I just made this as a Father's day dinner and it was fantastic! Wish I could share pics of the success. Once again, your instructions worked like a charm!
Thank you. Can I smoke it for an hour if I am in a little hurry? Would you do a similar approach to the searing process? I just put the steak in, and I set it to smoke, hopefully will get a reply soon LOL
Nice videos. Really like watching you use the pit boss. Missed my opportunity to get one for $189 from lowes. How does the temperature keep and how accurate does it read on the pit boss 456D?
I had to Google that! Getting a Kamado-style cooker is high up on my list. Any tips for what to get? I imagine it's kind of a trade off because the small ones fit the budget but long term might not be enough cooking surface?
Check Costco or Sam’s Club for the best prices, especially at the end of the Summer season. I recommend the Vision Grills line. There are other quality grills out there. Vision’s are as good as the BGE but for far less money. Some of the best tasting food I’ve cooked has come off my Kamado.
On a fatty cut like a ribeye you want to cook it more than you typically would to give the fat time to render and cook down. I do medium on ribeye and medium rare on everything else
Let me know what you think of this method of cooking a Tomahawk ribeye!
Smoke Trails dude you rocked this! Looks awesome 👍🤤
@@ComparisonCooking Cheers!

My first tomahawk ribeye ever. Thanks to you, that was the best steak my wife and myself have ever eaten. Hands down.
Thank you for this video. I am about to use your methods on my first Tomahawk ever. Additionally, I appreciate you explaining the logic.
Good luck!
@@SmokeTrailsBBQ Thank you good sir!!!
I got it from amazon
@@SmokeTrailsBBQ I'm sorry, I don't understand. You purchased what from Amazon?
@@Lakimbah Sorry! that was responding to a different comment. Hope the Tomahawk turns out great man!
Great video. I’m cooking a 3 pound tomahawk this weekend on my Pit Boss. Thanks!
That's a beautiful looking steak. I always reverse sear my ribeyes.
i like the flames going up and around my steak, nice char flavor
Brother, i am going to your house for dinner!! Great vid, definitely no regrets in getting the smoker
Lol! I always have a ton of leftovers from these videos so you're invited any time! Have you smoked anything yet on the pit boss?
@@SmokeTrailsBBQ Not yet, i prepped it yesterday. Thinking of trying my hand at a brisket
Louchavelli T did you ever try to make the brisket?
@@God53 Not Yet, its next on the smoker to do list!

Wow 😊
What a gorgeous beefcicle! Now, that’s a steak that will not fit in my 11 yr old Vision Pro-C kamado.

1 hour of room temp doesn’t do anything. It’s a fallacy.
Overcooked
