    I think we should also consider the bit where they become a puddle, like, when that happened I thought Phos would keep that form as to resemble the pebbles.

    This may sound stupid but I think we might get one more transformation for Phos. In chapter 103, even in his god form, we saw that there's still a tiny piece of pure Phosphophyllite left in him.
    I'm guessing Phos would sacrifice or lose his god form and revert back to his pure Phosphophyllite form. But unlike the one we see chapter 1, it'll probably be just a piece of sentient rock similar to the pebbles.
    But that'll only happened if Phos somehow doesn't die in the next chapter. Cuz unlike most of people, I want Phos to survive and live happily ever after with the other pebbles. Like come on, when Phos finally got happiness, the next thing we know he's going to die like come on Ichikawa that's just too much 😭

    16:46 reminded me i once saw someone point out that the shape of the alloy in that bottom right image resembles a dead lotus flower, whereas when Phos first gains control of the alloy and emerges from the cube, the alloy resembles the shape of a blooming lotus flower. i don't know a whole lot about Buddhism either but i do know that lotus are very significant; from a cursory search just now i can see there is definitely some intentional symbolism going on there with a lot of connections to Phos's journey and their humanity. may come back to this and write an essay after a good deep dive lol

    • @rizacreatorYT
      @rizacreatorYT  9 месяцев назад +3

      Yes, the lotus is such a reoccurring symbol! I should probably learn more about it...

    • @northliu1196
      @northliu1196 6 месяцев назад

      @@rizacreatorYTlotus is a symbol of rebirth, purity and spiritual awakening. When Antarc was taken, Phos found their resolve to fight for the first time, and the new found resolve is matched with the new found power in the alloy, to bring forth the spiritual awakening and rebirth of Phos. This powerful event is coupled with extreme powerful imagery of gilded lotus petals opening up layer by layer with Phos at the center of this beautiful golden lotus.
      The rhizome of lotus is also heavily used too. The lunarian’s color is based on the rhizome, when they get cut open they show the distinct structure of the rhizome.

    • @northliu1196
      @northliu1196 6 месяцев назад

      But for the symbolism of 79-84 looks, I think it is more accurate to describe the look as the structure of the lotus flower that bares fruits. Each of the hole is where you would normally find a lotus seed (that looks like the seed Kongo’s brother was carrying aka the spaceship for pebble to leave). The beautiful flower Phos once were is now a barer of bitter fruits if you will.

    Oh!! I think when i think about Phos, i usually imagine Pure Phos first, just because that's the first impression i got, so it's stuck somewhere in there, sorta like the first definition of a new word you learn. The second image to pop in mind is the most recent Phos, like during the 10k year hiatus it was Mercury Phos, now it's God Phos, and i think it's because that's the last impression i've got, so it's a more fresh and clear memory, easier to dig out. When i'm picturing a specific part of the story, the Phos i get is the Phos from that part of the story; i think that's pretty obvious, but also!! The thing you said about like.. the memes and fanart featuring a lot of Gold Phos and Lapis Phos, i think that's more about how present they are in the story and less about how people view Phos. Cause, let's say, 22 chapters, that's a lot more to work with than maybe like 3. A longer span of time is gonna have more related content cause more stuff has happened and there's more to talk about. Plus, none of us can deny it, Moon Phos and Gold Phos both have insanely high meme potential. There's also a lot of Shattered Phos in both memes and fanarts, i'm guessing that's just because the design is pretty jarring, like it shocks you enough that you keep thinking about it and eventually make content about it. But yeah, that's just my observation, could be all wrong, who knows.

    Whenever i thought about Phos the first thing that popped up is always the Pure Phos because it’s just so cute, that’s why i rewatch the anime just to see the Pure Phos.
    My favorite version is the long hair Lapis Head especially when Phos starts playing with the new hair that resembles Lapis’s habit

    Thank you for the video!! It's nice to look at Phos' appearance from a new perspective
    I've read about the lotus thing some time ago actualy! it symbolizes Phos' journey in quite an interesting way!
    The moment Phos starts getting control of his arms - Lotus flower is associated with growth and birth --> Phos makes her resolve(and gets shattered by the moon guard dog) - gold resembles Lotus seed pod - the end of Lotus' life cycle --> Phos is assembled and goes to war - Lotus leaf means a new beginning
    HnK story is full of Buddhism symbols and themes, I've heard that even the new materials that are added to Phos hold some meaning.... that's insane actually how much thought is put into this manga (and as with your video about chairs - so much attention to detail!!)

    I always think about pure Phos whenever I think of Phos, probably because it's the normal form without any additions or missing parts. It's weird to think that that version is only in 11 chapters, because it feels so much longer.
    My favorite form of Phos is probably Lapis head Phos before the hair is cut, and I wish it would have stayed around longer. I really like the design and don't really like the look of the bowl cut on Phos. Also, "Bowl Cut Phos" is where I would say Phos really starts becoming unrecognizable from their original self until prayer Phos.
    Great video and I'm looking forward to more.

      It's probably felt the longest with how it's the form we most see in public media, when we first found the manga/anime where it prominently shows Phos in this form. As well as the fact many of the early fan-art or even now shows original Phos which makes me sad and resolved to see how Phos developed after so long. 😭

    Nice video! You know what would be interesting? Making a timeline but instead of chapters, looking at how much time Phos actually spent in each form (e.g. Phos was shattered for 220 years, Phos was in Mercury form for 10000-something years, etc.)
    I might actually re-read the manga at some point and do this myself. I just finished the manga but I want to read it again, I am sure I missed some details.

    I tend to imagine first or gold form phos when I think phos probably because as I read I sped up more and more, first volume over like 3 days, up to moon over 3 days, rest of the story over 2 days so the earlier stuff had more time to stick in my brain.

    There’s still a long way to go in terms of narration. A fully fleshed out and prepared script will help you sound less “rambling” and “stutter-y” and will also drive home your points a lot better. Sorry to sound nitpicky or rude, but I hope I got my point across. It’s just that, as a neurodivergent person, I find it so difficult to focus and listen to the video. As something that’s titled as an “analysis” I expected a lot more…nevertheless, I really love the charts you’ve made to visualize your points
