I have wintercontact si’s on my Jetta and they came out to like $280 for four tires mounted and balanced. And I got four winterforce 2 tires for my sequoia for $460 mounted and balanced. Firestone has a promotional going on at the time where they took $100 off the purchase. I don’t usually stud because lower NY winters aren’t that bad.
No to cheap tires, pay now or pay later. More noise is an issue if you commute on the highway will drive you insane, with cheaper tires always issue with balancing. Brand name will always last longer. Michelin or Continental for me. If you shop around at least in Ontario prices vary substantially for the top of the line tires from dealer to dealer. Shop around shop early.
If you have to travel in deep snow, noise does not rate higher than safety. Get the chunky snow tires for winter and change to All Season Tires for the rest of the year. Tires will or should last as long as they're rated, so you're not out any money, while your SAFETY is prime.
I've used sailun on my infiniti g37xs and Acura TL sh-awd. I live rural and the road is rarely plowed or sanded. Best tires for the money, I'd even choose them over big name brand especially when studded
As for low priced tires experience, the CT Dynamo DW 701 my comment is the true experience statement of a set of low priced tire tire. Sometimes the money the company saved from expensive media's advertising passed on the goodies to the customers. After a good 4 years of winter season and the final year for it to use as spring, summer, and late fall tires due to the threads of the tires thinned out being near the end of life used up. Having previous experience with Michelin X ICE and Bridgestone Blizzak brand, I actually rated this Dynamo winter tire is equal or better than the 2 top mainstream famous brands being mentioned. The deep snow performance was equal or slightly less than the 2 mainstream famous brands. But in wet slushy weather, it was slightly better than the 2 top mainstream brands. On wet freezing rain, dry pavement, and cold mid winter pavement, the Dynamo is actually noticeable better than the top popular brands. Braking, cornering, and handling in cold dry salty surfaces, rainy wet road conditions, it was way better than those 2 major name brands. Ride quality in comfort and road noises were noticable better than Michelin and Bridgestone winter tires. Durability, comfort, and quality were quite good and much better than Michelin and Bridgestone There's no signs of cracks or dry rots on the sidewalls and the threads area at the end of the tires' life. Unfortunately, it got booed by the so called rumors experts who have never used and never have ownership a set of these tires. Maybe the marked retail price was unbelievable low or just got bad mouthed by people only thought the 2 top mainstream tires were the best and dissmissed the opportunity to test out other alternatives available in this very competitive tires market.
Sailun makes good tires. Use to have a set of sailun 4season. Wich is all season tyres. No problem to go true deep snow, never got stuck in dicht, and they handled good, they cost like 55€ a piece.
Yup. If someone is worried about road noise from a winter tire then they should stick with all seasons and see how much noise comes out of their 'pie hole' when they get stuck or skid off of the road.
@@T1_TopG They where good on my wan in snow. Last winter i had Landsail snow star on my Transitt custom and they where also really good in the snow. Another i can recomend is maxxis artictrekker sp 02, was good on snow. Had them on a Bmw 3 series.
With the previous bald fronts and PRC made Lakewells in the rear, I couldn't even drive up a slight incline if it was covered in snow or ice. I had the The U.S. made, $76.00, Kelly Winter Acess tires in 205 65 15 size from Walmart's website installed on my rear wheel drive car for winter driving in early December. They are unidirectional, so they have to be mounted on the correct side, but I don't notice any noise. Now, I get around as well as I do with front wheel drive. Waiting until your local roads are mostly covered with packed snow to install them, and changing to normal all-seasons as early in Spring as possible is a good idea, because winter tires wear out fast.
Cooper Evolution Winter, General Altimax Arctic and Certified Winter Trek were the best cheapie winter tires I have ever used in our extreme winter weather here!
