i dont even think they were impossible. I just dont think they had the right resources. The theater for one was not really fit for such an acrobatic performance.

She's right. You literally can't debate that. They did not finish the work. Julie's ideas were crazy. Absolutely. But they were the kind of crazy that works. It was not a basic Spider-Man musical. But they hired Julie fucking Taymor!!! They were never going to get a basic Spider-Man musical! She was doing meta subversion before it was overplayed and she did it right, with real stakes. It was brilliant.

The plot was all over the place and it never culminates into anything significant. The story just kind of stops.
