- Wrenched Out Garage: The General Grabber ATx Tire Review
The General Tire Grabber ATx is a great all-around tire. This tire looks and functions great overall boosting a tough look and is pack with those M and S features you would expect.
I have run this tire from late last winter through summer and now back into winter on the 2018 Chevy Silverado and overall, this is a great option if you in the market for some new off-road looking tires while still needing to do some highway driving. These tires are louder than stock and yes you will feel them on the highway. However, they really are not bad and the road noise is something you will come around to. These are definitely not as loud as some of its competitors in the space and should give ample traction in all weather conditions.

What’s makes for the prefect off road tire? Capabilities, looks, noise or lifespan ?
I have them on my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500hd Denali and like them so far. Have had them for a little over a year and am looking at a new set. probably going to go from my 32.5 to 34" tires. I live a mile off road and they do good on my clay dirt road.
I have the AT2s on my f150. Essentially the previous version of these and they are easily the best tire I’ve ever had on any of my trucks. If these are some how better than the 2s they must be incredible
Still happy with these? About to order these in p rated or Mickey thompson deegan 38 in lt. Woukd u still buy this tire?
Red letters are only on the X3’s and depending on the size they come either C or E load. I’d recommend C (6ply) for better ride quality. You’re having bad ride quality because of that E (10 ply)
They come in D load as well.
Interesting, would have thought that in Alaska from all places in the US people would prefer actual winter tires in winter over AT's.
They are 3 peak rated though
I have the same tires on my jeep Cherokee trailhawk just put them on and find them a little rough riding. Is this s normal thing?
They will be rougher then stock street tires, what was on your trail hawk?
I like my ATx's. Mine seem to be quiet on the highway. If you think they make to much noise going down the road just buy a new stereo with some extra big speakers. LOL
How do they ride on the highway are the smooth?
They ride good on the highway a little louder and rougher than stock, but nothing crazy.
Anyone have then in p rated? If so hoes the ride?
whats loud? why not drive down the road window open and closed? can you talk without raising your voice on the hwy?
Exactly; that statement without qualification is completely empty.
@@Icutmetal I bought a set and they are fairly quiet as in no discernable addition to noise. If you ever had snow tires the noise from the grabbers is less than that. I am sure they will get louder as they age but I can't see them getting so bad you have to raise a normal voice while talking at Hwy speed. Its a soft hum more than anything
You won’t find the ATX in a red letter.
Well that sucks, thanks for the information
At3 are the red
@@isaacwayman2459 Huh?
Grabber at3 are red letter
@@isaacwayman2459 General doesn’t make an AT3, though....
