Cummins engines.
One of these (a blue and cream livered one) was leant to our local bus co (west yorks road car / national ) presumably with a view to replacing the national 1s, national 2s (my fave) and REs we had. It must not have been successful as it didn't stay long and we kept the oldies until the wright era started.
The other '101' Lynx with TL11 engine spec is here with differing axle and ZF transmission. ruclips.net/video/LU-R1EoxvLs/видео.htmlsi=qGN82Wc2ERno1Hwf
@@glitchFan2428 Its common for ppl to mix up engines with gearbox its kind of annoying when someone thinks the noise is coming from the engine and not gearbox
This is a Leyland Lynx with Cummins L10 engine. It has a ZF Ecomat gearbox. LX2R11C15Z4S is the model code for this bus. C standing for Cummins. Other types of engine were the TL11, Volvo and Gardner 6LXCT
Nice example. Love a ZF Ecomat - classic Lynx tune😊

Thanks for this! Love it! Will be staying around to watch it from beginning to end! :)

Oh god that engine is good!
Omd that is so good!!
Glad you enjoyed it
The iconic slanted windshield at the front. Similar to our Leyland Lynx prototype 1983-2005
It actually reminds me of the Alexander Setanta DAF SB220
The sound of the engine is softer version of hispano habit or volvo b10m
Ooo interesting observation

At least the zf whine isn't as ear splitting as the SCG in the REs but I much prefer semi autos .
I do like an ear splitting ZF whine though 😅
How vehicles should be, step entrance raised floor, more seating
Weird sloping window though. I think that was to promote it in hotter countries like Aussie land.
Something on the bonnet of your car last night that you had to wipe off?
Not particularly, just making sure my number plate was straight & centred 🤣🤣🤣
I did take the car for a wash immediately after though 🙈
SBS had one last time but its gone so sad!
Yeah it got crashed sadly 😭 and rebodied with the Alexander PS front before being scrapped eventually
@@glitchFan2428 How old was the SBS one when it crashed
@@MrColinTheBusDriver I'm not sure
Sounds like Strider
That's cos it uses a similar zf ecomat gearbox
Zf engine is the best
I don't think zf makes engines, only gearboxes, axles etc
@@glitchFan2428 yeah I agree with you
