  • In part 3 i had a lot of work to do removing the bearer of the old windchest. Unfortunately the glue was very strong and i had to use hot steam to get rid of it. The next step is to repair the windchest and get it airtight again.
I also have to restore the cracked rollerboard, wich was provisionally repaired.
I'm sorry for the pause. I have not that much time for this project since i have to restore it in my freetime. I hope i can go ob with it soon.
Feel free to ask questions or give me feedback about the video. I appreciate it.

You certainly have a job on, there.
I have repaired a number of instruments showing many of the same features which you have, here.
A shame that someone used that silicone instead of hide glue, but you have to work with what you have, of course.
On thing I would say: in video 1, you seem to handle the small metal pipes too roughly. I would not pick them up by the handful and then drop them into a box. The potential for damage is considerable.
Good luck with the rest of it. I look forward to future videos.

    Darf man hoffen?

You are overdoing too many things which did not need such drastic alteration. First rule in organ building is: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Rather than all you did to that old chest, you would have better been well off just to make a brand new one from scratch.

Thanks! Is it also a slider chest or a (pneumatic) cone chest, that was common at this time?

@@theorganbuilder-restoratio1848 It is an organ with a Pneumatic Windchest ( With Membranes ) , but I will be restoring 2 Romantic organs with a "Slider Chest" in the near future.

Sounds great! I love the symphonic sound and the gravity of the romantic organs. I hope to hear it one time.
What kind of stop is the Melophone 4'?
