So glad I found this video. My brother- in-law’s Air Force jet hit this mountain top during a storm flying a mission for NORAD in 1982. Absolutely beautiful views and music.
Did he surive?
No unfortunately he did not. The wreckage of his plane was discovered years later down near Hope Lake

@@IdRatherBeHiking yes, rolling clouds.. I was lucky enough to catch that last time I was up there. Sure makes a nice time lapse…
I was able to get to the summit ridge then the clouds/fog rolled in. Down we went. Oh well, maybe some other day.
Same story with arrowsmith lol... always clouds!

It is heart warming to re-visit and enjoy the incredible views of Mt. Albert Edward. Thank you for your beautiful video! We overnighted at Helen McKenzie on August 22, 2014 because of a late start and then set up camp at Circlet the next day. We hiked the same day to Mt. Albert Edward. I developed a migraine that started just as we left Circlet. For me it was a hard push both ways with an unsympathetic partner. I am proud of myself for making it under those conditions.
those are challenging conditions for sure, was hard enough doing it without a migraine

Well done mate. My daughter and I got in real trouble up there last year. got totally fogged out on the ridge, had rain then coming sideways at us, then ran out of daylight. I aggravated an old knee injury to make things worse. Was quite the feat to find our way down in the dark and wet, but we did. The icing on the cake was having a bear trying to get in the tent at 3 am. Thanks for showing us the summit view we never got to see for ourselves.
thats sounds like a harrowing journey! I got lucky with this summit, I live next to arrowsmith and have yet to see what it looks like up there

I'm glad, some of those shots I had to veer way off the track to get them on the edges looking down which is why my distance is always more than the average. I think people usually do this one in 36 - 38 km, minus moat lake I probably veered off trail total of 3-4 km for "the shot"

Glad to see you struggle 😆. We did Cruishank on July 10 and I was struggling at the end of that. Not often I do a 22km hike. One day we will tackle Edward.
Ya Cruikshank is a long one. Go to circlet lake first then its only 12km up AE and back.
Darlene and her father stayed at the Most lake cabins once. Not well maintained. Dar actually ended up sleeping in her tent as it was cleaner at that time.

Great video. Thanks for taking me along the journey. I’ll be staying at Croteau Lake next weekend and I’m curious if you know how long the journey is from there to the summit.
it really depends how fast you are moving. The world record from raven lodge to albert edward and back is 2 hours most people would take 12 hours to do that. Often people will take 6 hours from Circlet lake so from Croteau might be longer like 8+

Ya I like how that shot turned out. I knew it would be like that as I couldn't steady the tripod so I quickly just walked and got the shot before it fell 😆
I was suprised at 17:07 to see a plaque honoring Mark Salesse. He was an absolutely amazing person. Too many stories about him to fit in the comments .
8 years later and I still have his phone number saved in my phone.I can't bring myself to delete it.

Hi David, great job on filming and really appreciate you putting up all these videos.I am planning to do Castlecrag and Albert Edward this weekend - when was this shot? Did you need the gaiters? Could you make it up without going through snow?

This was shot exactly a week ago. The gaiters were to protect my legs from burning and to keep rocks out of my shoes, also the nasty bushwhack I did the next day. There won't be much snow left up there, you can avoid... most of it. A few spots like the gap between the cliffs is going to be packed with snow still.

Is this well marked? Or are there sections were you have to guess where the trail is..
ya its well marked can only get lost if there is fog
44km for that trek?
I think the shortest path is 38km, I went to moat lake and walk back and forward dozens of times to pick up cameras so my distance is always more than everyone else
