Really impressive that he has thought through a complete systems rather than just a motor controller and battery in a Civic. I would love to see more like this or again when the project is finished.
It's ironic that this video just got dropped I literally just ordered a shirt this morning from David freiburger that says "internal combustion engines for life"
@hpa101 I do like the fact that someone took time and did something different but aside from that most electric cars are just boring and drab. They have no substance to them, when all you need to do is plug in a scan tool and ask it to go faster then there's no point. Most people who enjoy so-called working on electric cars like the imaginative ability and mechanical know how to actually create something with their own two hands. I mean building cars and being a gearhead is all about taking something and making it something that it was not originally. Like my Kia with a giant turbo and an aftermarket electric ECU that was built by scratch. Now there's something electricity is good for running my gasoline engine.. lol
@@OverkillAndrew that's not how EV tuning works. Would be great if it did though! Listen to this if you're keen to understand it better even if it's not something you want to dabble in: ruclips.net/video/6YpdDM12GEw/видео.html Have a good one dude and hope you enjoy whatever you do next with your Kia project no matter what that is - Taz.
@@hpa101 hell yeah man see that's what I'm talking about. I just don't want this kind of lifestyle to go away I mean what's it going to be like in 50 years if no one knows how to do their version of k-swapping a BMW you know what I mean..lol
@OverkillAndrew all EVs are is another toy for us to play with, if we choose to. Nothing more nothing less. The whole 'green' push around EVs has skewed that a bit in peoples minds and gets them riled up sadly. I don't seen hundreds of millions of petrol and diesel piston engines disappearing within our lifetime let alone overnight, but my crystal ball is as good as yours I guess 😎 Keep on doing what you enjoy doing, you'll be fine - Taz.
haha for some it is the other way around! Straight into the good stuff that will make the car perform better. That's the cool thing about projects and having your own, you can zero in on what YOU enjoy 😎 - Taz.
Watching the Electricians at work tune the ac drive motors to have some serious torque. Got me into this stuff 300 hp but is the torque like 700+ instantly. Curious what this torque number looks like

If you’re looking for a reply? I certainly hope not.
@@Mongrel214 why not? Plenty of Honda shells out there to go around 😅 - Taz.
noo
0 point turns are legit

Yes will be cool to see what this project evolve over time and also what it will lead to for future projects from Ryan as well =) - Taz.
I met you at pri a few years ago and I'm so glad you're doing ev content! I love it.
Want more ev videos like this! Great video
Cool swap, looking forward to some drag battle videos once it's finished :)
Rywire is a magician
This is awesome, can’t wait to do my Leyland P76

will drive shafts in the rear be added ?
I bet once this thing is dialed in its gonna be insanely quick. ~500 ft lbs of combined torque....thats bonkers even at 3400lbs.
Cool, might EV convert a WRX in 10 or 20 years
I must have missed it somewhere, but what is the range?
12:41 - I would check some recent content from RyWire to see how this has panned out as he has put some miles on the car - Taz.
I’m in California. I would love something like this front wheel drive 300 hp lots of torque currently K series with nitrous.
No windscreen wipers...current draw too high? 😉
Great interview as always from these two. Love the EV stuff from this channel.
Cheers for the support 🤘
such a gorgeous build lawd have mercy
So tidy! Looks good in red too - Taz.
This video made me realise the whole of EV tuning is just the boring bit of ICE tuning 😄

No thank you I’ll take a K series 😊
k in the front, motor in the back? :)
He's got a few of those too 😎 - Taz
Great collaboration. RyWire is The Real Deal wiring Guru. Very informative video.
We always love a chat with Ryan. Behind the scenes he's also a genuinely helpful and nice dude 😎- Taz.
