Big respect to donut for how they handled it, still have been disappointed with donut content for quite awhile
They all have investors that put them in a diff channel. Okay not all but it's a deff possibility and or corporate bs comes into play. Hoonigan is said to have done being ripped apart prior to Ken blocks death ..idk that I believe that.
It was cool hearing everyone talk about the tire making process at Continental! I’m the head inspector of a company that works with Continental to clean and repair their tire molds. We handle cleaning, venting, welding, machining, and we just recently acquired a new machine that will even be able to create brand new molds from scratch
It sounded like some pharma work I've done.
Donut lost 3, james is gone too, but theres been no mention from either side about it. Many people have noticed all of his cars and every sign of him is gone from the donut screens. Which is crazy, some big legal issue must be going on. Sad they wont acknowledge it.
Yeah crazy I miss this history videos it's why I stopped watching. I have a feeling he was paid out nicely if you look at what he's up to now.
He's still going to events with hankook tires and they are a sponsor of donut media, I'm confused about the situation.

6:35 James has been absent from a lot of the recent content, including the big 3 podcast where they covered up the original mural. I think Big Time is the smoke to a fire that is core creators like James/ Nolan/ etc
Mornin Boys! Got into Donut when the Up To Speeds were fresh, even before the hyped ones when James had a more calm presentation. Then stuff started getting wild (which wasn't the problem) and the misinformation (which was my prob) started becoming more frequent. I get it, views are views, but when it became a culture of finding a source whether it was accurate or not, copy and pasting into a new format, and putting it out there for a crowd of people that might like what they see and want to get into it because of that, they're probably going to look at that as the basis of what to do and how to do it. I had a whole story about a friend who went out to get a civic with vtec and came back with a LX, but the long of it short is "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't just go based off what you hear from influencers... Do your research, do it twice, and then one last time before you click buy".
You guys should just show the R34 already, we saw it in the background of the last few episodes. I thought the podcast peeps were supposed to get the news first🥺

Sumter is a pretty great plant from the footage I've seen, Only personally been to the Illinois Continental plant when I was a tire developer there.

Realizing that working for yourself is better for a big company that doesn't care about your vision. MCM and Cleetus are the only two big RUclips channels that have been successful for so long.
Love your takes on donut and thank you for bringing into perspective how chill they are being about bigtime, I truly forgot about that till you mentioned it
Build update on my Bronco we got the rear fenders coming and we got all the front end done. Maybe another month or two it’ll be gone to paint! Also got some rc drift builds starting! Had to make some changes from the cars and coffee as I figured out some of the weak points. But it’ll be back soon!
James Pumphrey, Zach Jobe, and Jeremiah Burton are the only reason I started watching donut and stayed a fan.
There was another person who created a video and said they were on the creative side of Donut and they mentioned pre-buy out, they were two levels from the top and after the Donut was bought they were nine levels from the top. I could definitely see how something like that could be frustrating. Now having to jump through hoops to even get the same content created and everything scrutinized by people who don't necessarily have any idea on how the product is made.

Need to rethink the content like cleetus trying to make a lot of the more hard-core car culture stuff digestible for more people while still staying true to it as much as they can

James Nolan Zack and Jeremiah brought me to this show.. if it wasn't for them guys I probably would have never even watched donut media

Got half way thru, annoyed, they too busy with corporate crap and sells vs the love of cars, driving and wrenching. U dnt get into it bc of money
Big Time was gonna be a huge channel regardless and I think Donut knew it. Better to let the guys have their say and part ways somewhat amicably and help them launch their channel so they can look like somewhat of the good guys. If they didn’t do that, they would’ve been vilified immediately and it would’ve caused way more damage, AND Big Time would’ve gotten just as big when people started finding out about it. I think Donut handled it as well as they could’ve.

In the these automotive channels only work when people use (watch) them AS THE COMMERCIALS FOR THE BUSINESS OR PHYSICAL PRODUCT THAT THEY WERE MENT TO PROMOTE.....seems like the director of these commercials thought it was about them and started RUclips channels and are just NOW are realizing that it ISN'T....GOOD JOB BOYS ON MARTINI WORKS IT IS A COPY OF FITMENT BUT JUST HONEST AND ETHICAL!!!!THATS THE AMERICAN DREAM!!!!!!!!!🇺🇲👍🤯💯🤑😲🤯👍

It’s really not donut, it’s the parent company. Donut did what it had to to grow, the issue is these parent companies come in and take creative control and now we have this cookie cutter algorithm driven mass production low effort cheap to make videos that completely derailed the vision of the channel.
Also I’m sure James is done with hosting at the very least. It seems like he got paid out
I kind of think James wants to Branch out and do his own comedian act again. I really don't know I'm not 100% but that's where I think James wants to go.... Be honest I hope he does I hope James succeeds in his comedian career..

I think auto RUclipsr have gotten too over their head lost touch with reality. Example too many builds going on, also trying to own multiple super cars. I remember when someone owning a sls Benz was super cool now everyone got LA Ferrari and 2 Bugatti. Especially for the economy we are currently in, some may disagree that just my perspective of it I love success but it’s a little too overwhelming still chase your dream. I’m day one RUclips watcher from Saabkyle04, doug demuro many more real legends
Zack and Jobe barely even mentioned their new channel in that video on Donut. I guess it was cool of Donut to let them mention it, but you guys are making it sound like Donut let them go out there and talk all this ish. Which they kinda did, but only in the video they released on their own channel. Donut couldn't stop them doing that even if they wanted to.
