Excellent job. Light up everything for safety. A lot of people see a tow vehicle and don’t pay much attention to a trailer. I agree with you . . . you did great.
My motto is "If I can't see you, at least you can see me!" I always add more lights to my trailers. And I've done trailers for family and friends. I solder and use heat shrink on all the wire connections. I run a ground wire to all the lights. I use grommets where wires go thru frame holes to keep the road vibration from cutting into the wires to avoid wires shorting to ground. I install extra wire straps/clamps to hold/support the wires. And I add outer wire sleeves/jackets for protection in areas like an exposed dovetail. I also add the high visibility reflective tape incase something happens that causes the trailer lights to not work. I am an electrician so that's why I do these extra things. I don't like those crimp splice connectors because the internal metal strip will rust up and then lights stop working. I only use those type of connections for emergencies. Your trailer lights look good!
You are correct, and I hate these push crimps. On all my other wiring, I use the heat shrink ones with the solder in them. I hope these will last, but if they don't and I have time, I will solder them.
I like it alot....I'm a light maniac also. I have 4 trailers and I'm in the midst of lighting them up. Couldn't care less if somebody says I have to many lights cause that tells me they can see me in the dark. Love your attitude on lights.
The trailer looks great Dan ! Next time I ever try those wire taps will put a blob of silicone inside before the pinch... might help. Edit- thanks for the shout outs as well 👍
trailers are supposed to have red at the rear most possible position not your discretion/preference look at lit up semi trailer on the sides only 1 at the rear most position
I agree. Can't just install any number of red lights on the sides. Only one. They will probably corrode out before too long without proper contamination protection.

My trailer needs the led treatment, and you can’t have to many lights on a trailer. Mine as been hit at a stop light and I have several friends that’s had trailers hit.
In my state, the rear side corners can be red and then all the rest have to be amber. His is all red lights from the back of the fenders to the rear of the trailer which isn't that long (4 feet at the most). If he had installed any red lights in front of the fenders, he probably would have been pulled over and given an warning explaining to change the light color.
I don’t understand my set up. The led strobes I got had one wire going to the light. Looks like 14 gauge. Then I open it up and it’s like a 22+ gauge red and ground. How the hell do I tie that into the trailer? Red to the brown and black to the black? Not sure how to connect what seems to be smaller than a 22 gauge to the 14 gauge that’s on my trailer? No audio places locally will do it for me. I’m pretty aggravated because it’s impossible to find any answers on this. Your hot and ground seems like 12 gauge?
Call me crazy, but I actually want to put these lights (amber) on my car, sides, front and back. Strictly for visibility purposes so goof balls on these Toronto roads can see at night, even if they are drunk driving
Looks great, can't wait to do mine. Also remember can't satisfy everyone If they don't like it they don't have to do as many and just not comment negatively but I guess those are the Biden patriots 😂

Glad you like it. I got another video featuring Parts AM lights coming soon.
@@DansGarageNC very cheap Chinese lights they dont last all that long but great install 😁👍
Looks nice 👍
Thanks!
@DansGarageNC I did that to mine right after I saw your video then I sold it bought a new trailer have to do it again 👍
@ man, now at least you have experience, lol.

Great video 😊
I agree, thanks for watching.

Do these lights work with the 4 pin connectors or only the 8
They will work with both!
@@DansGarageNC how do you connect them cause I only got a brown wire for running lights
@@davidmartin2339 check, that is prob positive and you can use the trailer as ground.
What size is that trailer?
It is 20 feet long with a 2 foot dovetail at the end. (20 feet total) It is 7 feet wide.

These are really cool looking. Reach out to the company and tell them Dan sent ya!
Should have put a set or 2 on your fenders.
I want to do that next. Will definitely help visibility.
I thought dot regs- amber lights were for side facing makers only, red is for rearward facing only. No?
Hmmm, I don't know. I never looked it up. Maybe I should?

The wire may be the hot, and the screws ground it? What is the link to the light? Maybe something online for the wiring?
