The year is 1987, not 1988. Nov. 7 was a Saturday in 1987, and this game show aired Sat. afternoons at 12:30PM EST on NBC stations(the show was an NBC show, not syndicated) in 1987-88(and Family Channel in reruns at various times from 1989 to 1995)
, for those that chose to pick it up and it wasn't preempted for sports programming by NBC

What was the NBC Special Report about? Possibly Douglas Ginsburg bowing out as a nominee to the Supreme Court, after it was revealed he smoked pot. (Yes, really.)

This is the infamous "Howard the Duck" episode, based on a round two question.
Danielle and Jeff won the game off Carrie and Scott's miss (final Q: Who's the bigger junk food junkie? You or sibling?), but fell short of winning all 20 prizes.

According to D.C. Lundberg's Game Show Trading Post, D.C. Lundberg said that The Family Channel reran all of the series' 26 episodes in production order rather than original broadcast order. And not only that, the episode which featured Paul Walker was originally aired as the series premiere.
Here is the website and you'll see what I mean: dc-lundberg.net/gstradepost/il.html

Now we need to figure out the original NBC broadcast dates for these episodes:
-Kim & Matt vs. Ami & Jeff vs. Nicole & Todd
-Erin & Chad vs. Abbie & Brian vs. Elisabeth & Michael
