Reminder that with no Amare Stoudemire, and losing Quentin Richardson and Joe Johnson the summer prior, Steve Nash still led these guys to the conference finals on his shoulders
Also Raja Bell was suspended for Game 6 against the Lakers, when Kobe had 50. Plus Bell was injured and missed the last 2 games of this WCF.
But they did have legendary NBA center Boris Diaw
I mean give Shawn Marion some credit he was amazing that year. Not like the suns were full of bums. Boris Diaw and Barbosa were terrific as well.

@@dedwrite12 Yeah losing him was big because Amare was that good. Just saying those guys had amazing years wasn’t just Nash doing it. Like Marion was heavily underrated he did a little bit of everything for them.
Steve Nash definitely disappointed at KD if he played like this in the clutch.
This is honestly why the Nets are so frustrating because Nash was such an incredibly good player but he really seems to struggle as a coach.

On top of no Amare and losing JJ / Q-Rich in the offseason, Raja Bell was suspended for Game 6 against the Lakers when Kobe dropped 50. Then he was injured and missed the last 2 games of the 2006 WCF. The series was 2-2 before Raja went down.
If he had stayed healthy they would have a decent chance of making the 2006 Finals. Though I think Wade would have lit them up even worse than he did the Mavs.

Why was game 1 in Dallas? Wasn't Phoenix the higher seed in this series?
Home court goes to the team with a better record not higher seeding. The Suns won their division that season but the Mavs got home court because they had a better record despite not winning their division. NBA playoff seeding used to be really weird

Where the rings at tho? If he’s really a “much” better player than Shaq and all Shaq does is dunk then why can Shaq dunking lead his team to a title and Nash doing all these things couldn’t? Young Shaq was able to take Orlando to the NBA finals, MVP Nash couldn’t even get past the WCF. I mean CP3 has went further in the playoffs in 1 season than Steve Nash has his entire career 🤣. @@mambaforever3239 Keep in mind, this team made it to the WCF with Amare Stoudamire missing the ENTIRE PLAYOFFS... and somehow it's not even as heartbreaking as the absurd rejections against the Spurs the previous year. Rings are obviously why the game is played, but they are seriously flawed as a measure of individual success. ALSO: Let me remind you that Shaq didn't win the chip during either of Nash's MVP seasons.
