I just quit nursing school last week because I realized it wasn't my passion and just couldn't see myself happy working as a nurse! I've always been extremely into interior design, but have always been told I can't make money doing it, so I chose something I thought I could tolerate and have a stable job, which turned me to nursing. Guys, follow your passions!! Don't settle for something because you think it will be "stable" and "I'll always have a job". Nursing school was HELL but I felt like I had to do it to be able to make money. At this point, I don't care about the money, I just want to be able to follow my passions. :.)
thats a great lesson Sonja, whoever said you can't make money being a designer misguided you.
Omg I also have been told that but I always wanted to work with interior design I'm just afraid that I'm not gonna be good at it and not make money. It's important to follow ours passions but I also gotta eat lol.

Im still pretty young, but when i was a lot younger i consisdered interior design but i was told it wasnt worth it, so i also thought about nursing since i would be able to have a stable income..i realized it might not be for me. :)
you completely descibed my thoughts. i am studying healthcare management but i feel like i want to express my creative side more. im still afraid of changing majors seems like a very huge step since i would have to change colleges as well. im just always stressed and afraid when it comes to this. do i choose what will make me financially stable or do i choose something that might might make me happy. still stuck on choosing but im glad you are able to follow your passion! maybe i find mine soon too

Typically 3-4 years depending on where you go. There are more online options now as well. In California you have to be licensed by the state after college so be aware of your states requirements and be sure they accept the accreditation of the college you choose.

@@abdo-ku I like the warmer lights because it's more natural. The highest you should consider is the soft white I belive is 3500k.

For long I had a hard time coming up with a business I wanted to venture into, somewhere down the line I suddenly developed interest for interior designing I had some doubt whether I will make it in the industry or keep up with the work load attached to it, but after watching this video I'm beyond motivated finally I found my niche, my heart is home. This video is a great example of why people get so confused between decorating and designing. This is not Interior Design, this is decorating. Big difference. I see a lot of comments saying that this is their inspiration for becoming an Interior designer in the future; Interior Design is a whole lot more than what she does. Don’t waste your money going to school for Interior Design if this is your inspiration. You’re going to be very disappointed. You don’t need any formal education for decorating.
THANK YOU for saying this. That really bothers me with the title. I’m currently studying Interior Design and this is not it. This is decorating/staging. There are plenty of videos out there explaining the difference between interior design and interior decorating for those who don’t know what they want to go into

@@StyleWithSanaz bottom line, you style homes. You don’t design the homes. I’m currently going to school for Interior Design which involves knowing architecture, construction documents, how a foundation is built etc. I’m learning a lot of stuff that my friend (who is currently going to school for Civil Engineering) is learning. Of course correct me if I’m wrong, but you don’t design the homes (an Interior Designer does that and you come in and style/decorate them), you don’t have a hand in making the construction documents, or do on-site visits while the home/building is being built. I’ve looked through your Instagram and RUclips channel, I don’t see anything but decorating. I just think it’s important that people know the difference between Interior Designer and Interior Decorator, it doesn’t seem like you do.
We will be shooting many on site construction projects in the near future so stay tuned!

i came across your page because im looking to find to my passion for my future and career . This may sound funny but i play the sims a lot ,and i love love love to decorate houses and build them so this was fun and interesting to discover thank you .
I have to know it all I'm a craftsman everything from electrical,HVAC, drywall,I lay brick and block, paint, trimwork, and have been building furniture since I was a very young man. Its a lot being the engineer, designer,builder.....

ever since, I really wanted to become an interior designer. unfortunately I graduated as Hospitality management. Now I realize I badly want to become a designer but I don't know how to start :(
I'm a freshman in a 4-year college and first majored in kinesiology. Now I want to switch to interior design because I feel like my creative side will fit with my passion and for this career. It's not too late! I feel like I was rushing everything and did what my parents wanted me to do but I just talked it out to my mom about this field and she supports me a lot! I want to design someone's house which I know for a fact will make me and the client happy. I feel like just do your research and its not too late to do what you love
It’s not too late to start. I’m currently in school for interior design and I was able to use my credits from previous degrees to get in as a transfer student. So I’ll be in school for less time. All you have to do is make sure the school you apply to do the interior design is accredited.
