Marsilio was a wise and Good man. Plotinus would have been proud of him. Their merging with the One must have been beautifull. Lets learn from these masters, and we too can reach the One with a cleansed soul.

I always loved, the group that hung out at the Loggia. Ficino, Pico, Lorenzo, etc. It would have been great to be part of that The platonists living in the eastern empire had an advantage over the Italians, in that they were also getting ideas directly from the east, India etc. I feel adds immensely to platonic philosophy because it helps solve this dilemma of how the soul can merge with its source without loosing its identity. The analogy is this. A river merging into the ocean does indeed loose its identity as river ( our identity as a separate individual) but its essence as water is never threatened , and even better it gains the identity of being the ocean. Its good not to be feared
Yeah, so I need to know more about the Eastern Orthodox Churches. _Def_ some Big Feelings about all that for them! But seriously! Who were they before D-the aareopagite? I know they believe he was there from the beginning, but what does the breadcrumb trail of doctrine tell us?
