    Shaine, that had a rather satisfying magnetic slap sound for sure.

    You are a great teacher. I found you very knowledgeable and willing to not fully stand behind a product without further research!

    so why can't I just use the wham bam flex plate on top of the original ender 3 pro magnetic build plate. I tested it and it sticks just fine. SO if I'm only printing pla and the flex sheet sticks to the ender magentic bed, do you see an issues with that? Also love your shit dude. I have the same one. Go team Cap!

      You could! I did this mod to the OG Ender 3 which does not have the magnetic sheet on it.

      @@Fugatech3DPrinting so I did and it works great. Didn't need to tear off the old magnetic bed and this way, I can still use the ender stock flex for certain prints. Thanks for replying

    Why is always the Wham Bam System advertised and no RUclipsr compares it to the system from AliExpress/Energetic 3d Store or even mention it? It's a fraction of the cost. It uses PEI instead of PEX (but is there any difference in usage?) and the PEI is already applied to the spring steel. And it's no cheap "Copy" of WhamBam, actually they sold it since shortly after Prusa released the mk3. Only the magnetic sticker 140°C tolerant came up the same time as WhamBam (before they sell with magnets to glue under the bed, wich is the better solution anyway, as a magnetic sticker reduces heat-transmission).
    Also you should definitly try out the PEI powder coated spring steel from AliExpress/Trianglelab. It's very near to the original Prusa ones; only texture is a little bit finer.

      I actually have a Flexplate from Buildtak on my Flashforge, WhamBam on my Hypercube 300, and my MP mini delta, the Eryone Maflex on my Ender 3, and Malyan M200, and a DIY magnets under the buildplate and spring steel plate with Geckotek hot on my MP mini V1. I also have a Geckotek hot on my Hypercube 300. For PLA and Petg, I do not see much difference, they all work well. For me I prefer the Geckotek Hot for Nylons, and other exotics, but that is a surface preference. The Buildtak Flexplate is much thicker, and therefore much more stiff, but the other plates are all about the same. For those wondering, A BLTouch and UBL leveling is wonderful for swapping plates with different surfaces. Just edit starting Gcode to load which mesh P1-P7 and print. I rarely have to tweak my level, if something stops sticking, or I get lifting, I take the plate off, and clean with IPA, after a once over with the steel wool, works for all those types of surfaces, PEX,PEI,Geckotek,Buildtak,Lokbuild.

      #1 - This isn't an ad. It is an installation video of their product. #2 - This isn't a comparison video. This is an installation video. I'll review it at a later date. #3 - I can only review or compare what I have and honestly, I don't feel like wasting my money on crap.

      @@Fugatech3DPrinting No manufacturer sends you something for free to a youtuber without the hope it being presented by him. If you fullfill this wish without any comparation to simular products from competitors, even do not mention their existence, it's an add. If you hide it's product-placement character by calling it an "Installation Video" it is even worse - you only can be happy to live outside the EU, because there you would get a lot of trouble (for a good reason).
      Realy: An "installation video" how to glue a magnetic base onto a hotbed and a sticker to a steel plate? Obviosly only another video to present the overpriced WhamBam to a lot of viewers.
      Nice you confirmed that by calling the alternatives "crap" without ever having checked them out. So your video is made to get free products by marketing them. Thats called "advertising". Making the choise what you present depending on what you can get for free is pest and cholara on RUclips. No one with some sense in mind would buy an overpriced product like the WhamBam system ("designed" in Florida but a chineese manufactured product) without looking out for alternatives - and pay more than 3-times the price of a simular product with same quality. So if it comes to price/quality ratio, the WhamBam system is simply crap. Exept for some RUclipsrs getting it for free of course. Presenting it everythere in RUclips, doing the marketing for WhamBam.

    You forgot a step, you need to take the protective sheet off the PEX sheet.

      It came off as I was applying it so I felt it was kinda obvious to take it off.

      Fugatech 3D Printing you know how literal folks are. Love my Wham Bam on MK3S. Bought a cheap flex plate from Amazon and got the surface from Peter, his studio/shop is 15 minutes from me

    What's the purpose of using the steel wool on the PEX?

    • @adamfreeman218
      @adamfreeman218 4 года назад +1

      To give it more surface area so it grabs better onto the first layer

      The PEX sheet is super smooth and the tiny grooves from the steel wool create small areas for the plastic to grip when printing. They are so small you will not see them on the print, but it does make a difference. I saw another video where the clown didn't do that and complained that the Wham Bam doesn't work good. I have it installed on my Ender 3 and Tevo Tornado and it is amazing. Works as well, if not better, than the sheets I have on my Prusas.
