The $20.00 you'd save can be used to buy grinding supplies for sharpening. I don't think I'd like working with the grinder disk facing towards me if I had the option of going top grind. And you would be able to see your cut way better, allowing for more precision and less unnecessary grinding, which lessens the tooth replacement interval. Saving money.
I'm not sure if you'd want to do this but from what I can tell your biggest expense when it comes to the mulching head is the teeth. You could always send one of those teeth to a Chinese factory and pick the type of steel you want to use and have them make it. All in the cost would most likely be 1/3 the price to your door. A lot of folks in the tooling industry do this and resale. the only issue is you would have to buy about 100 to 200 at a time but it wouldn't be too bad since that would be relatively cheap in comparison to what you pay now. it would certainly make you more competitive in your quotes with your costs reduced.....before anyone freaks out, there is a good chance those teeth in the video are already made in China.
