*Remember that this saw needs to have adjustments made to make 0 or 90 cuts accurately **MyBest.Tools** I had to use a right angle on the deck and blade and then adjust the bolt to get the correct reading. Once this is done, it works great.*
mine was also very slightly off from being perfectly square, just some minor adjustments and all was good
Finally some good instructions with good lighting well done thank you !
BY FAR THE BEST VIDEO ON HOW TO CHANGE THE BLADE!👏👏👏 THANKS SO MUCH!👍
Thank you
This is a great saw for the money. Just a heads up, you can just slightly loosen the small screw on the blade guard. The screw will hold the plastic guard up while you change the blade.
Interested to see the results!
Nice 👍, good comment. Guess I did it the harder way having to put that little screw back in
Buying one today. I have one of the 30 ton 12" dewalts which is an excellent saw, but it has to stay in the garage. I've found cutting studs for framing with a circular saw to require a great deal of practice to be both accurate and fast, so picking this up for $160 on sale tonight for the basement.
Very good video. I watched another one that didn't explain anything good to me. Your video made it very easy thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Great demonstration
for anyone else who watched this video too late and had that spring pop out like he said it would...any success in getting the spring back in properly so the guard will work again?
Just bought this saw today plus an additional blade, cost me about $300. I'm excited to start using it
You're going to be really happy with it. 👍
Nice! I got the same one, I screwed up and did a 3 bdrm floating floor job with the stock blade, 😅 got the job done but need a new blade to trim it out.
nice work!
I did kitchen cabinets with this saw. Works great.
Mine has been a workhorse
Great saw. Little finicky on the alignment and accuracy, so check yours with a square to find your true 0. Some tuning may make this even better.
I paid $200-something a few years ago but noticed it for $159 on Lowe's website today in their after-Christmas sale. Great deal.
great comment, mine was also very slightly off from being perfectly square, just some minor adjustments and all was good
Just got this saw in place of my dewalt 12 inch which was 68 lbs.
I will be using this saw to build railings and stairs in my railing business.
I love how it glides effortlessly. Note to all, the fence may need to be adjusted so the blade will cut the back of the bottom of the material. Frustrating to find. Also, a few little adjustments for square vertical.
Thanks for this vid!
great video! Especially loved the WTF at the 10:56. Just saying what we were all thinking.... lol
Thanks!
Yeah I had the same WTF moment at the same place. Next time I’m just loosening that screw instead of removing it.
Good video! I would suggest removing the saw frame side safety arm screw to avoid the “WTF” moment when you lose the nut in back and you don’t have to align the washer in between. Also on my 12” saw the Phillips screw didn’t need to be removed completely because the safety cover is slotted.
Good advice 👍
Perfect, step by step
👍
I tore my blade up after two years. Cutting the fake lvt flooring. Thanks for showing how to change the blade. I was trying to unscrew the part that you said has a spring. ;-(
Yeah the spring part catches a lot of people off guard, and then it's jacked up 😀
I agrree with the previous comments, thanks for the video; not a lot of good instruction on this machine available.
👍
I’ve been having issues with the grip safety. I have to wiggle it to get it just right to keep cutting. Does anyone know a hack to fix it?
Very nice Video I just got my Kobalt 10” Miter Saw I love it👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼I was thinking of 10” DeWalt Construction blade for kinda multipurpose is there one blade that you would Reccomend to cut many things and and similar to the DeWalt Construction but better!!
Not sure what the best blade is, I use Irwin and it cuts great for me
@@PlatoonGarage Nice can I cut harder material with it my deck is made of that pvc and need to cut the longer planks and wonder if I can cut it with it!!
@@PlatoonGarage is Irwin blade better than oem Kobalt that comes with it?
@@alanh8101 I feel like it cut better, but could be placebo effect
Good video. I have had mine for over a year. Many comments on dust collection. Has anyone looked and/or felt around in the dust port? Mine has NO “hole” for the dust to escape - none. Am I missing something?
Strange that yours has no place for the dust to come out, maybe a slight difference in model year?
There is a black bag on the back held on by a spring clamp.
For the most part, I really like the saw, a lot of bang for the buck. They really pissed off an design engineer somewhere when it comes to changing the blade.
Great review. Do u still recommend saw
Yes I absolutely do, it has been a workhorse for my projects
@@PlatoonGarage thank u. I just bought the same one
Are Miter blades and Circular saw blades interchangeable?
Now you tell me, I took the guard screw off yea the guts went flying, but after 10 bud lights and lots of cursing l got it back together. Yea I should of watched your video first lol! Thumbs up!
hahahahaha, sounds like you have the same kinda luck that I do. glad you got it back together
How did you do it?
yea....I stopped just short of that same mistake! Didn't drop the arm off...maybe that will work better...it took 2 people and almost an hour to change that dang blade!
Thank u
The screw came out where the spring is how do I put it back on
just very tedious, keep trying it will go back on
Laser is very weak unless you are indoors.....can't see it if working outside.
The laser is definitely hard to see if outdoors
How long until the laser guide failed on yours?
Still working great thankfully
Thanks
80 tooth or more for finer cuts
My nut and washer that goes on the blade guard will not go back on
The nut and washer on the arm? If so it was a real pain. I put the nut and washer in place on the guard, then held it there with my finger while threading in the bolt from the outside, hope that helps
Do you still have this saw
Do you like still?
I do still have it. Just used it for a project a couple of weeks ago. 👍
I’m replacing the blade on this for the first time it’s snug as hell. Way too tight from factory.
1st thing why would you buy a 60 tooth blade it comes with one why wouldn't you move up to 80 tooth blade if you're doing fine trim work.
The worst saw I have ever owned to change a blade. Maybe good for a homeowner. Not for someone who needs to change the blade frequently and needs to do production.
Bought the Irwin 60 tooth because the guy at the store said the quality of it would make it cut like an 80.
What do I know, I'm no pro, the new blade cuts like butter so I'm happy
Blade is an easy change. Can be changed in under 5 minutes with the right tools.
the only problem with the video is that the light kept going a little dark and your fist got in the way a bit .but good video
Getting the right angle in these videos is always tricky when filming solo, appreciate the comment though, I'm always trying to get better
